Tactical Battle

Although I don't want to brag, I am not one bit afraid of the move swagger. I want my opponents to use that move on my pokemon every time.

The main reason for that is simple, a psychic's pokemon can never get confused as the trainer can telepathically make his pokemon snap out of it.

[Krok, WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!!!! but act like you are confused.], I said loudly inside his brain.

Krok who was wobbling around like an idiot now suddenly snapped out for a split second because of a loud voice in his head. In just a second he turned back to how he was when confused... he was acting now.

Confused pokemon don't hear the outside sound, they do as they please like how Croagunk is started to spit venom everywhere. Krokorok started digging the ground like a maniac, he is acting so well that I am questioning myself if he snapped out?

Kaiser was just waiting there with a smile, there's not much we can do until the Pokemon snap out. We should be thankful that all battlefields have an invisible barrier around so that the attacks made by pokemon don't cross the battlefield and hurt someone.

Normally, it takes one to two minutes for the pokemon to snap out of confusion. I also can't use dig and stay underground for more than ten seconds, that's an official rule for all the battles. Otherwise, any pokemon that knows dig can just go underground and buff up.

[Krok, try to use hone claws as much as possible while hiding your claws when digging the surface.]

Swagger boosts his attack by two stages and if Krokorok manages to use hone claws at least once then this will be easy.

"Whoever snaps out first will win so get ready to lose, my Croagunk seems to be slowly getting out of his confused state," said Kaiser with clear happiness visible.

"We will see about that," I said not caring.

[Krokorok, act as if you snapped out of it the moment Croagunk attacks, dodge it and immediately use Crunch.]

Croagunk gradually regained his sanity and Kaiser immediately ordered,

"Croagunk, use consecutive poison jabs."

"Gunk Croagunk...", dark purple hands came jabbing at the now acting Krokorok.

Krokorok who put his acting skills to the peak dodged by a hair's breadth and used Crunch on Croagunk's throat going for a critical hit.

Croagunk immediately tried to back away but it was futile as large white jaw crunched his throat pinning him to the ground.

"Seems like my Krokorok is more cunning, I mean what do you expect from a dark typed desert pokemon," I said to which he laughed more maniacally.

"Yihahahaha, true... true. I am really glad I joined this trial against my father's wishes. Croagunk!!!!! is this what you mean by being strong???? Jab that Krokorok's jaw," shouted Kaiser to which the frog pokemon complied.

Croagunk who was wincing in pain just beside Krokorok suddenly unleashed a poison jab sending Krokorok two steps back at the same time poisoning him.

"Krokorok use dig, let's not drag this," I said wanting to get this over with.

"Sucker Punch him immediately" ordered Kaiser not letting me escape.

Croagunk hands shined in white as he disappeared from his spot, he immediately hit Krokorok on his belly. Although it was not that effective, Krokorok took some damage.

Krokorok bearing the pain used dig not giving them another opportunity. He has ten seconds to attack while underground so he has to plan it well.

[Don't think too much, use dig immediately.] I said telepathically. The longer you wait the longer you give time for Kaiser to do a counter-attack.

Krokorok who jumped underground just a second ago came out hitting Croagunk on his jaw canon bolting him backwards.

Croagunk who was on the ground slowly got up with his legs shivering. I am sure he is at his end, just a small push and he will be down.

"Croagunk, wait for him to get close and finish this with Revenge," said Kaiser in a calmer tone as if he planned everything from the start.

Unlucky for him my Krokorok has a long-ranged attack which would have been impossible if not for Electrike teaching him.

"Tskkk, you calculated everything well except ignoring a minor detail. Krokorok, finish this with Snarl and then summon Sandstorm."

"Krok Krok----o----Rokkkk", he said laughing out loud ignoring the poison effect that's damaging his health. He instantly used Snarl with the weirdest voice you will ever hear knocking out the poor Croagunk. After that Krokorok's whole body shined triggering Moxie, the aura around him got heavier similar to the day he evolved.

"Krokoooorokkkk", he gave out a loud battle cry and summoned a huge Sandstorm. At this point, I couldn't see what Krokorok was doing as the storm got denser.

"Participant Kaiser, please summon you next pokemon." said the referee.

"Tsk, alright you got me. Let's see if you can deal with this one," he said and released the most unexpected pokemon.

---------------

Pelipper(F)

Level: 32

Type: Water/Flying

Height: 4' 3"

Ability: Drizzle

Potential: Blue(Low Grade)

Moves: Tailwind, Water Pulse, Air Slash, Ice Beam, Wing Attack, Rain Dance, Soak, Protect.

