How do you identify a monster?

Jay was very excited to start his second mission in a foreign country, and his enthusiasm did not bother Anton, who was reviewing documents.

"How are you?" Anton answered Akira's call. She was at home, protected by at least a hundred highly skilled agents of the Light Association, as the value of her pregnancy would bring a second chance to the world.

It must be hard to be the mother of a ShadowBane and know that her child will be a star meant to brightly illuminate the future of humanity.

"I feel bored here, but I can't complain. How's the case going?" Akira's voice was calm, showing her tranquility.

Anton smiled and said, "Well, I'm starting with a target I believe I can eliminate. Monsters are easy to get rid of, but the problem is whether they'll keep falling into our world. That's the real issue."

"Don't you feel you need my help?"

"All the time. How have you been feeling?" Anton felt Akira's voice close to him, making him feel at home.

"You know I'm not weak. I can handle this and much more. My father and Mr. John have been taking care of me at home. Also, the lady who looked after you during your childhood is here, so don't worry."

Anton slightly closed his eyes, regretting not being able to be with Akira, but this was a price he had to pay. "I'll be back as soon as possible; this won't take long."

"I won't call you again; too much distraction isn't good for your mission."

"Hearing your voice doesn't harm me."

"You know what I mean."

Anton smiled and said, "Then don't call me anymore; just a few messages are more than enough."

"Take care of yourself. I know nothing will happen to you."

When the call ended, Anton looked at his scarred hands and wanted, by all means, to endure until the end. He needed to know to what extent he should pray and when he would truly know he had paid for his sins.

"We've arrived, Cardinal." Jay acted respectfully when he saw Anton being more serious, so he didn't make any jokes now.

"Is anyone else looking for her?" Anton didn't rush to the place where Suin, the girl seemingly involved in a parasite incident, worked.

"Right now, the drones have identified that girl along with Detective Kim. Should we do something about it?"

"We'll wait. I want a team to go through the back area and prepare to send a message to evacuate civilians from this zone." Anton knew his instincts were not wrong and that something was related to Suin.

What Anton didn't know was that at this moment, Suin, who had realized the presence of the parasite and self-proclaimed herself as Heidi, had revealed her existence a month later to her host, and in a way, she had accepted that fact.

When Anton saw Detective Kim, he said, "It seems she's still alive. Should I investigate myself to see if she is one of them?"

"You're the one from that day."

Anton nodded and asked, "Did you confirm your suspicions?"

"Is there a need to know?"

"No, I'll do it myself."

Detective Kim hurriedly said, "She is not one of them; please don't harm her."

The agents who were unloading the equipment looked at Detective Kim, and no one said a word. The Cardinal had the final say, and if he chose to exterminate everyone in the supermarket, they could do nothing but follow orders.
