Like A Child

Xilo was slightly surprised by her answer but he didn't think too much about it because he understood where she was coming from when she decided to not fight with him. Even still she was going to tag along with him regardless of her fears and for that he praised her. He wanted to vocalize his praise for her but after a couple seconds of thinking he didn't exactly know how to go about it. After being stuck at a loss for words staring at her he quickly decided to give up as the embarrassment got to him and started to awkwardly walk away.

Watching Tearia walk to his side and not make any comment on his embarrassment he was able to calm down a little bit as he remembered a feeling from his childhood. Back when he was still a more cheerful kid there was always someone who would pat his head at the time to help cheer him up when he made mistakes or did something good. However nowadays he no longer remembered what the figure looked like at all and he only saw a black blur staring at him. Seeing that blur quickly shocked him out of his memories as he composed himself. Even with the slight cold sweat he got from that memory he still had an idea of what to do now. With a slight awkward smile that showed for a quick second he stopped at the door to the main entrance and turned to Tearia.

"What's Wrong?"

Seeing Xilo stop all of a sudden she thought he needed something from her or perhaps was going to bring up his disappointment with her. Scared at the thought of him being upset with her she watched as he slowly raised his hand. Seeing him raise his hand she flinched and held her eyes waiting for whatever was going to come. But even after a few seconds she didn't feel any pain or any physical touch in the least. Hesitantly opening her eyes she saw his open palm hovering in front of her face without moving. Wondering what he was doing she tilted her head to the side to get a look at his face but once that happened she saw his hand move a little mechanically and bump her head a couple times before disappearing.

Shocked and confused for a moment she watched as he rushed out of the door not giving her any time to ask any questions or react. Slowly bringing her hand up to her hair she rubbed it back and forth a couple of times with no idea what just happened or why it happened she was left standing at the door alone with a warm feeling flowing from her chest that she hadn't felt in a long time. The last time was probably when she moved in with her grandparents over 10 years ago.

"What the...."

Meanwhile her grandparents were currently at the front of the inn discussing something with no customers in sight like usual when they heard some rustling in the back and watched as Xilo sprinted out of the backroom bright red by himself. Stopping their talk at the perfect moment they both looked at him with a questioning gaze but since he wasn't saying anything about it they left it alone. After escaping from his embarrassment and awkwardness Xilo could finally calm down as he approached the two at the counter.

"We'll be going soon."

"So soon?"

"Better now then later."

Talking with Tearia's grandfather he watched as her grandmother went behind that counter and grabbed something. Taking out a small case he watched as she examined it for a second before walking back to him and presenting the case to him.

"What's this?"

"It's for you."

"why?"

"Because it'll come in handy for you specifically Xilo."

Curious as to what she meant he took the case from her hand and gave it a look over. Turning it around in his hands a little bit he looked at the Silver case and noticed it had a little weight to it but besides how nice it looked, it didn't seem special. Opening it up though it revealed black leather lining that contained 10 small vials with a pinkish pill he had never seen before except for some familiar shapes in books he used to read.

"A pill?"

"Yep, more accurately though it's called a Perception Pill that I created. Use one a day and it'll help change the way most people see you."

Taking a second to process that he looked down at his hands and stared at the small claws at the end of them as realization dawned on him.

"So people won't be able to see these anymore?"

A little overly excited he leaned forward like a giddy kid.

"Yes but like I said it isn't perfect and it's not endless either. So do sparingly use them okay? If you want though I could make more if you find the materials. It shouldn't be too hard since most are in the Selturn Zone anyway. I just don't ever need those materials so I rarely grab them whenever I'm out or I would have more for you sorry."

"No,no! it's fine, It's really nice of you to already be doing so much for me and Xelfia anyway. If there's anything you want let me know."

With all the kindness Tearia's grandparents were showing him, Xilo was getting more and more overwhelmed to the point he felt like he needed to repay them in any way he possibly could. "Though I can't do much yet..." Though she was doing it just to give him a little push on the back but seeing his earnest want to repay them she couldn't find a way to turn him down.

"here, I'll give you a list with some things on them. While you're out grab them for me. Will that be enough?"

Writing down a list of things she needed for different pills at the moment she handed the note to him and watched him hurriedly take it out her hand and read it over and over again remembering it. Watching him act like such a child and so different from his usual demeanor they both smiled at him like they were watching their own kid going out on an errand for the first time by himself. Thankfully Xilo didn't notice that himself though.

"Alright I'll do my best. Thank you."

"Haha, no Problem boy. Remember to be safe and take care of our granddaughter as well when you're out.

"Don't worry. I plan on it."

Shortly after that Tearia walked out of the back as well to see all heads turn to her.

"What?"

"""Nothing"""

Confused, she walked up to Xilo's side and peeked over his shoulder at what he was holding. Seeing the list of ingredients she got curious but didn't ask further since they were leaving now anyway

"Have fun you two."

"We will. Bye grandma, grandpa."

"Take care."

Waving them off they watched them leave the inn and make their way to the zone. They didn't talk very much along the way but it was a comfortable silence for the both of them that they both enjoyed until they eventually made it to their destination. Finally after some walking together they made it to the gate of the Astral Zone.

Well that certainly was 1 unique experience that wasn't exactly what I was talking about.

Enjoy
