Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

Just One thing.

With all that had happened so far Xilo was confused when he heard Zilan wanting to ask him a question. He seemed like a man that didn't very much like to use his words that much but now he had suddenly changed his mind. "Somethings up." However right now he was way too tired to deal with any of that. Even that strike just now took a lot out of him to pull off leaving himself even worse than before. His blades had already practically disappeared as he stood there and he could feel his body wobbling just by standing if not for Tearia behind him he might have collapsed already.

"What question then?"

He didn't have the want nor energy to play these games but he was impatient and needed time to think about what he was going to do next. "I can barely fight so Tearia and Felli are my only options here." Unpleased as he was with leaving it to just them alone he didn't have much of a choice right now. "I came over here to help them but it seems I've just burdened them instead." Watching the blade in his arm finally disappeared he cursed in his mind about how useless it was as a voice pulled him out of his thoughts. Forced into reality he heard a question that took him by surprise but quickly angered him.

"I suppose you know of the Wolf Weaver Clan that's here?"

Thinking back to those people in Wolf clothing he knew he was talking about them.

"I suppose you're involved with them then."

With a biting chill entering his voice a small ice dagger that wasn't even the same size as the rest of his creations spawned in his hands. This might have been the most he could do but he didn't care. Those damn Wolf people kept bugging him and now there was another one in front of him. He didn't carry the symbol or wear their uniform but that wasn't important. Not even thinking straight he didn't notice Felli sneaking up behind him charging up Astral Energy where she could. She needed to be ready for anything that happened next or else things could go badly.

"I wouldn't say we're involved with them but we've definitely met them before."

"So you're associated with those bastards, what do you want then?"

Stalling for time his eyes never left Zilan or the girl off to the side.

"Ehhhh I feel like you got the wrong idea about us though that's understandable but firstly can you tell Felli behind you to stop making such a scary face with all that Astral Energy. You can teleport away from us all you want or try and fight me, my goal isn't really going to change. Trust me it works in the benefit of all of us."

Hearing her idea already get found out, Felli decided to stop hiding it as she walked out in front of them and faced Zilan. She knew he already knew about her speciality from the past but that didn't mean he could really stop her from doing anything. Overall she wasn't scared of him if it really came down to it and he knew that as well. She was more interested in the sudden switch from before when he was ignoring her. "This is the Zilan I know more but what's he want." He was never one to avoid getting right to the point from her experience with him but here he was working for assholes and being vague. She was tired of it.

"Haaa..Can you just get out with it already and stop being vague."

"Ouch, just as blunt as I remember, well fine. Simply put the Wolf Weaver Clan are searching the castle for you along with one other clan after you killed all their men back in that hall. They recruited us to search for you after finding you-ah don't get mad alright I'm not done."

Seeing all three of their faces change in an instant he quickly tried to continue his story.

"And well I don't like them either but I agreed to help them find you but my real purpose of finding you was so we could work together. This was sort of a test to see what kind of person you were and it also gave us enough time for Marie over there to eliminate a spy that was lurking behind us."

"He's not lying I can show you the man's corpse if you want me to though it's a little mangled now."

Hearing Marie chime in to help finally he smiled as he looked at the three individuals in front of him. Watching their faces flash through a couple emotions he noticed something he hadn't before especially in Felli. They all turned towards Xilo to see his opinion on his situation and neither of the two spoke up before him. "Interesting, especially Felli." He had never seen such behaviour from her. She was extremely untrusting and very independent but this man had managed to become at least a partial influence on her and the other one. He of course doubted that Xilo could truly have total control in their decision but at the very least these two girls seeked his opinion somewhat showing they had some level of trust for him. Whether he was aware of that or not though was a completely different story and from the looks of it Zilan had an idea of how that was.

"So you tried to beat us up and maybe kill us then you suddenly want to work with us?"

"Yup sounds about right."

"....You know how ridiculous that sounds right?"

"Yeah but it's us or them kinda thing and there's over 50 of those fuckers running around here looking for you and the leader of them all seemed particularily invested in finding you for whatever reason so having some extra help wouldn't be the worst thing would it?"

"I think you have more of a grudge with them then I do and just want my help."

"Ahaha that easy to tell eh, well I guess that has some truth to it."

"Haaaaaaa..."

Looking at Zilan who had just nearly killed him and completely overwhelmed him acting like this he didn't really know what to say about such a big swap in moods but if what he was saying was true then he knew it was probably best to stick with them and fight. "but still..." Fighting in his mind he eventually made his decision as he stood there and looked at him.

"Well, I suppose I can agree under one condition."
