230 CH99 (229), Using Pressure To Train (5)

We kept up our training trips to Mt.Moon for the next two weeks, and a day before the promised meeting with Weiss and Ace, Hashirama/Ivysaur's Vitality rose to SSS as well.

One of the noteworthy things that happened was that the mastery of some of their moves improved due to them using them so much during high-intensity battles. Another one was when we came across a small sleuth of Spinda, or rather they came across us while we were having our lunch break

The little buggers got attracted by the smell caused by my great cooking skills. They saw us, assessed the situation, and saw that we showed no aggression toward their arrival, so they acted quite friendly and even began to butter us up, acting all cute.

I had to laugh seeing their performance and made some extra food for them. After we were done eating, I began to put everything away and I saw the 4 Spinda look at each other and discuss something among themselves. I saw the three females push the male towards me.

It turned out that they wanted to join me, and correctly assuming that they wanted to do that because of the food I straight up told them that I was not going to cook for them every day. He returned that they would happy as long as they had something to eat.

I honestly had no interest in the Spinda species since they had a low racial value and no known evolution. Yes, I know that that's racist, but it's the truth. Moreover, their potential was yellow, so not that good either.

As if he heard my thoughts Spinda hugged me and looked at me with puppy eyes while waving the other three over who joined him in puppy eyeing me. I looked to my Pokemon for some support but they just snickered at my predicament.

Their request made me remember something I kinda regret, which was rejecting that one poor Drowzee that asked to join me. If I could go back I would have agreed and just let him stay in Utopia since Pokemon genuinely asking to join someone was pretty rare.

Despite my unshakable will I decided to let them stay inside Utopia remembering the sad departure of Drowzee, their puppy eyes, and soft hugs had nothing to do with it. Still, I warned them that they would eat berries fruits, and Pokefood pellets most of the time.

I gave them some of the normal type Pokefood and they just said they were great. I just sighed and moved them inside Utopia, so I currently had 4 Spinda living inside Utopia. At least, the potential of all four made it to light green after the upgrade.

Another fortunate meeting was with a Golem. The fortunate part here was that it had no interest in us and thankfully chose to ignore us, cause it was at the dark gold stage. I knew that since it was not bothering concealing its aura.

I was also pretty sure that I saw a Skamory fly by, but it was gone before I could make sure. Anyway, we agreed yesterday that we would meet up at 1 p.m in front of the Citron City Gym, so I was going to check up on Eggy now instead of 12:30 p.m, or I would have to do so in between teleports. It was just 90-minutes earlier anyway.

Eggy's potential actually improved to Orange, which was a bit faster than I had hoped would happen. I was taking care of him for slightly less than 2 months, and since the Care Center told my parents that Eggy would hatch in 5 months, that meant he should still have 3 months before then.

However, since Utopia actually accelerated the hatching time of eggs due to its great environment, I was expecting him to hatch at least a month earlier. If Eggy had been inside Utopia since the beginning he might have already hatched.

Anyway, this meant there were still roughly two months until Eggy hatched, and while I did not believe that there was any chance to raise his potential to deep orange during this time, I could hopefully raise it enough for the optimization that would happen after his hatching to elevate his potential to light yellow.

Still, even that was unlikely in just two months, so the closer we got to that point the better it was. Nonetheless, since Eggy's potential had improved it was time to swap his paste for a more potent one once more.

I had actually made enough of that paste to last for a month since I had expected this to happen in a month, so I had some in storage and only needed to apply it. Unlike the previous paste, the new one was E-class, and E+ at that, which meant that it had a greater quality/effect among E-class items.

Honestly, it took me 6 tries to get a paste whose class E+, the 5 previous attempts ended up as plain E-class ones, so since I found out that there was a division within the class, I had to achieve a plus for all my products.

Well, I began cleaning up the surface of Eggy. After the old paste was completely removed, I began applying the new one. Sigh, now that I would have to reduce the check-up interval back to 4 hours for some time to make sure that the paste was not too potent before I could increase it back to 6 hours.

Regardless of the blow to my sleep schedule, I was happy about the development. Once I was done with applying the paste I said bye to Eggy and left Utopia.

Afterward, I made my way to Citron City per Horus-Express. It took less than 40 minutes to arrive in Citron City and another 10 to walk to the Gym. One just had to love teleportation comparing those numbers.

Anyway, there were 25 minutes until our meeting so I chose to watch UtopiaTV until it was time. Ace showed up 10 minutes early and Weiss showed up 5 minutes after him. After releasing her from my hug, I asked what we were going to do since she had told us to leave it to her during our call.

