Primordial Shadow: Dungeon of Eternal Darkness

"Amid darkness, there is only more darkness. Either you were born into the light or forced to suffer for all eternity." Delusions Of Grandeur

While Austin feared his life would come to an abrupt end, Elizabeth had already laid down on the bed. Despite not feeling pain in her nether regions, thanks to the four healing Spells cast on her, the tiredness that came after birthing Nyx took a heavy toll on her. Not even Spells could alleviate the fatigue she felt.

"Pumpkin, are you alright?" You shouldn't be walking around." Max asked worriedly while tucking Elizabeth in.

Smiling weakly, Elizabeth replied, "Father, I can manage. I'm not that helpless.."

"I know you're strong, but please, you should take it easy. Allow us to take care of little Nyx" Max insisted, his concern evident.

Elizabeth wanted to argue, yet she knew full well that her father would not listen to her plea.

Instead of continuing to needlessly argue, Elizabeth noticed her father-in-law had been silent ever since her shocking statement, causing her to be filled with worry. Unlike her father, her father-in-law had seen and experienced more.

"Father-in-law." She called out in a voice filled with concern.

Snapping out of his reverie, Vlad noticed the nervous pair of eyes from his daughter-in-law, realizing he needlessly worried her, he reassured her. "It's nothing, with our strengths being increased further thanks to little Nyx. We have nothing to worry about." Vlad said while staring at the crib where Nyx was in. A new Race being born was something that many would want to eliminate as soon as possible. No one wanted to deal with an extra unforeseen variable.

Each Progenitor had the potential to stand on top of the world of Arcadia.

In Arcadia, where strength determined who was right or wrong, a Progenitor being born would be seen as a hindrance by those who wish to rise.

Vlad subtly eyed Max and Hujarar, "For the time being we have nothing to worry about. We have more than enough strength to defend ourselves. Right now, you should get some much-needed rest. Giving birth to a Progenitor can be mentally and physically tiring." Vlad remarked. Because of his vast amount of knowledge, he knew giving birth to a Progenitor was not easy. The pain-filled screams they previously heard were a testament to the pain she had gone through during labor. "Not only that, you need time and rest to adjust to the rapid increase in Stats."

"Let's give Liz and Little Nyx much-needed rest," Vlad added with a smile.

Elizabeth smiled wryly but acquiesced with a nod. "Very well, thank you, father." She said and then watched her family leave the room.

Like a vigilant, over-protective mother, Elizabeth extended her Soul Sense enveloping the castle to ensure nothing could harm her baby. She then closed her eyes before succumbing to sleep.

Soon the room became silent except for the occasional snores and purrs.

*Zzzzzzzz*

*Purr… Purr…*

After hearing the steady breath of his mother and the adorable kitten who at some point fell asleep on his chest, Nyx opened his eyes.

'This sucks!' Nyx mused, he didn't like the feeling of helplessness that was now his reality. Being a cognizant baby with his past life memories still intact was hard. He could barely move his limbs around. His ability to articulate was gone.

*Yawn*

Nyx suddenly yawned while his eyes grew heavy.

'Tch… being a baby sucks!' He reiterated, closed his eyes, and before long, sleep overtook him.

—-------------------

"Nyx~."

"Nyx, wake up~."

Nyx's eyelids fluttered as the melodious female voice entered his eyes.

He didn't want to open his eyes but felt compelled to after hearing the familiar voice of Goddess Luna.

*Yawn*

After one final tired yawn, Nyx opened his eyes and was greeted by Luna's beautiful face.

Her beautiful, perfect face was a bit too close, mere inches away from his face.

*Badump*

His heart rapidly thumped in his chest.

'Why does she have to be so beautiful?' Nyx questioned. It was unfair for someone in the world… no, in the Universe to be so beautiful.

Luna smiled warmly, "Finally, you woke up. How was your nap?"

Nyx blinked.

'...My nap?" For a moment, Nyx was confused by what Luna meant before realizing that he had been sleeping and now he found himself waking up in Luna and Ulric's home.

"Did I die… again?" Nyx's rational thought was to believe he had died. He remembered that before he went to sleep, he learned his father was a Vampyric Dragon.

So the only plausible conclusion was that his blood had been sucked dry, causing his death, otherwise, how could he be back in this heavenly room?

Luna pouted and lightly pitched Nyx's cheek.

"Nyx it is wrong to accuse your family! You should be more trusting of them." She gently explained. "Though your father might be an idio… *cough*." Luna blushed and then corrected herself. "What I meant to say is, though your father might have his… quirks, he is a good person. You should trust him and your other new family members. Do not let your past life experiences dictate your new life."

Nyx fell silent as Luna's words repeated in his mind. He didn't question how she knew what he was thinking. He had first-hand experience with old man Ulric about Gods and other Beings possessing the Ability to read minds. Had Ulric been the person to read his mind, he would have been angry. However, since it was Luna who read his mind, he was not angry. The only emotion he felt was gratefulness for her advice. And it had nothing to do with her beautiful Divine appearance.

… Absolutely not.

Luna smiled while rolling her eyes.

"You little-" She began speaking but was interrupted by her father.

"Brat, stop having delusions of grandeur! My daughter is a married woman. A snot-nosed brat shouldn't think so highly."

*Crack Crack*

Like the shattering of a mirror, Nyx's heart shattered into pieces.

Just kidding, Nyx never had any delusions from the start.

Yes, Luna was beautiful… correction she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and probably would ever see in his life, but that did not mean he had romantic feelings for her.

He felt no lust toward her.

Therefore, he did not feel offended after Ulric's comment.

Is Nyx dead AGAIN!?
