Chapter 3

Hestia's POV

Silence. That was the only thing consuming me apart from my pounding heart. I wasn't always this scared and anxious while in an interview but this is my last chance to finding a paying job after I was sucked from my last because I couldn't handle a "personal business" if you know what I mean

That nutcase wanted to "please" me sexually so he could give me a raise,as if I'm that stupid. Anyway I left the place and applied at ten different companies,some said they already had secretaries and Personal assistants while some offered a very low pay yet I was in dire need of the cash

Vrrrr!vrrr! I was startled when I heard my phone vibrating. Reaching in my purse to pull it out I saw my mom's name popping up on the screen

Pressing accept I heard my mom,"¿cómo esta la entrevista mi princesa?

"I am still waiting in line mamà and I told you I'm all grown up now stop calling me your princess,"I groaned

"¿Escuchaste que Lilith?"

Uh... oh... I knew her calling my other mom was not good at all so I was quick to respond before she said anything

"Lo siento mamá of course I'm your princess."

"That's what I thought, she snickered,anyway good luck with your interview,te llamé mas tarde,te amo también

"Adiós mamá, love you both so much but I gotta go"

I hanged up. At least I know my family has got my back and my best friends too. They always say keep your family closer to you especially your mom because she'll always be there for you no matter what and I'm so glad to have both my mother's support,and yes I have two moms who I am so proud of. They took me in when I thought no one would

"Hestia Hernandez?Can Hestia please come we are ready for her"

I quickly got up and went to the short slim brunette who called my name

Finally my butt was getting hard from all the waiting

"Please come this way," she beamed a little excited while I was freaking out

It's okay Es Just be honest with them. They say honesty is the best policy for a reason right? Oh and don't forget to maintain eye contact,okay what is wrong with me and why am I even talking to myself.I mentally face palmed

I was brought back from my subconscious argument when I heard her clearing her throat

"Please be seated Miss Hernandez,"said the woman. I really need to know her name

I sat down and my eyes found themselves glancing around the room. The decor was spot on. You could tell the person who designed this loved leather so much. There were different kinds of potted plants surrounding the spacious room. The floor was carpeted with a black woollen carpet,who does that in an office. Of course rich snobs,I scoffed at that thought. The chandelier was hanging from the ceiling all the way to middle of the room illuminating everything in sight. Huge windows that looked like.....

"Miss Hernandez I asked you a question?"

I jumped turning my eyes to the deep commanding yet soothing voice that called out to me

I was met with piercing eyes that could bore holes if they stared long. Sitted at the center was a woman. No rephrase that. A goddess.Yeah that's right

I felt my jaw dropping at her sight. From her hazel eyes to her sharp but cute nose,her short black jet hair jelled,her defined jaw that would shame any man alive and her luscious pink plump lips. I can't believe I'm saying this but it should be a crime to look this gorgeous

I am simply appreciating her beauty,don't get any ideas

Clearing all my thoughts I said to the woman"I'm sorry but please pardon me."

"I am Miss Athena Ealwood the C.E.O of The Ealwood Jewellery Companies and I asked you to tell us a little about yourself."

This is it Es. Don't screw this up

Inhale.....

Exhale.....

"My name is Hestia Hernandez,I'm a business graduate. I have worked with Poly Enterprises for three years as the Personal Assistant to the C.E.O. I'm quite open to learning more from this company if given the opportunity."

Short but precise...hmm..am a little proud of me

"Why did you leave Poly Enterprises I thought the pay is good enough."

The question I had been dreading. God why me.I groaned mentally

"I did it because I wanted to expand my territory and handle bigger things,yes I loved it there but currently I'm looking forward to bigger opportunities so I can achieve my set goals."

"What goals are those Miss Hernandez?"

Seriously! doesn't she get tired I thought I was pretty good. Although staring at her got me to conclude that she's not one to please easily. She held this hard exterior surrounding her and her cold lifeless eyes didn't help either. I wonder what made her this way

"Am sorry but that is quite personal,no disrespect."I said

"That's quite alright,so Miss Hernandez do you mind telling us about yourself outside work?"

Miss Ealwood asked

"Well I'm from a family of four,my sister Artemis and our two mothers."

I heard someone gasp at that. Is it that shocking to see two women married

It's the twenty first century don't be so closed off Imbecile.

Ignoring the reaction Miss Ealwood went ahead and nodded indicating I should go on

"I have lived all my life here in Folksville since I was thirteen years old after some tragic accident happened to me and my family when I was ten. I lost both my parents and my memories,but I was adopted at thirteen by my kind mothers and my little sister

"I am always committed when am at work and I tend to separate my personal affairs from my work to avoid distractions."

The whole time Miss Athena was staring daggers at me as if she could see the truth in my eyes. I'm only being honest

So far so good Es It's almost over. Fingers crossed I expect some good news

"That's splendid,thank you for sharing that with us, we'll give you a call Miss Hernandez. Thank you for your time."Miss Ealwood said dismissing me

"Thank you for having me and have a blessed day," I said standing up

Walking out I heard a man say,"she's really good Athy."

I smiled to myself but stopped when I heard her say,"I'll be the judge of that."

Oh come on! What's eating you up your ass. Cut me some slack woman I only gave it my best

Sighing in relief as I got out of the tall building I group called my friends.

"Hey guys I really need a drink or two,meet me at Stella's in ten." I said

The trio said yes and I took a taxi to Stella's. She's a good friend,always there to smooth out our day

"Your usual?" Stella said as soon as she saw me getting in

"Yeah,thanks Stelly the guys are coming too."

"On it"

She came back with my drink. I really don't know what she mixes in it but it's really sweet and burns a little. Just then I heard Blair squealing

"Stelly one shot of tequila pronto."

Yeah leave it to Blair to order you around like some butler,even butlers get paid unlike us

"Hey"I fist bumped Charles who took a seat next to me

"That bad huh?"Jade asked

"You know it. I mean I think it went great I just think the boss doesn't like me at all. She looks hard to please."I groaned

"Don't worry babe I know you got this,"now excuse me I got to talk to Stelly. Jade excused herself

She's been trying to get Stella to give in to her for a while now. She won't stop even after five big FAT No's from Stella

"Yeah good luck with bending her."Charles shouted after her

I laughed at that. Stella like me is straight unlike my two best friends and I'm not against anyone who's in the LGBT community. I mean hey my moms.........that would be stupid

"Let's toast to Es's success,coz I know you're getting this job." Charles raised his glass and clinked it with mine and Blair's

"Drink up my pretty I'll be driving us home."Charles winked walking away, probably going to get a guy or a girl. Who knows?

"Yeah sure" I replied

"I'm going to the bathroom babe,hold on" Blair said

Then I was left alone with my drink in hand and my thoughts. Since Ken was found guilty and locked up for seven years I've been at peace.I still can't believe I'm finally rid of his toxic ways

Shaking my head at the thought,I asked for another drink.This is gonna be a long evening I thought as I chugged down the second glass. I know am gonna regret this in the morning with my hangover but what the heck,it's already the weekend I can always sleep in

It's not like I have anywhere important I need to be
