Character Creation [Part 3]

When Austin had been briefed about why he was chosen to be the savior of a world, he learned that the old man could read minds. Like any other normal human being, he was furious and still was... who liked their privacy being spied on? The answer was no one. But what could he do? Nothing!

It was infuriating.

*Sigh*

He sighed with palpable exhaustion. He wanted to complete this form and be on his way.

He was convinced if he stayed any longer, he would be driven crazy.

Noticing the young man's exhaustion, Ulric reigned his teasing nature aside… for now.

*Cough*

Ulric coughed to clear his throat as well as to get the young man's attention. He then pointed to the screen and began explaining in a much more serious tone than ever before, much to Austin's surprise and delight.

"Young Austin, to answer your question from earlier, the hair color you choose will be natural. Therefore, you don't have to worry about being misunderstood as a third-rate gangster when you reincarnate." He explained and then fell silent. He didn't want to influence the young man's decision, it was his life and he should be allowed to choose the way he looked in his next life.

Austin felt like crying in happiness.

'Finally, he gave me an actual answer!'

After redirecting his gaze back to the computer, instead of scrolling down to view other options, he scrolled back up. He had decided on a hair color.

Ulric slightly smiled from behind the young man and patiently continued to guide him.

"Instead of scrolling, you can press control plus the f key, and then in the search bar that appears, type in the name of the hair color you desire."

Austin paused his finger, took a deep breath to calm his nerves, and then did as the old man said.

*Click Click*

After two clicks of the keyboard, Austin saw the search bar, a useful tool for those who were lazy.

'I can't believe I forgot something so simple.' He thought bitterly while typing in his choice.

*Click, click, and more clicks.*

"Silver!" Austin said as he typed into the search bar with visual excitement. And after seeing his choice was possible, his smile grew wider, without his earlier hesitation anywhere visible on his face, he clicked on the option and in a few swift motions, finalized his choice.

Ulric stroked his beard and asked after seeing the young man finalize his choice, "I am surprised you did not choose blue. How come you changed your mind?"

Without turning his head around, Austin answered enthusiastically "You already know my answer… but I will answer anyways, I've always wanted white hair… unfortunately, I don't want someone to mistake me for a decrepit old fart *Cough* …Silver hair is just as good."

Ulric's hand that was stroking his beard froze momentarily when he heard the words 'decrepit old fart'. However, instead of saying anything, he remained quiet and continued to watch.

Austin smiled, from the reflection off the computer, he perfectly saw the old man's reaction, and he would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it.

'Heh, that's what you get.'

After getting another one over the old man, Austin read the next Character Selection choice.

—-----------------

<Choose Eye Color>

- Brown

- Blue

- Hazel

- Red

- Green

- Black

- Violet

- White

…

…

…

"With my silver hair, blue and green eyes would go quite nicely. Hmmm… maybe blue and green heterochromia? No, the last thing I want is someone thinking I'm a weirdo…Piercing red eyes would be cool too."

The decision was easy and unlike the first time it took him over five minutes to make a choice, this time his decision was finalized in less than a minute.

Austin chose blue eyes. He wanted to appear gentle, handsome, and approachable, not cause others to run away from him in fear.

Silvery-white hair with blue eyes sounded quite appealing to him.

-----------------------------

<Choose Gender>

- Male

- Female

…

…

…

"Male" Austin didn't even need to think before choosing male as his choice. He still planned on reincarnating as the same gender. He liked being male and… he had some unfinished things he wanted to do.

"Virgin!" Ulric muttered under his breath, but purposely loud enough for the young man to hear.

Austin's face darkened.

"Tch, old man mind your own business. I am saving my virginity for my one true love!" He said with a convincing face.

Ulric dramatically sighed.

He placed his hand on the young man's shoulder and patted it a few times before advising, "Young Austin, lying to oneself is not good. You should be more open about your feelings."

Austin remained silent, convincing himself the reason for his silence was due to the limited amount of time he had in making his …character… and definitely not because of the words said by the old man.

...Definitely.

After nodding to himself, he began to read the next page of options… well he tried, but realized there was nothing to read… or more likely there was nothing that he could read...

On the screen of the computer was a multi-colored flashing spin wheel… Above the wheel, there were some letters that he could not read, possibly words that described the purpose of the wheel or maybe how to use it. Unfortunately, he could not read the language the words were written in

Austin pointed to the screen, hoping to get some understanding.

"What is this wheel? And what are those letters, hieroglyphics?'

Ulric flashed a smile, and after chuckling in excitement, he explained, "That is the Wheel of Fate, also known as the Wheel of Race. As for the reason why you can not read those letters, because the words are written in the language of the Gods."

"...' Austin was speechless by what he heard.

After a few seconds of silence, he finally muttered, "Wheel of Fate… Wheel of Race… why Fate… she's a bitch… why can't I choose myself?"

While muttering, he realized something he had overlooked due to his distaste for Fate.

Is that a reg flag?

Who knows?

... Not me.

*Cough*

Okay fine, I do know but you will have to continue to read to find out.
