A Bad Influence

Becoming aware of the world around her she felt a breeze hit her cheek as her eyes started to open once again. "Dammit." Feeling the rough ground underneath her, her whole body ached as she sat up and looked at her surroundings.

"Looks like I landed on a cliffside, talk about luck. Hopefully that damn punk didn't get as lucky as me."

Looking at the small cliff she managed to land on she stood up and stretched her body while looking down at the ground below to see hundreds of Astral Beasts amongst one another. "What the hell is even down there." She was never told anything about this place only told to go and defend it so maybe she shouldn't have been asking such questions but it bothered her seeing so many Astral beasts gathering. "Well it's not my problem." Trying to shake away her thoughts she made sure her Astral Energy had returned for the most part and looked up towards the top of the cliffside.

"Welp time to find my subordinates and report back. That old man needs to know about this"

Even now she could still remember the look in his eyes when she was asked to do this job. They ignored everything in the world around him as everything he was doing was for himself. "Some Clan Leader you are… Power hungry and crazy. Scum." However she still needed money so she had to put up with it. "Father, mother...Arin..." Remembering her lost ones she made her way up the cliff. "And that damn bastard who calls himself number one...Elliot, you'll pay one day. I swear. I don't care how strong and great you think you are. One day you'll be nothing but a faded memory in the back of people's minds. A Fallen Champion." Reaching the top her thoughts were cut off as she finally made it to the top and noticed a strange ball of flame not too far away from where she was.

"Strange..."

Dusting herself off she walked towards it but besides a calming flame that gently circled around in that small area that didn't seem to go out nothing else seemed special about it. However once she got closer she realized that the not so dangerous flame was incredibly hot as she felt her clothes starting to burn along with her body before quickly backing up. Putting out the flame she felt some fear reappear in her mind as her hood got slightly burnt revealing some silver hair that poked out. Tucking it back in she stood far away from that ball of flame as she spread her Astral Energy out looking for her subordinates but even after covering a good chunk of the mountainside she found none of them, not even the corpses of the once who had died before.

"I must have been out for quite a while if they already left without me. Haa...well looks like it's time to return back to belturn now that those little pests are dealt with."

She knew for a fact that one woman was a dead one along with the boy after he fell into that sea of beasts, he would have been ripped to shreds instantly if he could even survive the fall so she was confident her work here was done now. She could ask about the flame ball as well when she got back to see if she could get any answers but she mostly just cared for her reward nothing else. "Where should I go after this...Maybe to another country?" She had been here for too long and it was time she found a nice place to temporarily reside in. If too many people knew about her it wouldn't be a good thing.

Sighing she stared off into the distance trying to decide where she wanted to go while the sun rose in the sky.

"Annoying."

Hearing another roar Xilo was getting tired of it as he got closer. "Just kill it." He wasn't thinking straight as the blue light soon started to envelop him while the shadow got larger and more clear to him while he walked. Astral Beasts had long stopped trailing him ever since he started walking towards it almost like they were scared of him or maybe whatever was in the distance but he didn't have the mental capacity at the moment to ponder such things. He simply just didn't care, all he wanted was to wreak havoc against everything around him and fall asleep.

*Grrrtttt*

As the blades on his legs dragged along the ground he impatiently made his way there trying to conserve energy. In that lone wasteland in the middle of nowhere only two figures existed at this point. One was a man deformed by blades and the other in the distance was a medium sized figure that the world had never seen before. With hundreds of different body parts from all kinds of Astral Beasts and things it was a mass of Astral Energy that radiated power and fear along with disgust. It was like someone smashed hundreds of Astral Beasts together into a ball and called it a day never bothering to fix it as it silently chewed on the next Astral Beast in line that willingly walked into its open mouth full of thousands of teeth that looked like sharp blades. Watching it's glowing teeth chomp down was the last thing the Astral Beast saw as it met its demise completely carefree. Meanwhile the Astral beasts behind it didn't care either as they all followed the blue light on top of it's head that called for them.

Soon Xilo stepped into a position where he could finally lay his eyes on the Beast properly as he looked at it from afar. "Big." Was the only thought he had at the moment though and right now it's size didn't scare him, nothing did. He was on a one track path to destruction and if something wanted to get in his way then he'd just kill it or die trying. "Looks fun." With a bit of lunacy he measured it's strength and felt his blood boil at the thought of a challenge.

"Seventh layer or so, maybe eighth eh?"

He was tired and broken but right now he was smiling.

Enjoy.
