133 Chapter 133

Between Aerodactyl and Dragonite, I've got a good feel for Lance's Dragonite's ability now. While they weren't really taking us seriously at all, their efforts allowed me to gauge the general range of Lance's Dragonite's ability.

It was a monster, a stupidly overpowered monster. Not even Pidgeot has a chance against it one on one. My only chance to bring it down, is to wittle it down with every pokemon I have leading up to Pidgeot.

A Milotic on land against a Dragonite? Especially one much stronger than the Milotic, on paper is a horrible match up.

And even right now in just taking everything into account my gorgeous girl is capable of physically and energy wise, there's very little that she can accomplish.

But, that is not taking into account the mental factor of things. Milotic might be a majestic beauty of a pokemon, and female. But she's no little damsel.

She's the boss bitch.

"Aqua Ring!" I ordered her as soon as I finished replying to Lance.

"Miloo!" Milotic thrust her head up and trilled immediately, not a moments hesitation upon hearing my voice. Moisture exploded into existence, forming multiple glowing rings of energy filled water around her body from just below her head, straight to her tail.

"Thunder." Lance replied simply and casually, not raising his voice at all. Yet, it was deep and booming regardless, his voice carried an authority without him even having to put any effort into it.

I wanted to learn how to do that.

His Dragonite, hundreds of feet in the air above, heard him without issue and raised one of its arms. Ozone assaulted my nostrils as a burning, crackling aura of deep orange electricity burst into existence around its form and then it thrust its arm down at Milotic and unleashed a gargantuan wave of pure burning lightning down towards her."Dodge!" I hurriedly countered, and she moved.

I saw Lance's eyes widen briefly as Milotic's massive serpentine body rapidly and gracefully slithered across the ground, avoiding the massive force of lightning that tore the battlefield asunder with a thunderous roar, sending massive chunks of debris flying high into the air.

Milotic didn't need my command next, as soon as she dodged she angled her head up and fired off a trio of jagged icy blue beams from directly below Dragonite.

The beams reached it within a few blinks of the eye, but it didn't stop Dragonite from casually twirling around lightly and easily dodging the Ice Beam attack.

'That's fine though.' I thought as Dragonite's gaze locked on Milotic and its wings began to beat, "Get moving, circle the battlefield make and keep firing Ice Beam."

True to my orders, Milotic did just that slithering rapidly around the battlefield, a blur of speed.

"Incredible speed for a Milotic, especially on land," Lance praised as she fired off one Ice Beam after another in a rapid barrage, each one casually dodged by Dragonite, "But I'm afraid she's just too slow for my Dragonite. Thunder Punch."

On that I agree.

But he fell for the bait once more.

Dragonite flipped over an Ice Beam and angled itself facing downwards, before kicking off the air itself with its powerful legs, creating a shockwave of pure force from the motion and rapidly beat its wings.

The sky itself rumbled from the speed it went and lightning sparked into existence around its fists.

It was upon Milotic in a single breath delivering a massive thunder punch straight to her face and smashing her into the ground with all the force of a missile.

There was still so much I needed to teach Milotic. Attract, Confuse Ray, Toxic, Mirror Coat, Protect and more.

But, just because she was lacking in some areas, didn't mean she lacking in every single one. In fact, for most, she was well above board.

Especially in grit.

And her Marvel Scale ability helped for sure. Like quite a few abilities, it was different in this world. Not massively different, but still different. Marvel Scale as an ability here didn't need a status effect to work, and simply made her scales much more resistant to physical blows.

Between her grit, her ability and the Aqua Ring, it was enough for her to hang on and not get immediately destroyed by the Thunder Punch attack delivered by Lance's Dragonite.

As Milotic's head was buried in the ground, her serpentine tail lashed out and wrapped around Dragonite's body and pulled with all her might.

Dragonite barely budged at all.

But that was fine.

Because it hoisted her own massive body up with she wrapped around Dragonite's body in the blink of an eye.

Her face was bloody and bruised, but the nasty defiant glare she gave Dragonite was a thing of beauty.

"Hypnosis!" I practically roared.

Her eyes lit up with an ominous crimson glow at the same time Dragonite opened its mouth and unleashed a massive beam of multi-coloured light that blotted Milotic's head from view.

But I just managed to catch a glimpse of rings of red power sweeping across Dragonite's head, before its eyes slipped shut and it fell backwards landing on its back and snoring away.

While Milotic collapsed right next to it as the Dragon Pulse attack by my reckoning was cut off.

Fuck.

I lifted her pokeball to return her. I wasn't expecting Dragonite to immediately set off such a massive attack in reply, and it cut my plan short bu-

The upper half of Milotic's body rose up to my surprise, beaten, bloody and scorched but still conscious and she gave a beautiful trill, her body lighting up with energy and the wounds upon her scales began to recede.

Recover!

"That'a girl!" I whooped and praised her, clapping my hands together and punching my fist into the air, "Now Dragon Breath, hit it with everything you have and don't let up!"

"Awaken Dragonite, listen to my voice!" Lance shouted at the same time in counter and I saw Dragonite jerk a little, a snore turning into a snort.

Fucking hell!