---------------

The Sandstorm immediately stopped and small droplets started to fall which suddenly turned into a downpour.

"Use Water Pulse, don't give any time for that Ground-type," said Kaiser.

"Krokorok dodge it by using dig and then use Snarl."

"Don't worry, fly away from the range of the attack and keep using Water Pulse."

This turned into a stamina battle, Pelipper used Tailwind to up her speed while escaping Snarl. Krokorok took a water pulse head-on as he couldn't use dig faster.

I was waiting for one opportunity to use Rock Tomb, I just want Pelipper to fly a bit closer. Krokorok has high enough attack to take the Pelipper down with a single attack but if we miss then they will be warier of it.

Five minutes passed by, the rain started calming down and both pokemon were tired. My Krokorok was nearly at his end as he was poisoned, all that food he ate helped a bit to last this long.

"Pelipper get closer and use Air Slash, cut through his Snarl," said Kaiser seeing that his Pelipper was getting tired by the repeated use of TailWind and escaping.

'Perfect', I just need Krokorok to use Rock Tomb exactly at the time when Pelipper unleashes that Air Slash. Timing is the key here.

Pelipper slowly got down and slashed her wings like swords sending out crescent-shaped cuts.

"Krokoroak use Rock Tomb now, full power."

Kaiser immediately realising the mistake shouted,

"Use protect, don't let that attack get to you."

Two Air Slashes hit Krokorok on his gut knocking him back with huge force. Krokorok's timing was a bit off and could only summon a semi-RockTomb.

'What shit time to get a critical hit', I thought. Still, the rocks grazed both of Pelipper's wings even though she managed to use protect.

Rock Tomb did huge damage as Krokorok hit that with three times his attack power. I then gazed at the now struggling Krokorok, he was nearly at his end.

"Great Job, now use snarl to make it easy for your teammates," I said to which he complied.

"Pelipper, finish this with Water Pulse," said Kaiser. The water pulse hit Krokorok with huge impact knocking him out while Pelipper took a half-assed Snarl.

"Participant Raven, release you next pokemon," said the Referee seeing that my Krokorok collapsed.

I took back Krokorok and Summoned Electrike out. 'This is gonna be easy now', I thought. Krokorok did very well considering he nearly took on two pokemon with a type disadvantage.

Kaiser gazing at my next pokemon scratched his chin in contemplation and then said, "Pelipper, Tailwind."

"Electrike, finish this with a thunderbolt, full power," I said.

Pelipper who started using Tailwind was suddenly switched out and the thunderbolt hit the pokemon that was summoned out by Kaiser. I was startled by his move so I immediately used Appraisal.

---------------

Manectric(M)

Level: 30

Type: Electric

Height: 5' 3"

Ability: Lightning Rod.

Potential: Green(Peak Grade)

Moves: Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Shock wave, Rain Dance, FireFang, Headbutt, Swift, Protect.

----------------

'Fuck, what are the chances?' was the only thought that went through my mind. This guy was so decisive that he immediately got his Pelipper out just to get a boost from the thunderbolt.

His team lineup is on point, his whole team benefits from the rain. Croagunk's ability lets him gain health and Manectric electric attacks might get boosted in the rain if he learns Thunder. There is only one way to win this, I put my thoughts out to electrike.

[Electrike, I will tell you the harsh truth now. I want to play this safe and make sure we win this. There is 70-30 chance favouring Manectric here, physically we can't keep up and none of your electric attacks does damage. The only thing we can do is to play safe by spamming Snarl and helping Fletchinder who comes next.], I said revealing my intentions.

[I have no issues, Sir. At the end of the day, who's team wins matters than an individual win.], said Electrike with a maturity that made me proud.

"Alright, Agility to boost your speed and also remove the lagging tail," I said making Electrike pushing back the lagging tail towards me.

"Manectric, spam Swift attack and use headbutt if Electrike uses physical attacks," said Kaiser as if he sure of his victory. I won't deny it as I would also be as confident as him.

Executives POV:

"How do I put this? This match is the most interesting one among all the battles we have seen today," said Archer glancing towards the other executives.

"I agree with you on that. Type advantages, Movesets, Decisiveness, Stamina and above all, trainer's intellect, all are coming into play. In my opinion, Kaiser has the advantage as Raven's next is a flying type," said Ariana making Archer and Proton nod while Petrel disagreed.

"What???? you think my guy loses?" asked Proton in an impatient tone.

"No, I think both have equal chances. Raven's Electrike has the move Snarl and Don't forget Raven's tactic against Venonat, if he plays safe here then he might cut off the type advantage when his next pokemon comes," said Petrel summing up Jay's plan in an instant.

