Chapter 276: Everyone's Rock

Waylen's POV

I sat in the little room in my white hospital PJs and the gray sweater that was a tad bogus but very much appreciated because it gave me false security and the feeling of being hugged.

My attention was called to the window by the sound of thunder and I turned around just in time to see the bright blinding flash in the sky.

It was a heavy downpour and it wasn't letting up anytime soon.

My eyes wandered to the wall clock.

3:45 a.m

Barely enough time for the shrink Dr. Honey got on such a short notice to fix me before first light…. before I face my wife.

I looked around.

The room was sparsely decorated, the gray walls and the gray chair were hardly colors meant to stand out. There was a big cabinet by the wall and a little water dispenser by the corner.

The word that comes to mind when describing it was functional.

I took a deep breath.

I have had enough of the awkward silence to last me a lifetime.
