Evangeline Evri Cora- Heavenly Virtue of Purity

Vlad narrowed his eyes and asked, "Do you think I would allow someone to just appear in my Royal Castle where my family lives?"

However, the advisors and the Royal Guards, who were hidden in various places in the Throne Room, did not answer. Normally, they would not have ignored the King, yet this time, they did not speak a single word or even make a sound. They understood the King's personality all too well.

It was a rhetorical question.

How could someone enter the Royal Castle with the King's overly protective nature of his family?

The castle was equipped with a multitude of Enchantments, Magic Circles, and Artifacts specialized in detection, prevention, and elimination.

There were also the mysterious Watchers who were always hidden in the shadows.

Then there was the King, one of the strongest Beings in the world guarding the castle.

So could someone still enter the Royal Castle with all those safety measures in place?

The answer the advisors and Royal Guards arrived at was a collective no.

Had it been any other time, the Royal Guards would not have acted hastily. However, because of the blood pressure emanating from the King, their decision-making ability was affected, causing them to act impulsively.

"Of course, you would not." The angelic female voice said from the blinding, golden light.

A few seconds after the voice spoke, the light faded and everyone saw the intruder.

A girl of about 14 or 15 years old with divine beauty floated a centimeter above the ground as if it would dirty her bare feet. Had it not been for the Ranks of everyone present in the Throne Room, they would have thought she was walking on the ground.

Behind her back were six pure red and white feathery wings.

Her long golden hair cascaded down to her thighs. The ends of her hair curled inwards, adding a touch of elegance to her appearance. Gentle green eyes adorned her face with porcelain white skin. She wore a pure white dress with golden accents and a red ribbon. Around her neck hung a pendant with a red jewel. Lastly, her legs were clad in thigh-high white stockings.

Instead of lust taking over the minds of the advisors and Royal Guards, they felt the girl was beyond cute. Had it not been for the formal setting, the reason for the audience, as well as the status and strength the girl held, they would have wanted nothing more than to pinch her round, chubby cheeks.

'So cute!'

'Is she really over a thousand years old!?'

'Even my grandchildren are older looking than her.'

The girl… no, the woman was 5 feet 2 inches tall.

However, they didn't let her young appearance deceive them. They knew she was a Being that was millennia old.

She was one of the current seven highest-order Angels in existence - a Seraphim who represented the Heavenly Virtue of Purity.

Evangeline Evri Cora.

"Humph!" Evangeline puffed out her cheeks in annoyance which she immediately regretted.

'So CUTE!'

'Why couldn't my children and grandkids be that adorable?'

'Life isn't fair!'

'I wonder if she likes strawberry-flavored lollipops? I still have a few that my grandson hasn't finished.'

The advisors and the hidden Royal Guards felt their hearts melting.

Once again they didn't feel any lust. Their emotion when observing the adorable Seraphim was akin to a grandfather looking at his newborn granddaughter - pure familial love.

However, Evangeline didn't like the gazes that were directed at her. Like a young noble miss, she placed both her hands on her hips, lifted her right foot, and stomped the ground while defiantly puffing her cheeks.

Her brows furrowed and her white cheeks gained a red hue, "Humph! I have come here for important matters." She said in her sing-song angelic voice, yet with a hint of killing intent which promised to be unleashed if she was treated like a child again.

The Royal Guards and advisors shivered in fright and quickly looked down as if the ground beneath their feet held untold mysteries of the universe. They didn't want to die. Seraphims though were Pure Beings, but that did not mean they had never killed nor would kill.

She was someone who had slain millions if not more Beings. She was far from Pure like what her appearance and mannerisms tended to make others believe.

After the Throne Room fell silent, Evangeline nodded, pleased by the 'true' silence.

Angels were Pure Beings, especially a Seraphim like herself. Angels possessed an inherent ability akin to a sixth sense that allowed them to feel if someone was evil or good.

Upon her birth, as a Seraphim she was blessed with the Authority - Heavenly Virtue of Purity. The Authority granted her a Unique Ability - Psychic Morality Insight. Without so much as a glance, she could easily discern someone's true personality, hear their thoughts, and even read their memories. If she didn't know how to turn her Unique Ability off, she would have been driven crazy a millennium ago. The power to discern a person's true intentions, hear their thoughts, and see their memories were not as enviable as others would think. Knowing whether someone was evil, good, or a mix of both only caused her to have barely any friends. After all, who wanted to have evil friends? Especially if you knew from the beginning they were evil. Being able to hear others' thoughts and see the despicable acts they had done in their lives made her further understand the cruelty hidden in people's hearts. They wore a mask of righteousness on the outside, but inside they harbored ill intentions.

Her Ability was a double-edged sword that she valued highly, yet despised immensely.

Since she was born, her Ability helped her countless times in surviving against people who harbored ill intentions towards her. However, it also kept her from forming true friends. The friends she had now could barely be even called friends; they were more like acquaintances.

"Well then, now that the noise has ceased-" Vlad paused, momentarily shifting his gaze to each advisor and thirty-seven hidden Royals Guards causing them to shiver in fear before speaking, "Shall we get this farce over with?"

"I'm a busy man." The thought of his soon-to-be-born grandson caused his overwhelming pressure to vanish and his face to break out into an affectionate smile. Three seconds later, his smile vanished and the blood pressure returned as if his smile and pressure never left.

His eyes narrowed at the Seraphim before shaking his head bitterly. When he thought of his soon-to-be-born grandson, he momentarily had forgotten to protect his Soul.

'To think I lowered my guard around the Heavenly Virtue of Purity… Haah.' He knew of the Unique Ability she possessed. Her predecessor was someone he knew quite well. She was someone who gave him quite a lot of trouble during his younger years.

The advisors and the Royal Guards were none the wiser about their King's change in mood or the pressure that he radiated had vanished before returning.

However, Evangeline had seen it, not because of her Rank, but because of her Unique Ability.

Despite the immense power of her Ability, there were still certain limitations. For her Ability to work on someone of King Vlad's Rank, unless he weakened himself allowing her to see his true personality and listen to his thoughts, her Ability would be useless.

Or a rare instance like what happened just now, allowed her to see his true personality and thoughts. Though he quickly protected his Soul, three seconds was more than enough time for her to delve into a few months of his memories.

The plot thickens. The characters develop. The world grows.
