-years later-

In an endless forest where the moon was forever up in the sky, a destructive battle took place. A massive dinosaur like monster that towered towards the sky was slowly walking towards the 2 men in front of it, however it had a large gaping hole in its chest and yet it was still pushing forward, not flinching from the pain at all.

"Why won't this bitch go down! Its heart is gone!"

"It's charging again!-

*boom*

A beam of death lit up the entire surrounding area with a bright crimson light, it was a near perfect straight line of pure devastation and it immediately turned the entire mountain range behind the men into nothing as the rock was literally vaporized into thin air.

Fortunately, Ferris was quick enough to avoid instant death however, it wasn't the case for Evan and in a stupid turn of events, the towering monster finally kicked the bucket from that massive attack, It was as if a malevolent force took control of the monster to take Evan's life before the monster died in order to mock Ferris.

Evan was just a few inches short before the beam hit him, it was a deep and life threatening cut, you could even make out the shape of a bone just from glancing at the wound.

"Hey! stay with me! I-I'll do something just-

"Ferris... you're the last dude for anyone to seek healing from.. hah" He said with a smug despite his fatal wound

"Stop fucking around!" Ferris shouted

"We've been fighting this monster for too long... the gate is about too close in minutes so hurry up and leave..."

"You're the only one left!"

".... ah... that's right.. aackk! aah... hah.. we're the last 2 left.. if you go back outside, you'll be the last man on Earth"

"Ferris... to be honest... I didn't really care when I suddenly became an S rank hunter, aah... that's why you sought after me right? not because I was some random hobo in the streets that needed help?-

"don't say that... please"

"no... it's fine, actually.. now that I remember, I stole a lot of food from other people... I probably ruined their day huh?"

His vision was starting to get darker and darker, the only thing he saw was the blurry face of his comrade and the forest that was on fire because of the fight. At that point he could barely feel the lower half of his body.

"sorry for being late about this but... thanks, the food at that restaurant was delicious...

"Evan? EVAN!"

"haaaa... " Ferris exclaimed

His pace slowed down to a walk because he was already out of breath, along with what was going on inside his mind. His expression was perplexed as he kept his eyes shut tight from the light.

(.... wait a minute.... there is a chance that he got that explosive boost since he was between life and death.... I left that gate quickly before it closed and left him there... I didn't bother to check if he actually died... Does that mean he still might be here? albeit old... or he left some form of footprint here? time flows faster in this world afterall... )

He continued the walk and eventually ended up at his destination in no time.

(those people look like priest alright... and some strong looking guards.. they'd beat the hell out of me if I look at them the wrong way...) he thought

He sat on a bench in the sidewalk as he stared at the grand structure that looked exactly like a cathedral except with different symbols and some minor architectural differences. Surprisingly, it kinda operated like a church in Earth would.

(looks pretty normal on the outside... what does the church have to do with the Todias family? I need to look into behind the scenes)

"hup..(thankfully the guards are too lazy to even do their jobs properly)"

Ferris jumped over a fence behind the cathedral that lead towards what seemed to be the garden, it was quite spacious and was filled with nature so getting caught with all these shrubs and trees to hire at would be an unlikely case.

"wow.. feels like I'm in a different place already, looks like they don't hold back on these gardens" he mumbled, surprised by the scale of the garden

He snuck around the garden like an amateur burglar, luckily for him the garden didn't have much people or any at all. Soon after breaking in, he went inside a structure that was seperated from the main cathedral, although it wasn't the main structure it seemed equally as elegant in design and scale.

(no one is here...?!)

He suddenly heard a massive cheer inside the cathedral, quickly followed by singing voices.

(I guess their mass is ongoing.. I guess all the staff here should be busy at the cathedral, that's why no one is here, this is perfect) he thought with slight smug

The interior was pure white with a reflective marble floor, the design of the walls were beautifully crafted by a professional artist along with paintings that decorated each room and at the end of hallways.

As he snooped around each room without any permission of anyone, he left no stone unturned as he opened anything that could be opened like drawers and even closets.

(it's just paper work, paper work, paper work... and some ceremonial tools.... nothing important is here... Hm?)

Ferris went into a certain room which had what seemed to be some sort of massive door, he approached it but there wasn't any indication on how to open it.

"a vault maybe?" he mumbled, his mind was puzzled by the secrets behind the door

"you there!"
