Chapter Four-Family

The mansion was too huge to be called one:it was simply a castle. Everything about it is just wonderful and magnificent. That was the home of the Akeems. The drive way was exceptional while the painting screamed wealth and as for the inside house: From the living room to the kitchen and dinning room which were richly decorated not to talk of the individual bedrooms, the mansion is simply where everyone would want to stay.

The cab stopped right in front of the driveway and the young lady got down from it with a smile: she thanked the driver and informed him to come pick her up early the next morning which he promised to she smiled at him one more time before making her way towards the mansion. An elderly woman was waiting for her by the doorway with a huge smile plastered on her face. She noticed her and hurried to hug her " Welcome back my dear Raina, how was work today?" The woman asked her as she took her bag from her hand. " Great!" She exclaimed happily and the woman nodded " Good to know" she added and they walked in the house clinging to each other:

" But I'm very hungry!"Raina complained and the woman gave her a shocked look "Don't tell me you skipped lunch today?"she questioned worriedly.

Raina rolled her eyes out of habit " I had to because I was busy with work!" She explained

" You see the reason why your father never wanted you to work" she began and Raina only sighed " This chattering won't solve anything just give me my food Mrs Margarita"she blurted out.

Mrs Margarita only nodded " But before that you have to freshen up, say your prayers before you can come down and eat!" She informed her.

"Yeah yeah, I know!" She took her bag from and ascended the numerous stairs leading to her room. She was very hungry no she was famished. So she quickly took off her clothes and took a cold shower after which she did her ablution, changed into her praying robe and offered all the Sallat she had missed throughout the day. By the time she was done she turned to see the least person she had expected to see; Saiba. She was standing by the doorway munching on an apple while she smirked at her. Raina ignored her as she got up and began folding her prayer mat.

"If you hadn't noticed I'm standing here!" Saiba announced more in a sarcastic way. Raina turned to give her a bored stare " why are you here?" She asked her and Saiba only shook her head as she entered fully in the room and jumped on the huge bed happily " Chill lady I'm only here because I was invited for a family dinner!"she revealed but she got a quizzical look in return;

" Who invited you and why were you even invited?" She rolled her eyes to the question. " One I was invited because I'm also part of this family and Two, I get to come because my parents can't make it" She managed to say with half filled mouth. " That doesn't still answer my question!" Raina said as she changed into her sleeping robe.

" I invited her!"a familiar voice interrupted and they both turned to see the tall figure standing by the door. He looked good in his black suit and his hair was neatly shaved to suit his handsome face:

"RidWan!"Raina exclaimed as she ran to hug him happily and he also received her in his arms. " I can really see that I was missed by someone!" He said obviously joking. Raina let go of him and glared at him " I only missed you just a little!" She denied and he chuckled " I can really see that!"He teased only to receive a punch on his shoulder by her "Seriously you should grow up!" He hissed rolling his eyes. " So how was your first business trip?" She inquired very curious to hear the result.

" Well...!"he stressed as he took a sit on the single sofa available in her luxurious room " Let's just say I got the papers signed!" He said expressionless.

Raina moved to sit beside him " Meaning..?"She asked with rapt attention and RidWan nodded " Meaning it was successful!" He exclaimed and received a bone cracking hug from her: " I'm so happy for you, father's gonna be proud of you!" She cheered him.

" Just let go of me you are breaking my bones!" He pushed her away from him playfully and got up to adjust his suit " He should be!" He added and made his way to the door " Both of you should come down and join the rest of us, I have an announcement to make!" He informed them finally before leaving the room. Saiba immediately cleared her throat after he left but Raina cared less about her action.

" Why didn't you reveal to me that the Architectural Company you were working at was QB?" She demanded tersely.

" I never saw that to be your business"Raina replied curtly as she sat by her dressing mirror and began combing her hair. " Are you kidding me?" Saiba rushed to stand behind her so she could see her face through the mirror: " Do you even know who owns this company?" Raina was getting tired of Saiba's weird behavior so she refused to reply; " You are working for the famous,rich and handsome billionaire:Quincy Brown and you hide this from me?"Saiba couldn't also believe Raina could hide such information from her.

" I also only got to know today okay"Raina retorted and got up. She made her way to the door " Are you gonna come or stand there and keep making a meaningless fuss?" She questioned her losing her patience. Saiba only shook her head as she followed Raina downstairs.

Everyone sat by the long dinning table with their served food in front of them. The was awkward silence as they ate but one particular person was given momentarily stares. She seemed not to have noticed it as she paid attention to the meal in front of her which she seemed to be enjoying. She was white and very beautiful and seemed to be in her middle twenties. Her hair was black and long and she had on a long pink gown, her makeup was light but seemed to enhance her beauty more.

She was the announcement RidWan wanted to make as he had just introduced her as his fiancée." Shaniya right?" Their mother, Lydia began in order to reduce the tension which had overcomes the whole place.

"Yes Ma'am!"She replied but Lydia chuckled " I'd rather you call me by my name!"she informed her and Shaniya nodded. " Right, can you tell us a bit about yourself?" She enquired politely. Shaniya cleared her throat " Well, there isn't much to say I'm the second out of three daughters, I'm twenty five and my father is a business man in Cairo!" She said as simple as possible and sipped the juice from her glass.

" Well, that's good to know and I wished you had met RidWan's dad but he's out of the country on a business trip and he should be back in two days!"

" I would look forward to meeting him soon!" Shaniya revealed as her gaze went to Raina who was quietly eating; " You must be Raina right? RidWan also talks about you!" She said and Raina smiled at her " It's nice to meet you Shaniya!" Shaniya nodded as she returned the smile.

" I'm Saiba, RidWan and Raina's only cousin!" Saiba also introduced herself. " It's nice to meet you too Saiba!" She informed her . Saiba nodded as she shifted her attention back to her meal. " So when do you two plan to get married?" Lydia questioned and everyone turned to look at RidWan. He grinned and reached for Shaniya's hand from across the table: " In three months time!" He announced smiling. Their eyes widened: " That's near!"  Raina exclaimed.

"Yeah but we are planning something small not so big so three months should be enough!" He explained. " In three months time it is then, wait till your dad hears this!"Lydia said excitedly. She turned towards Raina who seemed happy to hear about her brother's marriage: " How was work today?"she asked her.

"Good!" She nodded in addition.

" Remember only focus on your work and avoid any bad relationship okay?" She cautioned her.

" Yeah yeah I will!" She blurted out moving her head from left to right. Lydia patted her shoulder as a grin played by the corners of her lips. They all continued eating in silence again.
