Chapter 3: Finally What I Have Been Waiting For.

When I got home I ran inside and into my room. I jumped onto my bed and immediately regretted it. I landed on my arms and they hurt. I rolled onto my back and laid out my arms on my bed, I remembered that my small and big wounds needed some air.

I walked into my bathroom and I took off my bandages and I took a quick shower. The hot water burned my skin and my various wounds all over my arms. I Washed my arms thoroughly not wanting them infected. You could see various scars all over my body from being clumsy through the years.

Not all of it was clumsy but the cruelty of kids. Being pushed on concrete hurts if its grass you slide a bit. I've never had any luck when it comes to having people be my friends, but why would I think this new school would be any different. It's not like they would let me back next year anyway.

When I was done with my shower I got changed into a large t-shirt and shorts. I sat at my desk and started to read wanting to complete my goal of finishing this book I have been working on reading. I loved going to the escape of my dreams or just the escape of sleep, but it could wait while I read this book.

Once I read the last chapter of the book I had been reading it was 12:30 am. I knew that it was late, so I went to bed. When I covered my self with the blanket and fell asleep everything around me went black as entered the land of sleep.

When I woke up to my alarm, my body was happy to get six hours of sleep. It normally has to run on an hour or none, so the energy that I had made me jump out of bed. Not actually, but I got out of the bed quickly and energetically. Sleep more or less doesn't change my mood, but it does change how I wake up. When I don't sleep a lot I tend to fall out of bed, hurting my self in the presses.

I looked at my bed to see that the paper towels I put under my arms and neck as I slept did a good job keeping blood from seeping through. I didn't even bleed much on the towels since most of my wounds are closed. I cleaned up the mess from the towels, then I made my bed.

I walked out of my room for breakfast and Ashton was in my living room talking to my brother. I ignored them and I got my self some food. I finished my bowl of cereal I went to the dining room. I had a clear view of the duo sitting in the living room, and they could see me too.

One glance at my arm and a look of panic and worry sent through my brother's eyes. Ashton just looked at me shocked, then that's when I remembered that I don't like people seeing me without my bandages. I glared at my brother, but he clearly forgot about what has been all over my body for a few weeks now.

My brother looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Avery what happened to you?"

I looked at him with a bored expression and said, "oh you know fell out of a tree, you broke my window, Houdini. The normal stuff."

I finished my food and I hurried back into my room and I got changed into my clothes. I looked at the uniform the school had and I hated it at that moment. Since it was warm out it was short-sleeved and I had a skirt I had to wear. You could see all of my bandages, but luckily saw my scared up legs because of my leggings.

I called the school and the office lady answered with a pleasant voice, "Hello, what can I do for you?"

"I'm a student I need to talk to the principle about the dress code," I said in a monotone voice.

"Give me a second sweetheart," the lady said, and she put me on hold.

Another second passed and I heard the voice of my principle say, "hello?"

I smiled and replied into the phone, "ah yes, finally. So its Avery. You know how I have all of those bandages. Is there a way I can wear an outfit that is school appropriate to school, so I can hide them more?"

"It's been half a year why are you saying something now?"

"Oh, it's just that I'm tired of the eyes of everyone on me. I can abide by a dress code, but I just want to hide my arms and legs."

"Oh, dear. So you have a note the doctor said that you were hurt. I guess you can wear whatever you want as long as it goes with the dress code for the public schools."

"Thank you!"

"You're welcome I'll come to check on you under the tree you hang out in during first class I must speak to you in person."

"Okay," I said as I hung up the phone.

I grabbed an outfit like yesterday and put it on. black turtleneck, black t-shirt white outline of a lion, and high-waisted jeans and black shoes. I wrapped my arms and neck as normal, grabbed my stuff, and ran out the door towards the school.

I stopped when I saw my parents were talking to Ashton's parents happily. I slowed down and stopped at my car to grab a protein bar and a few pieces of candy. I started to walk past them, but I was suddenly hugged by the small boy.

"Hello little guy, it's nice to see you again," I said as I hugged him back.

My mother's attention reached me, and she shrieked, "Avery I would never think of you to skip school young lady. I'm not dumb I know your school has a uniform."

"I called the principal and I asked if I could wear normal clothes, and she said yes because of my special circumstances," I said as I took a bite out of my protein bar.

With the confused look that Ashton's mom gave mine, my mother said, "my daughter is really clumsy and has bad luck. She always gets cuts, scratches, and bruises. She got bit on the neck not too long ago by the neighbor's dog-"

"Don't say his name, or he will come running," I warned.

She ignored and said, "Houdini, and she climbs too much and falls out of them, and she hurt her arms from that."

Houdini heard his name being called, and he ran from behind the gate they had growling and slobbering towards me. they looked at the fright on my face and almost laugh until it jumped up and bit my arm. I grabbed the dog by its scruff as it barked and tried to bite me again. I pushed the boy back to his parents and I glared at my mother. She looked at me shocked.

I knocked on my neighbor's door and the older lady came out and took her dog and apologized. I told her it was fine. It was because I was the only one getting hurt. she closed the door I walked back to my mother.

"Avery is so cool mom," the little boy shouted and smiled a toothy grin at me. "She took on that mean dog and didn't even flinch."

"Are you okay Avery," my mother said looking at me guiltily.

I smiled at her and said, "yes, I'm going to school now I love you."

I turned away from them heading towards school. I hope it's better than yesterday, but I will never know until I get there. Who knows, I might have a great day.
