Siege at the Capital

Rielen took a breath as she once again filled the magic stone network with more mana.  She couldn't remember the last time that she had gotten proper rest.  If she didn't have the ability to use spiritual power to draw mana from the surrounding area she would have passed out many times over.

The success she felt at blocking powerful magical attack after powerful magical attack had finally subsided.  She felt an arm reach around her and a palm much bigger than hers touched the power stone next to hers.  She rested her tired body against Eon.  "You should save your strength for the battlefield."  She whispered.

Another mage fell to the ground a few meters from her location.  "You would turn out like them if I didn't at least expend a little mana."  Eon whispered back.  The room that housed the power array for the network was dreary.  For days they had been pouring their mana into the stones to keep the magical barrier from falling.
