Episode 49: Spitfire & Fire Horse

The call Mr. Fuji to tell him they found the research.

Mr. Fuji: Perfect, thank you so much. To repay you, I'll help you with Blaine's gym. He's the quiz master so his gym challenge is answer his questions.

Mr. Fuji tells the group the answers to all the questions and they proceed to Blaine's gym.

Blaine: Welcome to Cinnabar gym! My name is Blaine and-

Wart: Magmar!

Ivy: Eight!

Una: No effect!

Rai: Tombstoner isn't a real move!

Blaine: W-well it seems like you already know your stuff... How about 1 more question. What Pokémon is known as the genetic Pokémon?

Leon: Mewtwo.

Blaine: I knew it! Mr. Fuji sent you didn't he?

Leon: Yeah, he wanted us to give you this.

Leon hands Blaine the book and Blaine quickly flips through the pages.

Blaine: Wow, he actually did it. He created Mewtwo. Though he did ruin my quiz, I thank him for sending you all. I owe you all a gym battle now so get ready to face the Hotheaded Quiz Master! Magmar, go!

Magmar against Rai. Magmar uses Flamethrower but Rai dives into the ground using Dig. He pops out to attack and Magmar attempts to use Low Kick to hit him but Rai dives back into the ground. The fight turns into a game of Whac-A-Rai as he keeps diving in and out of the ground, tiring out the Magmar. Eventually Rai does pop out the ground and Magmar goes for another Flamethrower but is struck down by Rai's Thunder.

Rai: I wasn't just running away, I was trying to distract you while my thunder cloud charged up.

Blaine: Well done. Seeing as you made it this far, it's understandable you'd have such strategies. Rapidash, go!

Rai stays in but due to his fatigue from fighting Blaine's Magmar he's slowing than the Rapidash. He's hit with a Flame Charge before being knocked out by a Take Down.

Ivy: Let me go next.

Ivy steps up and hits Rapidash with Leech Seed covered in Poison Powder. Ivy is hit by multiple Flame Charges and Take Down, only holding on due to the Leech Seed before they both succumb to their injuries.

Blaine: Hmm, a simple yet effective strategy. Well done young lady, you manage to overcome your fire type weakness with status moves. Who's next?

Leon: Me. Fire type versus fire type.

Blaine: Alright, Ninetales, go!
