Chapter 2: Who was the Dragon?

My brother and best friend helped me to my bed to get some rest. "Do you want to change sis?" "No I won't be asleep for long I hope. I'll be fine thanks. Just check on me in about an hour or so, ok? Let everyone else know too. I don't have the energy to even talk anymore. See…. You…. later…Guys. Thanks." Then I blacked out.

"Poor girl. She's been through a lot." "Yeah, she has more than me. OK we should go Hawk." When they left out the door, they saw a lot of people. "Oh Auntie. She said that no one come in for about an hour or so she needs rest. She will tell you once she has energy." "All right. Does she need a doctor?" "No not right now. Check on her in an hour then decide." Said Jet. "Ok well you heard him go about your business right now." Then everyone scattered.

About a couple hours later the queen and crown prince went to check on her. "She's still sleeping. She must be really tired." "Yeah, when we saw her collapsed like that, we were worried." "What? You saw her collapsed and you didn't take her to a doctor?!" "She, told me not too. She'll be fine Aunt. I promise." Said Jet. Aunt touched her forehead to check her temperature. She had a slight fever. "She has a slight fever. Go get a few rags and some cold water. Then keep an eye on your sister, ok?" "Yeah, aunt I'll let you know when she wakes up." "Ok sure." He got the rags and water and went back to her room. He dipped the rag and put it on Zelda's forehead.

The next day Zelda was still asleep. It was around noon when she was starting to wake up. "Hmm. Jet are you there?" "Yes sis. I'm here. Its noon the next day." "What? You got to be kidding me." "No, I'm not. You were tired sis." I sat up slowly. Good I'm not in pain. I thought to myself. "Do you hurt anywhere sis?" "No, I'm good. Thanks Jet. Is Hawk, ok?" "Yeah, he's fine. I'll have someone go get aunt uncle and Hawk. Oh, and Alanna is finally back. We will get her too." "Ok sure. Get someone to get them. You stay here." "Yeah, I will sis." He stepped out long enough to get someone to get those people and came back in. "OK one of the guards are getting them. How did you escape anyway? Did you ditch your guards again?" "Yeah, I did. The same way I usually do." I was quiet for a moment then I heard a voice in my head. I was startled at first. "Jeeze Blizzard don't scare me like that. I said in my head. I didn't even know we can link like this." "Well not everyone can it's one of your powers. I just tried and it worked. Glad to hear your awake and well." "Thanks Blizzard. Oh gotta go my family is here looking worried at me." "Ok Zelda. See you later." Then I came back to them. "Sorry about that. So, I suspect you need an explanation then." Once everyone got there, I explained all about what happened to me. I also told them about Blizzard but hadn't asked who his human part was yet. "That explains the outfit and your hair color. Your hair color was part of the transformation not because of strain like it was when you were younger. At least your eye color stayed the same that's good." "Yeah so, I was told. Where are my bow and arrows?" "Don't worry there in the corner of your room." Said auntie. I was relieved. "SO now that I have my dragon what is my next step?" "Well you still have to do class work to learn what you can and what you don't know you can get some info from your dragon he might know a thing or two." "Do I have class today?" "Well today you can choose too or not. I guess I will to get another chapter or two out of the way." "OK good idea. Let's go then." This time Auntie and the others escorted me just to be safe since I just woke up.

"Grace and Chaz. She decided to come today." "Oh, welcome back." Said Chaz. "Yeah thanks. Uh sorry for running out like that." "No problem its to be expected. I'm glad you weren't hurt." "Ok I'll see you guys later. Bye everyone and thanks." Then they all walked off.

