Chapter 3: Farewell Ball

I had said most of my goodbyes already at the village now I have to say my goodbyes at the palace. I'm sure there will be a ball in a few days to say goodbye and speak of the devil hear is the queen to tell me I bet you.

"Hi auntie. Let me guess you are throwing a ball to say goodbye, right?" "Yes, you know me too well." "Hey auntie can it be casual? I don't like to wear dresses they feel really uncomfortable." "Well, I'll tell you what. It can be both it can be casual but people can dress up if they wish. I'll invite some of your village friends too." "Thanks auntie that means a lot. When is the ball?" "Oh, its next week on Wednesday." "Ok cool so 3 days before I have to leave." "Yep sure is I've talked to your uncle and he thought it was a good day. He has that day off as well." "Good I'm glad. Uncle needs to take some time to relax as well. Oh, auntie I just thought of something. Why don't you and uncle adopt a child or 2 it should help you and uncle take a break from work and have a good time." "Well, I have talked to him about that as well. He is actually thinking about it too. We wanted you to come with us but you will be leaving soon." "I have an idea Auntie but I don't know if you would be ready to or not. I was thinking before I left if we could go to look if you find a child or 2 you like you can look into them. Heck I might even help you." "I'll talk to your uncle. You go to class for your review, ok?" "Ok auntie, see you later."

I went to class and I did a review test on what we talked about and I passed it of course. Its easy to memorize. This Friday is my test. As of right now it is Wednesday. Next week on this day is the ball.

Once class was over I decided I had to talk to Hawk. I wanted to know I wasn't mad at him anymore. So, I went to look for him. I was told he was in his room so I knocked on his door and I heard shuffling in there. "Just a minute!" Then he opened the door and was surprised to see me. "Uh hey Zelda. Is something wrong?" "Uh I was wondering if you wanted to take a walk but it looks like you are busy." "Uh no I wasn't I was just chilling in my room. I thew on some clothes to answer the door." "Ok well do you want to then. I think we need to talk." "Yeah sure. Let me get dressed better." "Ok I'll wait for you by the gate." So, I waited about 10 minutes and he came out. "Let's go to that place again." "OK sure."

"So now that we are here what's up?" "Well, I wanted to apologize. I'm sorry for getting so mad at you. I wasn't really mad at you. I was mad at myself and my family. I was mad at my family for not telling me all this time. I was mad not knowing it was you. I should have known. Your beautiful blue eyes. Those dragon's eyes are the same color. It was my fault that day that you attacked me. I must have startled you. I was just about 5 or 6 years old. I literally just moved there at the time and I already was in some sort of situation where I had to get a scar." "Zelda, its ok really. I'm fine. As long as you don't hate me forever that is all that matters. So, Uh…." "Huh what is it? Are you trying to ask me something?" I saw him blushing so I thought I would tease him a little. He's cute when he blushes. "So do you have a girlfriend or something?" "No that's not it. I was uh wondering there's like a ball coming up and well um…." It's cute seeing him struggle. Then he said fast. "Will you go to the ball with me?!" "What I didn't quite get that." I joked. "Will you go to the farewell ball with me?" "There it is about time idiot. Yes of course I will but I am not wearing a dress and auntie said its casual but people can dress up if they want. But don't worry I will look stunning." "I have no doubt. Is there something else bothering you?"

