Broken Blade

Taking a step forward Tearia tried to stop herself from running as she inched her body closer to Xilo. "How do I do this?" With no response from Xilo she was forced to stumble around in the dark and hope whatever she did would work. Each step carried more and more caution as she walked closer to him without blinking. That eerie smile never left his face the whole time as his bladed teeth threatened to swallow her whole. "Before he talked to me so maybe he's just upset?" Regardless they were in a tough position.

"Xilo are you alright?"

"...."

"You know who I am right?"

"Nnnn....."

Hearing some kind of response from him she felt some relief fill her body as she got closer to him.

"It's me Tearia, Xilo."

"Tea-r..ia..Hate..you."

Flinching when she heard that she wasn't too surprised but she was still hurt. SHe had expected it still so it didn't affect her too much but it seemed to have stirred something within Xilo as she watched him raise his arm as the blade extended a bit. Trying not to panic she saw his pace pick up some speed a bit as he rushed towards her. "Dammit, Did I really fail already?" Not really given a chance she braced herself for impact as he sliced at her body with zero hesitation but she didn't dodge or fight back and unlike before she didn't just sit there and take it.

This time was different for the both of them and she was set on that thought. Grabbing his body she felt his blade go under her arm as hugged him after absorbing the impact while he thrashed around slightly but he was a lot weaker then she had expected. "Weird...last time he had so much strength but now he seems as weak as can be." Not really understanding it too much she decided to just be grateful as she held him tighter and whispered in his ear.

"Calm down Xilo it's alright. You're not alone. You have me, my grandparents and felli now."

"....Xel..."

Feeling him thrash around a bit as he repeated that word she sighed as she felt her heart ache but she had expected it. "Of course it's her." However she didn't let herself get discouraged by that instead she got more aggressive as her competitive side got lit. She may never be the only girl who will be in Xilo's heart but that was fine for her now. "You'll love me too one day." Encouraging herself she hugged him tighter as she tried to calm him down. Xelfia wasn't here right now and it was her turn for once. She couldn't let such a situation slip from her grasp.

"Yes I know you want Xelfia but I'm sure she is waiting for you just like we are. You just need to think about it less, you know how you feel about it. Don't let it eat at your mind this whole time."

"But..."

"But what? If Xelfia was here right now would she really be happy to see you like this?"

With that she felt his body go slightly limp as his struggling disappeared. Smiling to herself at her slight victory she rubbed his back as she heard the sound of a blade shrinking. "Hmmm over already?" He did seem a lot more tired than normal but she wasn't really sure how this Xilo worked entirely herself either. Last time he had been a powerhouse in his own right with blades covering his entire body but now he had only a couple of them with almost no power it seemed. "Maybe his body was trying to protect itself and in result unleashed a very weakened version of whatever this is?" With not very much else to go on that was the only thing she could think of right now.

Unfortunately before she could continue with her soothing of Xilo she heard the blade extend again as a panic ran through her. "What's happening?" Feeling it inch toward her skin she felt her breath stop as her body shivered. "What happened?" Scared she looked at Xilo as he stared her in the eyes with a look she had never before seen from him. "....." The insanity from before seemed to have disappeared along with that creepy smile from before but the blades didn't disappear however the most important thing she took from all of that was the smile he was giving her. It was a little similar to the ones she had occasionally seen when he looked at Xelfia and remembering that almost made her heart skip a bit but that blade still inched closer to her skin. Almost like he was trying to give her a reminder of something but she didn't know what.

"Xilo!"

"Yeah I know."

Hearing Felli shout at him from behind he ignored his clouded thoughts as a figure jumped out from behind the flames charging straight for him and Tearia. His mind was still a little clouded and he felt incredibly weak but he still had a job to do it seemed. "It happened again..." Staring at the blade along his arm that he was beginning to become a little too familiar with he slashed behind Tearia's back as he watched her panic with a slightly sadistic smile. "A little payback." He may have hated her but he still had fun teasing her.

*Clink*

With the sounds of two blades colliding with each other Xilo cut through that sword like it was nothing as a sound he had heard before rung in his ears with surprise.

""Zilan.""

Finally seeing the figure properly they stared at the red haired man as he looked at the three of them with some surprise as his blade collapsed to the ground breaking into pieces. Dropping the Fire wall he looked at the shrinking blade on Xilo's arm with some interest but he didn't have to much time to wonder what it was as he saw his two friends lying on the floor barely breathing.

"So you beat those two...."

Letting his sword go he watched the man who he finally heard the name of now push the girl he was holding behind him as he looked at him with some aggression however it was weak.

"So Xilo is it? You're still alive and able to even fight still it seems....good. I wouldn't expect anything less from you however let me ask you a question."

"""...?"""

Enjoy.
