The Remains of the Lost Squad

"[Mission in progress... Type: Investigation and Elimination Request: Eliminate all infected people in the building and gather all the information that caused this incident. [Reward: 10 points of general strength, 20,000 points of faith ...]"

Anton advanced among the corpses of the infected to avoid tripping and continued shooting at the others who kept coming out.

This mission was not a surprise at all; missions were random, and he assumed that the amount of reward was balanced with the difficulty of the mission.

Counting the bullets, Anton knew he was running out of ammunition, so he took advantage of not using the remaining shells and struck an infected's head forcefully with the butt of the shotgun.

Crack!

On the ground, Anton remorselessly stepped on the infected's head with force and lifted the shotgun again to shoot another enemy that was approaching rapidly.

Quickly afterward, he began to refill the shotgun's chamber while searching for targets.

It was then that he heard someone above his head.

Someone was there.

Earlier, when they had been eliminating the infected on this floor, noises were heard from above, so it was evident that there were enemies all around.

He had hoped there wouldn't be many infected, but no matter how many he killed, more kept appearing.

Immediately before going up to the upper floor, Anton reloaded the cartridges of his shotgun and entered the back room, where one of the policemen who had entered before was lying dead.

Just to the right, Anton saw a figure peering out. He didn't even need to aim before firing.

Bang!

The shotgun's shot pattern once again demonstrated its utility in eliminating infected.

He and his target were only ten meters apart, but only one shell was needed to create a large hole in the stomach of the figure that was preparing to attack.

Blood splattered the wall, and just as Anton was about to survey his surroundings, the infected on the floor opened its eyes.

But sensing that something dark was under his feet, Anton lowered his gaze and casually drew a pistol with his left hand, shooting the infected multiple times in the head.

As he looked at the destroyed body of the infected, which had been torn apart by the bullets that hit its chest, he felt slightly queasy.

The infected man Anton had just killed was definitely one of the policemen who had entered with the priest.

Only now could it be said that that squad had fallen, all because they didn't have the corresponding information.

If it weren't for the Vatican's intervention in trying to cover up this mistake, perhaps that man and the others would still be alive.

But before Anton could catch his breath, louder footsteps were heard above.

"Arghhhh!!!"

"Ahhhhhh!"

"We have been infected on the upper floor."

The sounds of gunfire a moment ago had brought unwanted attention from more infected. Therefore, if a demon controls those possessed people, that means they must search for their main target.

He quickly returned to the main team, covering the stairs.

"Throw nail grenades!"

Boom! Boom!

As the grenades exploded, Anton raised his shotgun and rushed into the dust curtain without any fear.

Although he could be ambushed by the enemy, there was no way those things could bite him due to the tactical gear he was wearing.

If he got cornered, there might be little he could do, but he wouldn't become infected. At least that's the idea for everyone in the squad.

Bang!

Anton shot an infected man in the head who was another policeman, but at that moment, one of the soldiers in front of him grinned horribly and detonated the grenades he had on his body.

"Everyone down!"

Boom!

The heat wave pushed Anton to the ground, making him roll several meters.

After a few seconds, he quickly raised his head to see the other infected person approaching.

"Fire!"

Anton could see a dozen infected people coming out like cattle.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The bullets from shotguns and assault rifles created a curtain of blood raining down on their bodies. Everyone was nervous, and right now all they wanted was for all the enemies in this building to be finished off.
