Chapter 20

I pulled out the gun strapped to my thigh and aimed it at the silhouette running in the dark. The bullet hit his shoulder, slowing him down. I wanted to run after him but finally decided against it as I dropped down to the ground and pulled Hunter's head to my lap. He had already pulled out the small dagger. I could feel tears threaten to spill as I pressed onto his wound.

"Hunter.."

"So who's the spoiled brat now." He chuckled and then grunted.

"Hey, hey it's alright, don't close your eyes." I shook his shoulder a bit.

He sighed into me, "Won't be the worst way to die."

"Don't be dramatic and shut the hell up." I pulled out his phone from the pocket of his pants and dialled Dylan.

"Come immediately to the hallway near the staircase, also send two of the men outside to look for anyone suspicious, might have an injured shoulder."

I hung up without waiting for his response, watching with worry as his eyes fluttered a bit.

"So, what are we?"