"Ok so I just finished the first chapter when I ran off. I am now officially the princess dragon I just need to know what to do." "Yes, we were told earlier. So even though you are already the dragon princess, you still need to read chapter two and so on. If you have any questions let us know. If we can't help you, you can ask you dragon." "Thank you, Chaz." Then I started reading the second chapter. It was about how one becomes a dragon prince or princess. Wait has there been a prince before? I should ask. "Um Chaz?" "Yes, what is it?" "Has there been a dragon Prince before? Here it says a person can be a dragon prince or princess. Has there been anyone besides my grandma?" "No there hasn't. Your grandma was the first. Also, in a few days you won't be here anymore. You will have to finish your lessons somewhere else." "Yes, I know. It sucks but I know. When do I leave?" "Well after your done reading and reviewing you can ask the Queen." "Yes, ok sure." Then I finished reading. "Ok I've finished reading. Now that the part I was confused about was cleared up, is there a chance my kid or kids can end up as a prince or princess of the dragons?" "Hmm well that depends." "Well how did my aunt and uncle know other than grandma being a princess." Well, I guess there are signs. Maybe there is something in the book lets see here. Ah here it is. Its in the next chapter would you want to read the next chapter or do you want to wait until tomorrow." Said Grace. "I'll do it now." "Ok then." So, I sat quietly and read the 3rd chapter.

'Ok so the signs of someone becoming the next prince or princess are having dragons attract them at a young age. Check on that it attacked me but that was my fault more like I was attracted to it. I scared it. Showing small signs of power, they could have. 'Hmm I'll have to ask auntie what those were.' Their will to fight and so on. If there are more signs that is good but these are the most common ones. It is likely it skips a generation. "Huh so mom didn't have it so it skipped to me. The next generation.' Then I read on. It usually does. That doesn't mean it will always skip a generation. 'Hmm. So, my son or daughter could end up as a prince or princess of dragons. Interesting.' "Ok I've finished the chapter. It helps a lot." Then I reviewed what I read and they agreed to let me go. I would have a quiz in the next few days so in that times its mostly review.

'Ah my head is stuck in learning I need to beat it out of me right now. I wonder if I'm strong enough to fight yet. I'll go find auntie.' "Oh, hello Jazmin and Leo." Who were my guards. "Sorry I ran off like that." "Princess next time let us know where you are going. We didn't get punished this time but who knows what will happen next time." "Sorry to the both of you. I'm going to see the Queen." "Ok right this way." So, I followed them to my aunt's office. "Hello Auntie. I have a question. When do I leave for where ever I have to go." "Oh, so you've heard." "Yes, May I ask where I am going?" "You don't know that much. Sigh I think she should know dear. You are going to the dragon kingdom." "What?! You got to be kidding me. The dragon Kingdom! When do I leave?" "You leave in a week so you have time to say your goodbyes. Oh, and your guards will be able to stay with you." "Oh good. At least I have them." "I have to go Auntie. I need to be alone for a while." Then told the guards I'll be ok but I can't tell them where I'll be going. "Just be safe."

I went back to my tree and cried silently. While I was crying, I wasn't being careful of my surroundings. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I was startled at first. "Its you Hawk what do you want?" "I heard you came out here but not why." "How about we go for a walk I know the perfect place." I nodded then jumped down and followed him.

I walked with him and there was a grassy area. We sat down and I leaned on him like I would my brother. "So do you want to tell me what's wrong?" "If I have to. I have to leave in about a week. I don't know how long I will have to stay there. I mean I just found out who the hell I was for goddess's sake. I have to go there to help with my powers. Also, to finish my studies as a dragon princess." "I see. Where are you leaving too?" "I have to go to the dragon kingdom. Meet the royals and train under the witch and warlock there." "I see." "You sound weird is there something you aren't telling me?" "Uh did you always live here?" "No I lived with my mom and dad. When they died, I moved to the palace why?" "I thought so. Uh you might hate me for this and I won't blame you. There is a reason why you had to move here and not back home. I'm surprised they let me stay here. Ok here it goes. He took a couple of deep breaths. I am the dragon that attacked you in the woods when you were young. Please don't hate me." "What? Say that again." I said angrily. "I said I was the dragon that attacked you. Now that you know about dragons and the dragon princess I had to tell you." "Hmm. I see. Don't worry I don't hate you and I won't ever hurt you but right now. I can't talk to you. You can talk to me though I will listen." "I understand. I just hope you talk to me before you have to leave."

We just sat there in silence for hours until I decided I wanted to go back. Then he followed me home.

