All The Time In The World?

Watching Tearia keep control of the lightning flashing around her hand back and forth Eli stood off to the side impressed with her progress.

"Good Job tearia, you seem to be coming along nicely so far."

"Do you really think so?"

Turning to her Grandfather Tearia didn't share the same feelings as him. She figured she was only doing okay at best especially with all the injuries she had received near the start but thankfully those had stopped recently which made her happy. "Getting zapped all the time isn't fun." Yet her Grandfather saw it differently over the past week of training. "At this rate she should be able to use it to fight at least. Hopefully that gives her some confidence in trying the competition soon." But for now he would keep quiet about that as he walked up to her and rubbed her hair.

"Yes you're doing just fine. Try not to overthink it okay, that never helps."

"Alright."

"Now that you've got the technique down a little why not try to practice using it in combat now with me a little bit."

Hearing her Grandfather's words she was slightly hesitant but there was no harm in trying to practice it in actual fighting a little bit. "Besides I haven't been able to make it any better for a day or so now." All she had been doing was improving her control lately without going further. Unfortunately her Grandfather forbade her from doing anything past just her hands for now but she understood why he said it. "At least a little bit." But now she could do something else before her lessons with her Grandmother started.

"Alright, try and go a little easy on me."

"Haha, no promises."

Both taking some distance from each other in their little field Tearia circulated all the Lightning energy she could directing it towards her hands as she faced her Grandfather who stood still quietly watching her every move. "I can keep this going for about five minutes so let's at least try and land a hit within that time limit." Throughout all there spars she had only ever gotten close to hitting him and she was pretty sure that was only because he let her. "He never uses anything besides his body." Not once did she see any other techniques or Astral Energy from him even when she started to use them leaving her frustrated.

"Ready?"

"Yeah."

With that one word of confirmation she raced towards him as fast as she could and threw her first attack out in the span of a couple seconds. Along with the crackling of her Lightning she aimed straight for his stomach only to watch him calmly side step it and appear behind her pushing her to the ground along with her momentum. Eating dirt almost she coughed feeling pain run through her back but she was use to such things now as she got back up quickly and turned to face him before he could land another attack on her and send her out of the training area. Just in time she was able to defend herself as she blocked his attack with her hand as her lightning danced across to his skin along with the contact but he didn't budge as he backed off giving Tearia some breathing room while he prepared to attack again.

"On the defensive side again." Like all their fights she always ended up on the side defending almost constantly. "How do I get out of this?" However she also had to keep control of the lightning this whole time straining her mind and body. "Looks like I can't last five minutes after all." Waving that thought out of her mind she got ready to dodge the next attack and gain some space. "here it comes." Watching him approach she jumped to the side similar to him but his fist followed along with her movement not letting her stop without blocking. Sighing she gave up and held out her arm defending it as she tried to swing with her leg and kick him in the side.

"Close."

Alas that slightly mocking tone was all she heard as her kick hit nothing but air. "Dammit." Stabilizing herself she turned behind her where her Grandfather was again and attacked again. Seeing him getting ready to block Tearis still continued with her attack and let themselves collide. "Let's try this." A little recklessly she extended her lighting as much as she could to see if she could reach her Grandfather but that failed. Quickly losing control her lightning started getting sporadic so she was forced to reign it back and get it under control before it could do any serious damage to herself. Backing off she slowly got it under control while her Grandfather stared at her.

"That was reckless."

Wincing a little hearing her Grandfather's stern voice Tearia knew she might have been a little impatient as she stood still facing her Grandfather who didn't move anymore.

"Sorry..."

"Sorry won't heal an injury you've received."

"I know...."

"Haa.....I know your impatient and frustrated but try not to do something that could get you seriously hurt okay? I don't want to see you hurt nor should you want that for yourself either."

"I understand."

"As long as you get it. Let's take a minute for a little break then we can start again."

Dispersing her energy she stared at her hand as small burnt marks showed up. "He's right I know that...But I just feel so." She knew it was silly and maybe she had gotten a little overconfident in herself as she sat there and slowed her breathing to let herself calm down. "I Have all the time in the world. So then why am I rushing?" In and out she calmed herself down for a couple minutes until she finally admitted to herself that was dumb. "Yea..That was pretty idiotic of me." Sighing, she followed her Grandfather off to the side for a little break.