"Hmm, you are right. Raven just needs to stay calm and both of them will have an equal chance. Never thought a move like Snarl would be this useful. When you cross the Elite level, you start looking down on those less powerful moves forgetting their tactical advantage," said Ariana contemplating on low powered attacks.

Everyone else simply nodded and started concentrating on the game. Petrel and Archer knew deep inside that, what Ariana said only applied to her and Proton as they never looked down on any moves.

---------------------------

Jay POV:

It has been five minutes since Electrike started to use hit and run tactics. It was good that Manectric did not have any speed boosting moves while Electrike used agility to outrun. Removing the Lagging tail helped a lot as Electrike was 1.5 times faster than normal.

Electrike did not go Unscathed, she received a high impact Headbutt and a Fire Fang. Manectric on the other hand was hit by Snarl for thrice now. Electrike was getting dead tired due to agility usage and all the running around while taking damage.

"Electrike, just make sure that you hit one Snarl and we will be at an advantage," I said to which Electrike gave a weak nod. She would pass out if Manectric hits her once with a headbutt. Manectric still has nearly 65% of her hp and I think Fletchinder can manage it. The main advantage is that Manectric has no physical electric moves while the power of his Special moves is decreased by Snarl.

"Manectric, finish this with a Headbutt," said Kaiser in bitterness. He never expected that a move like Snarl can be used like this by an electric pokemon.

"You too, use Snarl and make sure it hits," I said to Electrike.

Both unleashed their attacks at the same time and Electrike was sent out of the Arena with a heavy impact, she fainted immediately but made sure to hit one last time.

I returned her and Immediately summoned Fletchinder. She soared to the sky the moment she appeared, Kaiser on the opposite side nodded in understanding gazing at my last pokemon.

"No wonder you were playing a pussy game with Snarl, let's see if it helped you," he said while expecting a response only to be ignored by me.

"Has anyone ever said to you that you are annoyingly quite?" he said to me in irritation.

"Has anyone told you that you are annoyingly chatty?" I responded rhetorically.

"Nope and anyone who said that never lived the second day," he said showing his white teeth with pride visible in that chilly tone.

I ignored his psychotic behaviour and turned towards Fletchinder,

"Fletchinder CODE-1, Electrike has got you enough advantages and our play style for this match will be Reckless. Use Flame charge and hit him head-on, don't plan or wait just go with it." I said.

"Oh!!!! Nice, Manectric, you too use Headbutt with full power," said Kaiser in happiness.

[Use Will-O-Wisp instead, flame charge will be the bait to make Manectric get close to you.], I said sneakily. Telepathy is such a blessing to have while battling. Code-1 means nothing, it's just a cover for me to explain the use of will-o-wisp instead of Flame Charge.

Manectric expecting a head-on collision came with full force only to be dodged by Fletchinder acrobatically while receiving a Will-O-Wisp on his back.

"You Fucker, one of these days I am gonna kill you," said Kaiser in extreme anger. He got played and he knows it, with a half effective special attack and drastically decreased physical attack, he can't win this.

Now, over top of all this Manectric gets burn damage while Fletchinder happily hovering in the sky.

"Fletchinder, all you need to do is use protect when he uses electric moves. If you get tired or hit, use Roost and Protect combo. Happily waiting for the burn effect to sink in, we will finish this with a flame charge," I said with an extreme composure not caring one bit for Kaiser's threatening.

The game got dragged on for five minutes and Fletchinder was playing with Manectric by using protect and acrobatics to escape. She got hit by thunderbolt twice but managed to use Roost and Protect combo to get back with ease. Manectric was at his wit's end, he was almost down as the burn effect was too good. I could see the charred skin all over as he winced in pain.

"Fletchinder, finish this with Flame Charge," I said not planning to drag this any longer.

"Manectric, try to dodge and hit her with a thunderbolt," said Kaiser in desperation. He was very mad right now as he hates this kind of tactical matches. He is clearly a kind of guy who likes to dominate with power, I suppose Duke was already a handful for him last round and now I took it to another level.

Fletchinder scooped down with intense flame covering his body. Manectric who was dead tired couldn't dodge it and was dragged back by the impact. His feet collapsed and got knocked out with foam visible on his mouth.

The whole arena was flabbergasted by the outcome as most of them imagined it to be a close match. No one can blame them as the last two matches between us were on an equal level.

"Kaiser lost all his pokemon and Raven from Viridian Orphanage wins the trial. Participants, please wait for fifteen minutes while we announce the rewards." said the Referee.