"Where Is my Auntie. I have something serious to talk to her about right now! Uncle and brother too!" "Yes, right away your highness." Said a butler. The Queen came running out and saw I was angry. "Uh into my office Zelda. Follow me."

I followed her to her office and got right down to it. I shouted. "WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU TELL ME HAWK WAS THE DRAGON THAT ATTACKED ME!" "Honey calm down. Take a deep breath." "No uncle I want to Know why now!" I was hyperventilating and couldn't stop. I was getting dizzy. I was coughing and fell to the ground. I couldn't control it I was so angry. "Why." Was the last thing I said before I passed out.

A few hours later I woke up and found myself in my room. I looked around and saw my brother only. I turned away from him too. I didn't want to see or talk to anyone right now. "Sis I'm sure you know when I was old enough, they told me. they told me not to tell you either. I'm sorry sis. I'm so sorry." "Do you know what happened to mom and dad too huh?" "DID they tell you too and not to tell me?" "No, I still don't know about them. That's the truth. Even if they did tell me to keep that away I will not. You have to right to know who killed mom and dad." "Hmph. Whatever. Go away I don't want to talk to anyone right now or see anyone." "Ok sis. Just know I'm here for you. So is auntie and uncle. Everyone is here for you too. What about Alana? You want to talk to her?" "No not even her. Please just leave me alone until tomorrow. At least." "Ok but you have to eat something ok?" I nodded "Ok then. I'll let everyone know. I love you sis." Then I felt him kiss my forehead. Then I heard him Leave. "No one is to come in here unless its to bring her food is that clear?" "Yes, your highness." "Good."

Then I did as I was told. No one came in and I ate. The rest of the day. I was happy he kept his promise.

The next day I was still in bed when my aunt came in. I had just woken up. "Auntie I don't feel so good. Cough, COUGH" "Oh dear. Can one of you get the doctor please." "Yes, your majesty right away." "Let's see do you feel hot?" "A little bit. My body feels weak." "Well, that's to be expected hyperventilating like that could make you sick." "I'm sorry once he told me I was just angry at him. But then I realized I wasn't mad at him I was mad at you guys but most importantly I was mad at myself too for not knowing. I mean come on I should have known. I looked into the eyes of the dragon back then and he still has those gorgeous blue eyes." "Woah calm down now Zelda. The doctor will be here soon. Oh, speak of the devil here he is." "Cough, COUGH" "That is a pretty big cough. He checked her mouth her temp hey eyes and muscles. "Well, it was because she was hyperventilating.; She should be fine in a few days she needs to rest. Someone should be with her at all times. Inside the room." "Yes, doctor thank you." I had a high fever and he gave me a shot that made me sleepy. Auntie was the one that stayed first.

I woke up feeling much better. "Hmm. Haa. I feel much better." I saw my brother sleeping with his head on my bed. His beautiful white hair spread out. I put my hand on his head and he woke up. "Sis your awake! How do you feel?" "Relax dear brother I am fine. Hey you know now that my hair is white no one can say how we are related anymore." I joked. "Yeah, I never thought of that. I'll miss your brown hair though." "Yeah, me too but it can't be helped. Anyway, I leave next week. I better start saying my goodbyes in the village and around the castle." Are you up for it, sis?" "Yeah, I'll be fine. Plus, I have my guards with me. You have crown prince duties, right?" "Yeah, I do. Boring as hell why can't someone else take the throne? It's too boring and so much responsibility for someone like me." "No to mention the most gorgeous looking." I joked. "Well, I am beautiful." He flipped his hair back as a joke for flirtation. "Ha-ha if you say so. Anyway, doesn't your hair get in the way? Have you thought of cutting it?" "Yeah, one of these days I might. I like my long hair but it can get hot at times even put up. Maybe when you see me again after you leave, I would have finally cut my beautiful hair. Don't worry I won't throw it away I have a use for it." "Ok weirdo I have to get up and dressed. Out, out." "Ok, OK calm down jeeze sis." "Love you brother." "Love you too sis." Then he left and I got my normal clothes ready.
