Chapter 5: Break down in the rain, sounds fun.

Throughout my day, I sat in the library Aragon reading as I watched the raindrops slide down the glass. I was sitting under a towel cold from the thing I was watching run down the window. I really wanted to walk in the rain. I wanted everything to just leave me and I wanted to go into the thing in this world that makes me feel the best.

It was already lunchtime and I had been watching the rain the whole time. It was time to go to the lunchroom, so Aragon and I walked there together while we talked about books. I don't know why he chose to hang around me.

Argon was going to class, so he could be an English teacher. Hanging out with me he really doesn't learn anything about his dream. He just learns how I escape my problems. From knowing him only a couple of hours I knew he was a sweet person, and he wanted to teach helping and let students grow. He wasn't in it for a job for money (with the wadge they were paid now that money would be a weird reason.)

Once we reached the lunchroom and after a few seconds of glares, I was getting from Alex and his friends all eyes were on me. I was used to it by now, so I just walked ignoring everything. When everyone started to look at me I would be scared and panic, but now nothing really matters to me. It was sad, but the truth.

I grabbed a small meal and talked with Aragon. Everything seemed normal with me, but he and I both knew that wasn't true. I was just ignoring the real problem here. I would rather ignore it then confront it at the moment.

We started to head back to the library Ashton stopped me. He smiled at me politely and gave Aragon a quick look. He was obviously confused, but he didn't voice it.

He looked at me uncomfortable but said, "okay so my parents and I are going to be out for a while. Since my little brother, Vincent really likes you, so they wanted to know if you would babysit him tomorrow night."

"I'm up for it," I said as I smiled at him.

He looked at me happily and said, "thank you so much, I'll tell them. You'll be heavily compensated."

I looked at him and said as my voice went down a tone, "I don't need money. It's okay."

Aragon and I walked away and continued to talk about random books here and there throughout the library. He was a great person to talk about books with he is very well-read. When two people with the hobby of reading talk they can talk for hours.

The last bell of the day rang. I was laid out on the floor of the library reading a book. Aragon was on one of the couches reading. And the random people throughout the library were sprawled out like we, or we're doing classwork.

I got up, marked the page I was on in my book, then I shook Aragon out of his book reading trance. He looked at me his face went from annoyed to happy in seconds. I smiled back and a question randomly popped into my head.

"If you're a college student why do you have to stay with your aunt while your mom and dad are out of town?"

"Because when I'm left home alone I read for hours and before I know it they are back and it has been a week without eating much," he said as he marked his page in his book.

I laughed at him and his face turned a tint of red. We got up and headed out of the school. We reached the front doors. He was on his way to his car when he noticed that I started to walk in the opposite direction of the car parking area.

He looked at me and called out, "do you need a ride?"

"No thank you I want to walk in the rain," I replied.

I turned around and I smiled as I listened to the water droplets hit the ground. It was raining hard enough that when a tear slipped from my eyes I couldn't tell. After three of them, I started to wipe my face. I wasn't that far from the school which was embarrassing, but luckily we were the last ones to leave.

"Are you okay," Aragon said as he stood next to me.

I just stood there looking straight ahead. He took sighed, then he grabbed onto my backpack and pulled it off my shoulders. I just sat on the ground since I was already soaked in water. Aragon walked away for a second he returned not holding my items.

He sat beside me, and he sat there looking off int the sky with me as I silently cried. He was just there not leaving me alone in the rainy streets as it got dark. After ten minutes passed I looked at him. He had his eyes closed and was listing to the sound of the rain. He looked relaxed.

I took that time to notice his outfit. When I first saw him in the tree he wore a tan sweater with a black suit coat, and he had on black pants that looked like dress pants. The longer I looked at him the more similarities I could see the similarities. At some point, he changed into a t-shirt and jeans. I believe it was at one time when I was focused on my book before the last bell rang.

I wiped my face from stray tears and luckily since it was raining my eyes wouldn't be too red. My clothes were soaked, but I didn't care. I felt bad that Aragon was now soaked and sitting there.

After a while of him being silent and sitting there, I asked, "Aragon what are you doing?"

"Nothing much," he said as his eyes opened. He smiled at me and I gave him a confused smile back.

I got up from as my legs were getting numb and I stretched. The rain always made me feel better. It was strange that I randomly started to cry. I never really do that and never in front of people. It could have just made me feel sad because the rain that I loved so much stopped feeling as I loved it. the calming drops of the rain just felt cold.

"Come on," Aragon said as he grabbed my wrist and started to pull me somewhere.

Normally I would have fought back to someone. And for goodness' sake, I knew that being dragged somewhere was not good. I just followed him not really paying too much attention, but enough to know which directions we turned. If things did come to worst I could run away.

After ten minutes of walking, we were standing in front of a house. Aragon walked up to the door and knocked. A person who looked older than him maybe by a year opened the door.

The man looked at Aragon and said, "Hey little bro, aren't you supposed to be with our aunt?"

"Yes I am," he said glaring at the man.

The man looked at me and said, "oh who is this pretty girl? Please tell me she is 18 bud your 21 that is not good if anything happens."

The look on Aragon's face showed that he didn't even think about asking. His face slowly turned red knowing what his brother was hinting at. I wasn't dumb, so I knew what he was talking about.

I smiled at him and said confidently, "hello, my name is Avery. Avery Amethyst Evergreen. I am a senior in high school, and I am actually 18 as of a month ago."

He smiled and held his hand out to me and said, "I'm Hunter. Hunter Bay Ferrous. I'm twenty-five and the older brother to this nerd. It's nice to meet you."

I took his hand and shook it. he had calloused hands so you could tell he used his hands in a form of work. His clothing looked expensive and his house was more so. he had green eyes while his brother had blue. And black while his brother had almost gray. You could see similarities in face structure though.

Hunter's hair was disheveled and you could see by the messiness of his clothes being thrown on he was in a hurry. He clearly didn't notice the hickey that was on his neck and the lipstick on his shirt. Behind him inside the house, there was a room full of books. There were books on the ground in the living room. I guess reading runs in their family.

"It feels like you can see my soul little girl," he said letting go of my hand.

"Oh, sorry habit of mine I've been trying to break," I said as I put my hand to my side.

Hunter's attention went to his little brother who was watching me carefully, "so little bro what are you doing here?"

"I need to grab a change of clothes from my room here. And something for her. We're both soaked, and she has had a bad day," Aragon said giving his brother a serious look.

Hunter stepped aside and Aragon walked in pulling me along with him. He brought me into the living room and told me to stay there and not touch any of the books since I was still soaked. I looked around the room looking at it in detail. The wall color and the decor showed that two people lived here, but not in an intimate relationship and are males. I could guess safely the two boys' relationship was good and Aragon stayed over here a lot.

After a moment Aragon walked out holding an outfit and said, "it won't fit, but it should be okay enough till we can wash and dry your clothes."

I nodded and said, "thank you."

He smiled and said, "upstairs inside the dark blue and gray pained room take a shower in there. It's my room, so you won't have to worry about someone walking in on you. Put your clothes in the hamper once you're done taking a shower."

I nodded and made my way upstairs. When I got into the bathroom I took a really quick and hot shower. Once I was done I got changed. The shirt was a graphic t-shirt with a cartoon dragon on it. it was short-sleeved. He gave me a pair of small boxes. The pants clearly weren't going to fit, but at least the shirt would fit like a dress. It went past mid thy and it would be school appropriate.

I've never been so thankful for having a small stature. If this wasn't I wouldn't have even thought about leaving the room. Honestly, I think this shirt is too big for Aragon.
