Impulses and Confidence

"I should have paid more attention to the flames last time they were ignited." He wasn't too positive about how long they lasted last time but from his guess it was at least a couple minutes which meant he needed to keep it busy until then. Knowing he would need some kind of defense to help Xilo started to create some Ice Energy in his body to use it as a shield while he did his best to not get hit. Ducking both blades he took some distance as an ice shield formed on the front of his hand quicker than he expected.

"Weird, why s it so much faster this time...and stronger?"

When he created a similar shield to fight the creatures in the beginning it was a lot weaker and it took a bit longer to create then but now it was a lot quicker which threw him off a little bit."I guess I'm just getting used to it." Readying himself he gripped his dagger tight as he kept his ground. He Had a ticking urge to dash forward and attack the Statue but he knew that wasn't the smart move for stalling. So all he could do now was keep creating space between them as much as possible, well blocking any attacks that hit him for a couple minutes.

Waiting he watched as the Statue dashed at him at similar speeds. "Lights." Going blind he put his Ice shield up and blocked the first strike well the second was blocked with his dagger. Unfortunately he couldn't withstand the full brunt of the impact and ended up dropping his dagger and removing his hand before it got slashed along with it. "Some serious strength." He could feel his hand going numb just from that alone but he had no time to worry about it as he created another shield while he willed his dagger back to him.

"Need to block better next time." He had already blocked a couple attacks before but with his reactions slowing down it was getting harder which was his big mistake in that exchange but at least he could learn from it and know what to do if it happened again. Making another shield he improved it even more then before as the energy flowed through his body much smoother and faster then before as another swirl of ice spawned forming a large square chunk of ice on his hand again. "Takes quite a bit of energy though compared to my Dark Energy. So maybe I should try using that more instead but how? it's pointless if it's not a sneak attack." His dark energy was a lot more efficient in use but besides obscuring objects from people or things senses he hadn't figured out any other uses for it so even if using ice made him more tired now he had to use it.

"Regardless It'll get easier."

Breaking out of his thoughts the lights turned back on as more blades came towards him forcing him to dodge before he got hit. "How much longer." With that though in mind Xilo continued to dodge while blocking any attacks he had to. Blow after blow Xilo completely gave up on attacking as he slowly learned the patterns of the Statue more while studying it staying completely focused on it. The more he knew about the statues movements and patterns the better his plan would work. All he had to was constantly create shields when needed along with dodging for now.

However the part that wanted to attack kept itching at the side of his thoughts begging him to push forward. "Settle down. Control yourself." He could feel his body getting more excited as the fight went on but that wasn't something he wanted. It was something he felt a few times now but the other times he felt it he didn't have to ignore it like now and it was aggravating. Feeling a constant impulse to do something without having any control over it wasn't something easy to deal with but he tried his best as a smile slowly kept creeping onto his face with every move each of them made.

"Xilo!"

Yet the second he heard that voice his smile disappeared as those emotions died down while he turned to see Xelfia somewhat running towards him seemingly in some pain. "Good the flames are finally gone now we can finally start something...Though Xelfia doesn't look too good." Seeing her half running towards him he was worried she wouldn't be able to fight properly and that she might get injured further but there was nothing he could. "I can't make her stop fighting anyway." Watching another shield break he ran towards Xelfia and met with her in the middle while the Statue lagged behind a second.

"Are you okay?"

"It's just a scratch, for now we need to focus on beating that thing well we aren't separated. Got any ideas yet Xilo?"

"I do but just one though I need your help."

With that he began to explain his idea as quickly as possible before the Statue got on top of them again.

"Alright I understand, I should be able to do that at least for a little bit but what about after that?"

"After I confirm whether I'm right or not I want you to wait for my signal then unleash your vines on him if possible."

"Yeah I can do that just let me know when."

Half forcing a smile Xelfia walked forward towards the Statue so she could start helping Xilo. Her job was probably the easier one but with the pain she was still feeling it might be a little bit of struggle to complete. However Xilo was relying on her so she couldn't let him or herself down. "You've made it this far, So keep on pushing. Prove to yourself you can do it." She had been struggling so much recently with trying to keep positive and confident but if she had to be honest it wasn't an easy battle in its own right but with each challenge she faced and beat it was slowly coming back so she couldn't stop now especially with Xilo encouraging and watching over her. Maybe it was weak to rely on someone else but she didn't care anymore. Her life was changing along with Xilo's now she just had to see where that path would bring the both of them.

"Let's end this and finally escape from this cage."

With some determination blazing in her eyes she ignored the pain and prepared herself.

Enjoy
