A Connection Formed and Shattered

While that was happening, everyone else was trying to set up one giant defense all together in an attempt to stop the Dragon's attack. Tearia felt a bit useless in this situation as she stayed beside Felli. "I can't do much." With that in mind she checked on everyone to make sure they were okay. Passing by each of their faces, Tearia noticed something off in the distance that wasn't just a red flame. "It looks like Darkness." She was having trouble seeing at the moment. From the looks of it though it seemed like the energy she was seeing was Xilo's. "Not quite." It felt like something else had combined with it, creating an entirely new energy. "It's expanding!" Seeing it grow bigger, Tearia had no idea what was about to happen.

Black energy seeped into the world, leaking everywhere like crazy as it formed a lake. Every time the fire got anywhere close to it the lake absorbed it and grew even bigger. Expanding into an ocean the darkness fought against the flames sucking them all up like a giant blackhole. No matter how much it consumed it could never be satisfied from the looks of it. Each second the sky cleared up as the flames disappeared revealing the actual sun. Eventually the black hole ate covered the entirety of the area they were in. Converging onto the flames it ate every last drop. Tearia, Felli and everyone else even felt their energy being consumed in the process. A giant black sun had replaced the flames but they weren't excited.

They were even more worried, if that thing aimed towards them they would all be dead. ""Xilo, Xelfia!?"" Ignoring the danger that could have faced them, the girls ran forward leaving everyone else behind. The Black Sun that had consumed everything slowly started to shrink with time. "What the heck was that?" As the blackhole disappeared it revealed three different figures shadows in the middle of it all. "There they are!" Revealing Xelfia and Xilo they ran up to them before pausing once they noticed something was off. The body of Xelfia that used to have pure red scales had changed. "They're a different colour?" The right half of her face near her horn, her scales had turned completely black. Some of the luster of her crimson had also dwindled. "Why?" Thinking that to themselves, Tearia was the first to approach as she saw Xilo lying on the ground filled with sweat.

"Are you two okay, what happened just now?"

Morphing back to her human form with the last of her power Xelfia caught herself before falling.

"We're both fine, I don't know what really happened but that Dragon isn't dead yet. Do me a favour girls, take care of Xilo while I finish this."

"A-are you sure?"

"Yes...this is my fight."

Holding herself together Xelfia turned around and walked towards the Dragon's body lying in the distance. "I feel something inside of me." The place where her power was stored had turned black in one area. It wasn't her own power, it was something completely unfamiliar to her. Limping towards the giant body Xelfia ignored it for now. She had many questions for it with zero answers. "I know Xilo had something to do with it, that's all." Even if it was a complete fluke that she had won, it was still a victory and she wanted to see it all end. Making it next to the large Dragon's body, Xelfia went to face it head on. Opening it's one eye at the sounds of footsteps the Dragon saw the red headed girl in front of it.

Scanning its face, Xelfia saw a tired face filled with grief and longing.

"....Good...fight girl."

It was on its last breath, speaking properly was a struggle.

"I kind of cheated at the end, I had help."

"...So...did I...it's not important. What's important now is to end it."

Facing death head on, that was the Dragon's last request for Xelfia. It was going to die very soon regardless however it wanted to die by her hands. "So familiar." It felt happy that the red headed girl before it would be the one to kill her. "Rin, did I do good?" Thinking of her husband and child the Dragon closed its eyes waiting for death. Taking out her claws Xelfia equipped one of them weakly. "You made me feel weak, useless and alone." Letting out all of her complaints Xelfia stared at the Golden Dragon's damaged body as she raised her hand. "For that..I thank you." With its one closed eye still left the Dragon let one more curiosity take it's soul.

"..Girl, what's your...name?"

"I'm called Xelfia. What's yours?"

"....Xel..Xelfia..huh....a good name....you..can...call me....Xina."

Tears flowed down Xelfia's face as she heard the Dragon's name, she couldn't escape this sadness. Ever since she had gotten near this Dragon her blood and soul had been calling out to her. It was a weird feeling, like a lost want. "I won't forget you." Thrusting downwards, Xelfia stabbed the Dragon's head ending its life permanently. "Xina, it was a good fight." Falling onto her knees Xelfia let out a loud wail as she began to cry her eyes out. She suddenly felt incredibly lonely as that connection shattered into hundreds of pieces. "Why, why, WHY?" While she was crying a soul escaped the Dragon's body and entered into Xelfia's. After a few minutes it felt like a switch that had been flipped. Xelfia felt herself fall to the ground. She had no more energy in her body, she was beyond stressed and sad. She didn't realize just how tired she really was until she hit the ground.

"...I guess I can sleep now."

Shouts of panic were off in the distance but Xelfia ignored them as she entered a world of dreams, where one Woman was there standing all alone in a forest.

"Hello Xelfia."

Here is today's, couldn't do yesterday's sadly.

Enjoy.