"Well, I thought we could visit the Citron Marine Exhibition Center. I heard they have pieces of Pokemon there that differ from the regular ones. I know that you like things like that and I thought Ace would find it interesting enough as well since he applied to a marine academy." She replied and I had to agree with her logic since it was true.

I had told them that I found type variants interesting and seeing the exhibits sounded interesting to me, so she had pegged my opinion right.

"Sure, sounds interesting," I said and we both turned to look at Ace for his answer.

"Yeah, sure. Let's do that," he said purely out of his own volition.

"So, do you know the way, or should we ask for directions?" I asked Weiss and she nodded.

"Yeah, I went by it a few times during some of my previous visits to Citron."

She took the lead and we conversed while we were walking. Weiss told us that her Vullaby broke through to the bronze stage. Her Buneary evolved into Lopunny after reaching the (high) bronze stage.

Ace not wanting to be excluded said that a (low) bronze-stage Buizel joined his team and that he caught a (mid) bronze-stage Golduck. I congratulated them both and shortly after we arrived at the Citron Marine Exhibition Center.

We paid the entrance fee and began walking around the exhibition. While there was a tour that would begin within 40 minutes, we decided to walk around by ourselves.

There were not only Pokemon-related exhibits but also other marine items like models of ships that have been used or are in use by the navy or famous individuals. Some treasures found on islands or the sea were displayed as well.

However, touching the objects was forbidden, which was superfluous in my opinion since they were behind glass cases anyway. Still, some warning signs mentioned that the cases were energy sensitive and touch-sensitive, so any energy touching the case would trigger an alarm. The same for any physical pressure above a certain intensity.

This meant that I would be unable to check out their status screen and that I would have to be satisfied with the text panels beside the case which explained the history behind the displayed objects.

We saw quite a few items before the first one that really interested me appeared. It was a case displaying 3 coral resembling branch look-alike and two pictures. One looked like the regular growth from a Corsola, while the other two resembled it, but looked different.

According to the sign, the light blue crystal-looking one came from a water/ice variant found roughly 200 years ago. The other one looked just like the regular one but was a light purple instead of pink. That one was found 80 years ago.

The first picture showed a galarian Corsola, so a ghost variant, while the other picture showed a Cursola. The sign mentioned that it was the only known evolution of any Corsola variant.

The next interesting showcase were two Clamperl shells. The one on the left had yellow stripes on its interstices found 20 years ago, while the one on the right was pure white found 6 years ago. The white one was apparently from a water and fairy variant, while the one with yellow stripes was from an electric variant.

Funnily enough, I could imagine a water/electric type Huntail and a water/fairy type Gorebyss quite easily. The question was if both evolutions of the respective Clamperl-variants would keep their typing upon evolution or not.

Then came a display showing a gray Shellder-shell from a steel variant found 850 years ago, along with two Cloyster-shells. A dark brown one that looked like it was carved from stone was obtained 1260 years ago, while the other one looked like a regular one, just with black spikes instead of the regular light purple. That one had been found 90 years ago.

The stone shell was predictably from a water/rock variant, while the one with black spikes was surprisingly from a water/poison variant. I was seeing quite a few variants, so I was pretty happy.

The last one we saw was a display showing the appendage of two Staryu variants. The one on the left was dark, apparently from a water/steel variant, and had been obtained 580 years ago. While the right one was pure white and from a water/fairy variant. It had been found 840 years ago.

Ace mentioned that he would be interested in having a water/fairy type Starmie, and we wished him luck in finding one. We spent close to two hours walking around the exhibition checking out all exhibits.

After leaving the exhibition center, we went to a local KFP branch for lunch, and afterward, we spent nearly three hours in a bowling center. I could have won if I used my psychic abilities, but for the sake of fairness, I didn't.

We played five rounds before we decided to stop. Ace and I won two times, so we ended up with a draw. Around 7 p.m we said our farewells and split up. The next three days went by without any hiccups, but on Arcday after the morning training session, I saw that Saphira/Swablu finally completed her limit breaking.

Just two days before the start of the new month her Strength reached SSS, which meant she could officially breakthrough into the bronze stage. I told her as much and gave her the go-ahead.

She directly broke through and I was the first to congratulate her. The others quickly followed suit, and while they did that I checked her new status.

Her potential had jumped straight to purple and was nearly halfway to deep purple. Other than that nothing had changed, but that was no surprise.

Since she broke through her part of the pressure training was done, which meant the next few weeks I would focus solely on Hashirama during our trips to Mt.Moon. At least now she could focus on learning Natural Gift.
