The inside of the auction house was very luxurious, decorated with gold and many other gems. Making his way towards the receptionist he asked.
"Can I sell something?"
The receptionist was a very pretty lady, looking at her watch she said with a gorgeous smile.
"Yes, follow me," she said, walking into the elevator.
Frank was quite afraid of following someone who he didn't know, he didn't know what he was doing, and his plan was something he pulled out of his ass. He reassured himself somehow that no matter what, he would disappear within 10 hours, going back to his timeline.
The receptionist's inquiry about his reticence caught him off guard, prompting him to stumble over his words in response. Rubbing his head awkwardly, he struggled to find the right words to convey his thoughts.
"It's not that I'm not talkative," he began, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "I just... I'm not really sure what to say."
The receptionist's warm and inviting demeanor eased some of Frank's apprehension, her willingness to engage him in conversation offering a small comfort in the midst of his unease.
"I can answer any of your questions," she offered, her voice gentle and reassuring as she lowered herself to his eye level, meeting his gaze with a friendly smile.
Frank couldn't help but be struck by her kindness, her pretty expression putting him slightly at ease. Despite his lingering doubts and fears, he found himself drawn to her warmth, grateful for her offer of assistance in this strange and unfamiliar world.
"Is there a library anywhere near here"
With a small cough, the receptionist responded to Frank's question, offering him guidance on how to spend his time while the auction house processed his payments. She informed him about the library located within the auction house, suggesting it as a suitable place for him to pass the time.
Exiting the lift on a random floor, Frank followed the receptionist down a long corridor flanked by hundreds of doors on both sides. As they walked forward, she provided further instructions.
"Enter any room with a free board on the door," she explained, gesturing towards the doors lining the corridor. "Your items will be inspected to be sold directly to the auction house or to be put up for auction."
Taking in her words, Frank nodded in understanding, grateful for her guidance in navigating the intricacies of the auction house. With a sense of purpose, he scanned the doors for any available space, eager to proceed with the next steps of his journey
Leaving the receptionist at the life he walked along the hallway looking at every door. It took quite a while to find a free room, knocking on the door, he heard permission from the other side to enter immediately.
Walking he saw an empty room with only a table in the middle with a man wearing round glasses and an expensive-looking suit. Sitting on the opposite chair he took out the [BUDDIST WAR CULTIVATION TECHNIQUE], [9 CONTINUOUS FIST TECHNIQUE], [ELEMENTAL BEAST EGG] from the pouch to be inspected.
As the inspector laid eyes on the manuals before him, a look of profound astonishment crossed his features. He appeared so taken aback that he nearly flipped the table in his excitement, his gaze fixated on the manuals with an intensity akin to reverence.
Adjusting his glasses with trembling hands, the inspector gingerly picked up the manuals, handling them as though they were a sacred artifact. His demeanor exuded a mixture of awe and respect, as if he were beholding something of unparalleled significance.
"Sir," he began, his voice filled with deference, "would it be permissible for these items to be inspected by a senior inspector?"
The gravity of the situation was not lost on him, and he recognized the importance of having someone with greater expertise and authority assess the value of such extraordinary finds. With a deep sense of reverence, he awaited Frank's response, understanding the significance of the moment and the potential implications of their discovery.
Feeling unable to decline the inspector's offer, Frank reluctantly accepted, rising from his seat with a sense of trepidation. Meanwhile, the receptionist discreetly moved to a corner of the room, where she activated a hidden mechanism on the wall. In response, an inscription on the floor began to glow with a faint blue light.
"Sir," the junior receptionist explained, gesturing towards the glowing array, "if you stand on the teleportation array, we will be transported to the highest floor of this building where the senior inspector is located."
Frank couldn't help but feel a twinge of apprehension at the prospect of being teleported to an unknown location. Despite his reservations, he forced a wry smile, attempting to lighten the mood with a touch of humor.
"Yeah," he quipped, "nothing like being teleported to an unknown location."
With a mixture of curiosity and unease, Frank stepped onto the teleportation array, bracing himself for the unknown as the blue light enveloped him, transporting him to his destination atop the highest floor of the building.
He stood on the teleportation array preparing himself for the teleportation to start. The junior inspector informed him that he could be nauseous for a while after teleporting.
This teleportation felt very different from the tear of a time angle, he felt like all the atoms in his body shifting from one place to another. After teleportation nausea hit hard, holding onto his stomach he tried to calm down, trying not to barf.
The junior inspector not minding him ran towards the senior inspector, They had been teleported to a large hall, with only one table in the middle.
"Your highness, we found some ancient art manuals" shouted the junior to the senior inspector, almost falling down a couple of times.
Sitting on a couch in a corner of a room as instructed by the senior inspector. It took almost 20 minutes for the inspector to speak after inspecting the manuals.
"May I know where you got these?" asked the senior inspector.
"None of your business" replied Frank in an intimidating voice. not wanting his voice to crack.
Thinking a little the senior inspector replied.
"I don't know what to tell you, first you don't have an identification number or have somehow hidden it so we can't credit you any money, and secondly distribution of unauthorized art manuals is banned. The best we can do is exchange the art manuals for something of your liking and this beast egg is extremely common, its value is close to nothing so you can take it back"
"I'm not sure how my master will react to this, but I'm open to the exchange," Frank replied, his tone cautious yet willing. "However, I'll need to ensure that whatever I exchange for is of equal value. I'll also need to prepare it within the next 7 to 8 hours."
Glancing around the room, Frank considered his options carefully, weighing the potential consequences of his decision. Despite the uncertainty of the situation, he remained determined to see the exchange through, determined to uphold his end of the bargain while safeguarding his own interests.
Having agreed to the arrangement Frank was escorted to the library while they arranged items for the trade.
'They only agreed to the trade because they probably didn't know about my background, I'm sure me mentioning my master will scare them a little' thought Frank, making his way towards the library.
Reaching the library Frank asked about today's date, calculated to be 895 years in the future. He was given a tablet like gadget on which one could read any book allowed by the government, while also having the choice to read physical copies of books.
He read books for the next 8 hours until management from the auction house asked him to follow them, The history of the world didn't surprise him much, it was human nature to rise to the peak and fall back down to raise again. He read books about Qi theories, body training, and the geography of the world. he didn't have the luxury to study geography back in his time.
He went through another teleportation array with the member of the auction house leading him to another dimly lit hall, that had no windows or doors. The senior inspector waiting for him in the middle.
"Pick any three items from here," said the inspector.
"If it were my guess this is probably your collection, you better hope this isn't a scam, for your sake" replied Frank showing his prideful demeanor.
He only had about 40 minutes before he disappeared, walking up to each item he used to inspect them all. the best item he picked out were.
[SPEAR OF THE GROUND ELEMENTAL], [ELEMENTAL GRAPES], [DIMENSIONAL RING] were the items he picked up, bidding his goodbyes he left the auction house through a teleportation array instructed by the auction house member. Leaving the auction house as fast as he could, ran towards the nearest dark alley without any surveillance.
As the time came to the end, poof he disappeared from his location reappearing back in his room and in his timeline.