"Well sort of. Its just…I've only been around 2 dragons you and blizzard. By the way don't dragons have names like werewolves?" "Yeah, they do." "What is your dragon's name?" "Well, his name is Levi short for Leviathan." "Oh, I see. I'm sorry Levi, I know you didn't attack me on purpose." Then I heard him respond in my head. "Thank you I'm so sorry about that it was an accident." "I know its fine. I accept you and Hawk now." "Really you do? That is the best thing. Thank you." Then I stopped the link and something was happening to me. I wasn't floating but I felt a slight pain in my back. "What's wrong Zelda? Are you ok?" "Hawk do me a favor and look at my back. I have a feeling I have a tattoo on it." He went to my back and saw it was true. There was one of Blizzard, and a new one of Levi. "Yeah, there is. Its one of Blizzard and Levi. I guess when you accept a dragon it shows on your back. I guess that means we are at your service. We can't be far from you." "Is that a problem for you Hawk?" "NO not at all." "Ok does that mean you can come back to the palace with me?" "I sort of have to, now." "Good I'm sure my brother will miss you but I have to keep you and whoever Blizzard's human is safe too." "Uh I think you got it backwards. We are supposed to keep you safe Zelda." I sighed. "Whatever its both ways." "Ok we will go with your way." "Oh, Hawk I have a feeling I might know who Blizzard's human is. Those eyes. They remind me of a boy I met named Ezra." "Wait a minute. You've met Prince Ezra?" "You got to be kidding me. He was the prince? Holy hell. I didn't know. Well anyway those eyes remind me of him." "He might be you never know. When we leave you should ask him and see what he says." "Ok let's get back. I just wanted to apologize. I need to see someone about a couple of outfits for the ball. Yes, I am having one made for you. Trust me you will love it." Then I ran off and we went another way.

I went to the designer in the palace and secretly brought my outfit that the goddess gave me. I had her design something similar without the cape but with the pants I had her do some flames on the bottom where the seam for the ankle goes. As for my top I had her do something similar on the bottom of the shirt. The shirt and pants were blue of course and the fire was a lighter blue. There was silver around the seams of the top though. It looked awesome. Yes it was a halter top too it didn't show too much of my belly like what the goddess made me. As for Hawk's outfit, it was a dark blue green top with dark blue fire design. His pants were a dark blue with brown boots. As for his hair it was a normal disheveled look, I loved on him. The top also had silver outlining on the seams. The pants were a regular dark blue. It's a casual dressy, I think. I hope he likes it.

It had been quite a few days and the lady called for me to bring Hawk to try on his outfit. Its strange he is the same size clothes as my brother so I knew his clothes size pretty well. I got Hawk and dragged him to the designer. "Hello Hawk. I see why she chose this outfit. Please take these and try them on." Hawk took them from the lady and did as he was told. He was surprised at how good he looked. He kept turning from side to side admiring himself. I called him. "Hawk are you ok in there?" "Yeah, all good. I'll be out in a bit." Then in a few minutes he was out. "What do you think? Handsome right?" I was drinking water and spit a little out and coughed a little. "You ok Zelda?" "Yeah, I'm all good." I said coughing a little more. "I'm sorry it's just when you said that you were handsome, I remembered my brother saying he was going to be a beautiful King." "Ha-ha that he will be. Well, how do I look?" "Turn around a bit. Slowly please." He did just that. "Well, I don't see anything wrong with it." "What do you think Marissa?" "Well, he is indeed handsome. How does it fit? Do I need to change anything?" "Nope everything seems fine." "Ok good well what about you Zelda?" "Let me try it on." So I went to try it on.

I put on the clothes similar to my outfit the goddess gave me and it was comfortable. Nothing I need to change here. So, I walked out and saw them. "Oh wow you look beautiful." Said Hawk. "I know I always am." I joked. "I don't see anything wrong with this either so can I take this outfit as well?" "Yes, go ahead. I'll be there as well." "Ok cool. I'll see you there then." So, we took our outfits to our rooms.

Finally, it was the day of the ball. The ball was at nighttime. Oh, and I passed my test on Friday to let you all know. Since the ball was at night, I had to get myself ready all day according to my best friend Alanna. So, I got a special herbal bath to soften and relax my skin. I had to get my natural makeup on hair done a lot of girly stuff. I told them to leave my nails alone. I don't want them painted. I had them just do a clear coat and that was fine. They put a simple necklace on me which was in the shape of a dragon. It matched my outfit. Once I was all made up and hair done like I wanted it was almost time for the ball. Oh, my boots where the same color as the light flames. With silver folds on the boots.

There was a knock at the door and I opened it. "Wow you look…" "Gorgeous I know let's go." So, I went out and closed my door and we went to the ball room.

