Chapter 21

Isaac take a deep breath before he start his long speech for the girl. First, he need to rearrange all the words in his mind into a proper sentences. He can't blurt out everything and discard the main points just to make his explanation please to the ear.

Since Ivy is a quick witted person, she must have actually got a sniff of his real reasons. And it is not some small matter to hide from her forever. It is better for him to make it clear to her before it is too late. Better safe than sorry. After all it might help him in the matter as long as she cooperate with him.

Thinking deeply, Isaac tell her the reasons why he always had bodyguards around him. No matter how much he want to avoid the subject, he had to approach it sooner or later. So, he become determined to open his mouth even and failed her expectation.

"Ivy, I'm sorry to break this news to you. I am not sure whether it will discourage or cause you devastate, but I can't do that for you. I can't just dissolve the security as you asked for. Honestly, even I can't do it even for myself. I tried to solve the problem at first but it turns out it is a never ending fight."

"There is too many danger lurking around wherever we go. My family and I have way too many enemies lurking around in light and in the dark. You know it right, we are quite well off in this country and even this continence."

"I used to get kidnapped when I was just twelve. They hijacked the car that I ride to and from school. The driver dead on the crashed scene. They take me away and demand for several things from my family in exchange to let me go. Not only had they asked for ransom, they want my family prepared their escape route and vehicles for their escape from the police."

"There is one time where we were threat by our partner in business. They demand that we will only cooperate with them whenever we have project. They threat us using all means they can do to make it happen in their way."

"Since then, wherever and whenever I want to go, there is usually at least two cars of security on the ground and maybe a few more in the dark. Who knows." Isaac finish his long explanation and take peek at Ivy's face to catch any change on her face.

"I know that you will need a lot of time to digest, you can take all the time you need. But, whenever you are going out, there will always at least two security to watch over you. That is all I can do for you. As I can only get away only that much from them. I don't want to take any risks for you. Better safe than sorry." Isaac shrugged his shoulder.

All this times, Isaac, too would love to move around without being watch. However, for his safety and to get the elders not worrying too much about him, he had to compromise with it. It is unfortunate for both of them as they had no other way but to have the guards around for their own safety.

He knows that with the presence of the guards around them, they will always attracting a lot of attention more than they needed. Ivy must have felt stuffy at this short time with him. He had the same feeling all this years. Due to the rules, even the guards were helpless and can't help but do as they were all ordered to do.

Ivy, who pretend not to hear the story. She act all indifferent while she tried to open her bag and take out the other half of chocolates from the day before. She need chocolates for her brain to get to work.

*Let's just say, her brain need was like car that need fuel to move forward. Although there are already electric vehicles that does not fuel, but they still need electric energy to move right. Whatever it is, that is the same concept. Energy is needed to make one move. *

When Isaac can't read Ivelyn's facial expression, he release a deep breath. His patience keep being challenge by the girl indifference. She was like a robot with nothing showing on his face.

"If you know about those danger surrounded you and your family, why would you need me here? I'm sure that you realise that the further you are from me the safer it is for me to live my life. That way, I don't have to leave my peaceful life there and I would not need to be surrounded by those guys all the time, isn't?"

"Actually, I do at first. As time goes by, I have way to strong foundation and those people did not get their hand on me anymore. When they can't find any weakness on me, they keep on digging about my family and past. That is where you come into scene."

"They get to know about your existence when they located about the time I spend at Country A. Those enemies tried to find you in broad day light. I can't just sit still and let them hurt you because of me. So I step in and save you from the possible trouble and threat." Isaac explain the reasons of his sudden presence in front of her at Country A.

"Urgh... then when can I get my freedom back of you don't settle this even after ten years. I want to have my own life free from problems and worries. Why is it so hard for me to obtain at least that." grumble Ivy. She hate the idea having people eyes keep take one after another glance at her when she walk around.

"I can give you freedom in making decision on your own. Of course, there is a boundary that I will set before that. We can negotiate on that one. I will let you make your own decision as long as it anything but illegal trade, leaving this country without my permission and so on. However, you have to discuss with me beforehand about everything that will cause loss for both of us. What do you think? Is that a deal acceptable for to you?"