But Milotic wasted no time either and opened her mouth wide, unleashing a torrent of green and yellow flames that swept over Dragonite's body and didn't let up for even a microsecond.

Some might call me stupid. They'd probably whine about Ice Beam being four times effective against a Dragonite and a stronger attack in general than Dragon Breath.

But I know all that.

I'm aiming to weaken Dragonite's physical abilities though, not just its health. And I didn't have much time. And freezing it was just a matter of it having enough strength to break free if it could resist the cold temperatures.

I don't doubt it can so paralysis is my best bet.

"DRAGONITE!" Lance raised his voice for perhaps the first time, and a moment later, a massive orange body rose up between the draconic flames of green and yellow.

Milotic only had all of five seconds to attack in the entire time it was asleep.

Dragonite's massive fist lashed out and grabbed Milotic above the end with bone crunching force. I saw her wince, but she didn't stop attacking.

In fact, she opened her mouth even wider with a snarl and the gout of green and yellow flames increased in size, washing over Dragonite's face and blotting its upper torso from view.

A sparking fist shot out from the flames and delivered a brutal lightning clad punch straight to Milotic's face.

Yet she did not stop.

Another struck her.

Then another.

And another.

It was only thanks to Aqua Ring constantly healing her, that Milotic was able to keep it up.

A battle of willpower erupted with Dragonite brutally hammering Milotic's face in with a barrage of Thunder Punch attacks and Milotic refusing to falter and roaring forth a wave of draconic flames and refused to let them sputter out.

Dragonite wound up for another punch, and my eyes widened as it froze in spot unable to move.

Yes!

Its grip went limp and Milotic jerked her head free-

"Ice Beam!" I shouted.

The flames cut off and were immediately replaced by a trio of jagged icy lances that slammed into Dragonite's face and tore it off its feet.

It was immobile for all of one second, but it was enough to deal some damage. Even if I knew that its Multi-Scale ability would provide it way for resistance than a normal flying and dragon type would have to it.

Just like my own.

It was up within moments a howl tearing from its throat as it ascended high into the air and escaped the Ice Beam attack.

But I noticed something. It was slower than it was before.

"Good job, now Dragon Rush my fr-" Lance began saying, a wide grin upon his face.

But before he could finish, I cut him off.

"I'm forfeiting Milotic." I said loudly.

Dozens of heads snapped to me at the declaration. The crowd watching us, the Dragonite above, Lance and even Milotic herself.

"Miloo!" she shook her head at me, giving me a pleading look.

"Now now girl," I pointed at her, "You've done more than enough, way beyond my expectations even. It's time to take a rest."

She pouted at me.

"You're beaten up enough, come here." I ordered her.

And as always, she was dutiful to my orders and made her way over to me. She hung her head down to look at me when she reached me, and I reached up to wipe off the blood staining her face, "It's all good love, you did everything I needed you to and more, and you can take a rest now," I said, stroking her cheek gently, "Leave the rest up to the others."

Milotic pouted a bit more, but nodded nonetheless.

"Good girl, thanks for your hard work you did amazing." I praised her as I returned her to her pokeball.

"You know, I'm not sure how to feel about that," Lance scratched the back of his head, "On one hand, I'm impressed at you forfeiting for her before she got hurt anymore, on the other, that was a great battle, that Milotic of yours sure surprised me with her durability and tenacity."

"She couldn't keep it up much longer, and we caught you by surprise again, there was no way she was managing to get any more hits in now you've seen our trick, she's not ready yet," I shrugged, "I didn't see any point in keeping her in just to get hurt more."

"Smart, but some might say you simply don't believe in her enough." Lance pointed out and countered me, "Though I'm honestly impressed, I wasn't expecting you to employ the very same method with Milotic as you did your Dragonite, it's simply not something you'd expect from one."

"Like I said, she works very hard," I snorted, "People can say whatever the hell they want, but do I believe in her, one day she'll be well capable of taking any of your pokemon on one on one without any gimmicks and winning handily, right now though, we're still newbs."

This battle more than anything else, has pointed that out. A Dragon Rush to the face, a barrage of thunder punches, put to sleep and bathed in a constant stream of super effective draconic flames and even hit with a full powered Ice Beam.

And Lance's Dragonite is still raring to go.

We've still got a ways to go.

"It really does speak well of you that you know your limits, yet at the same time hold such a confidence in your path," Lance mused aloud, "I think I really do like you kid."

I blinked.

"I'm not into dudes." I replied on reflex.

"I'm well aware, it was only a few minutes ago you were telling me of your lover after all," Lance just laughed it off, "Still, Aerodactyl, Dragonite and Milotic huh? You've done incredible so far and gotten me truly excited for a battle in the first time for a while now, I'm eager to see who you bring out next."

Fun fact about this world. Unlike the games, a pokemon could be hit with multiple status conditions at once.

"Well, I won't keep you waiting then," I snorted and put Milotic's pokeball back on my belt before grabbing another, "Come on out, Fearow!"

In a burst of light, the second of my two super try hard birds appeared, spreading his huge wings out proudly and unleashing a challenging bark at the Dragonite high in the air, "Feaaaarow!"