There were quite a few people there as well. No one dressed to casual since auntie said it was a casual dressy ball. No one was wearing ball gowns or tuxes but they were dressed pretty nice. I saw my favorite food. Hmm meat. I can't wait to eat it. I better wait. Then I saw my Aunt and she had me go over to her so she can announce that I am here and for me to make a speech. "Hello Ladies and gentleman!" Then it got quiet. I'm pleased to tell you that Zelda has arrived. Let us bring her up here for a speech!" Then everyone clapped. "Hello everyone. As you all know this is a farewell ball. I will be leaving you all. I'm not sure if its forever but I promise I will come visit. I will be leaving in 3 days to the dragon kingdom and I won't be going alone. I will be bringing 3 people. When I call your names please come up. Jazmin and Leo." Once they were up, I called the last one. "Hawk." Then he came up and everyone was shocked. "These are the 3 they will be staying with me in the dragon Kingdom. I'm sure most of you know I am the next Dragon Princess. I have to go back to finish my studies and learn how to use my powers. I…. I will miss you all. That is all. Now let's have my first dance so we can eat!" Everyone laughed and clapped.

I got on the dance floor with Hawk and we started dancing. He is a really good dancer and I really love him like another brother. If mom and dad had lived, I wonder if I would have another sibling. I guess I'll never know. I was smiling looking into Hawks beautiful blue eyes. Then the song finally finished and it was time to eat.

I went right for the meat. Hawk helped me cut some off. I'm bad at that so when I have meat at the table normally its still on the bone or its already cut up like a child. Yeah, I'm like that. Its embarrassing. Then I went for all the other good stuff and I chowed down. People wonder where I keep it all and staying so skinny. I told them I worked out with the warriors and fought with them all the time. That's what I mostly did when I wasn't sick or working on my classes. So, I mingled and danced with a few people Hawk didn't mind since I was the star of the ball today.

I needed to go out and get some air. I called Blizzard and he came down. "Are you bored Blizzard?" "I find things to do is everything ok?" "Yeah, I guess. I needed some fresh air." I leaned on him a bit. "I have a feeling I know who you are. When I found out about Hawk being the dragon that attacked me and I remembered seeing his eyes. I should have known. That got me thinking. Your eyes remind me a lot about Ezra. I just found out he was the prince. It was shocking. Can you tell me if I am right or wrong?" "Are you sure you want to know?" "Well, it would be nice to know. I mean I wouldn't mind if you were Ezra's dragon. It's embarrassing to say but when Ezra left, I couldn't stop thinking about that damn boy. He is so…. How should I put the word. Its more than handsome. He was so good looking and his hair matched your scale. White hair with icy blue highlights." "Well, he agrees for me to tell you. I am his dragon. You are right. Are you mad?" "No actually kind of happy that my first dragon accepted was you and him but why were you in the forest in your dragon form that day?" Before he could say anything, I heard someone calling for me. "Its ok you can tell me another time. I'll call you in a few days or sooner." Then he flew up. I leaned myself on a tree and looked up at the sky.

"There you are. Are you ok?" "Huh? Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I just went out for fresh air. I was just looking at the stars thinking about mom and dad." "I'm sure they are proud of you. Because I am proud of you." "Aww thanks Hawk." I hugged him tight and started crying. He felt my tears on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me to try to comfort me. "Its all right. Hopefully you will soon find out how they were killed and avenge them. I will help. That is what we dragons are here for. I'm sure your brother will help too if needed." I heard my brother calling me too. I still held on to Hawk for comfort. "What's wrong Zelda? Are you ok?" "'She's fine. Just thinking about your parents at this time." "Oh sis. Come here." I turned around and hugged my brother. "I miss them brother. Mom and Dad. Do you think they are happy for me? Hawk said they would be because he is." Hawk looked at jet. "Yes, sis mom and dad would be very happy and proud of you. Now should we freshen you up so you don't look all puffy eyed when you go back in?" "Yeah, thanks brother. Thanks Hawk. Both of you can take me to a room to freshen up.

Once I was freshened up, I went back out to join the others. "What happened are you ok?" Asked Alana. "Yeah, all good." Then I mingled ate some sweets and more meat until the ball was done. My room was next to Hawk and my brothers. Mine was in the middle Hawks was on the left and brothers on the right. We went to our rooms got changed and went to bed.
