Pokemon Alternate Universe Adventures

A man from an Earth gets the choice to start over in any Universe and chooses an Alternate Pokemon Universe. Let us see if his journey to the top is succesful and the impact he will have on his new world. Pokemon is owned by Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures Inc. I just use their sandbox for the plot of my MC and my OCs. This will be a "slow" paced story, in fact it's "super slow paced", so please don't expect the MC to directly start his journey in 20 chapters or so, actually multiply that by like 15. A lot is going to happen before that happens. The first 10-20 chapters or so are information heavy, depending on what kind of reader you are. I try to keep my chapter length between 2000 and 3000 words per chapter. My release rate is 4 chapter/week for now. I have a patre*n for those that want to support me with access to some advance chapters as a thank you. patre*n.com/Azrail93 This is an alternate pokemon universe so there will be differences to the games, manga and anime. So if something in the story is different it is most likely on purpose. The original sources are seen as suggestions not laws. Differences can be: Type variants, evolution conditions, strength mechanics, world building and more. If I am at some point asking for reader input I will do so but otherwise I will ignore most suggestions. So please don't spam things like catch this pokemon or do that next. I have my plot planned and external input will be considered when asked for. If I see a suggestion that I believe fit my plot flow I will use it and will credit the commentor. Comments on spelling and grammar mistakes are welcome. I will try to correct said mistakes with time. Constructive criticism will be read and considered. Insult and hate comments will be ignored or deleted depending on severity. Readers naturally can comment their dislike but one worders will be ignored. If the reason for the dislike is explained I will read it. Like previously mentioned pure insults and hate comments will be ignored or deleted. The same is true for simple hate reviews or insulting ones. Reviews conplaining about something I warned about, such as the slow pace, will be deleted as well.

CH101 (331), Global Final Pokemon Battle

The Pokemon battle final was scheduled for 1:30 p.m, so there was more than an hour and a half until then. It was set like this to give the audience and the finalists time for a lunch break before the finals.

Our group went out for a proper lunch at one of the nearby restaurants as well, after they finished congratulating me. Predictably, my final battles were the main conversation topic during that time, and everyone was fervently discussing my two opponents.

The main consensus among them was that no one doubted that I would win the Pokemon battle since they refused to believe that someone else in my age group beside me could have two or more (high) gold-stage Pokemon.

On the other hand, the opinions were split as far as the outcome of the personal battle was concerned. Mom, Rose, Yu, and Jessica believed without a shred of doubt that I would win the fight.

Meanwhile, more than half of the others thought it would be a hard fight and that I could lose if I made too many mistakes. The rest, which was mostly made up of the parents, thought that I could afford no mistakes at all if I wanted to win. They were advising me to go all out right from the beginning and estimated my chances to be close to 50-50.

We made our way back to the arena and I split from the group 10 minutes before 1:30 p.m to make my way to the gate. There I began to think about the upcoming battle in peace while waiting for the signal to step onto the field.

Dio Grand was a ground-type specialist that was representing the eastern continent and Kalos. He had used a (high) silver-stage Krookodile, Mamoswine, and Nidoqueen during his semifinal battle against Brian, but the videos I looked up on him showed that he had a fourth Pokeball strapped to his waist, so he might have had a trump card that he was holding back until now.

That or it was simply a Pokemon that had yet to become strong enough to participate in the competition battles. However, my gut was telling me that it was his trump card and not a newbie.

Anyway, regardless of which Pokemon he used, I definitely had to use Jade/Gyarados and Mothra/Butterfree in this battle. Horus/Xatu got to fight in the semifinal, so I could leave him out this time, but those two ladies would definitely make an appearance.

Hmm, I might choose Gaia/Nidoqueen as my last Pokemon since Seb/Nidoking got to make an appearance, so it was only fair that she got a chance as well.

The staff member pulled me out of my musings and informed me that it was time to go out, so I made my way through the gate and stepped onto the field. The audience began to cheer at my arrival and I heard the host starting my introduction.

Before I arrived at my position, the audience began to cheer once more, and I saw that Dio had made his appearance as well. He gave the crowd a wave before confidently waking to his position. He gave me a nod once he made it there which I returned and we waited for the host to finish Dio's introduction.

While we were waiting, I spread an open telepathic channel that added the referee and Dio to its range. The two noticed my telepathy since I wanted them both to notice it. Dio looked intrigued by my act, while the referee gave me an inquisitive look.

'I did not want everyone else to hear this, but I wanted to tell Dio something, so I included you as well sir, to show that I was not doing anything shady,' I first shared why I did this telepathic thing, and I could feel him projecting something along the line of "get on with it".

'Dio, I just wanted to tell you that I am definitely going to use a gold stage Pokemon in our battle, so make sure to do your best as well. If your fourth Pokemon is a gold stage one as well, then make sure you use it during our battle,' I informed Dio, who simply gave me a smirk and a nod.

'That's all, sir,' I told the referee who gave me a subtle nod.

That coincided with the end of the introduction, so the referee's part followed, and only once that was done, was the signal to start the battle given. Dio and I released our Pokemon at that moment, and his Krookodile appeared on his side.

Meanwhile, Jade made her global debut on my side, and her appearance caused the audience to erupt in cheers as well as exclamations of wonder. I did not doubt that many were in shock at how and where I got so many Gyarados variants.

While Jade was currently the smallest Gyarados among the Slythering Six at 13 meters, she was still much larger than the average Gyarados. Moreover, Jade, along with Ryujin/Gyarados, was the most distinct looking of their little group.

The back part of her scales was emerald, while her belly and the row of spots on her back were turquoise. This color change was something the others had as well. Jade's barbels were slightly longer, but that was also nothing too different.

What separated her, and Ryujin as well, from the others, was that the crest on her head turned from a three-pointer to a two-pointed one. Furthermore, the crest was quite a bit longer than usual and resembled the antlers of a spring-form Swasbuck without the flowers.

Also, the fins on each side and the ones on her back as well as her tail were kinda wavy and were yellow instead of white. She looked impressive, so it was no surprise that her arrival had astounded everyone.

While the crowd was calming down, the two Pokemon on the field were finishing their opening moves. Jade used an overcharged Sunny Day to activate her Chlorophyll ability and to ensure that her opponent would have a hard time getting rid of the extra sunshine.

With this act of hers, her speed doubled and she surpassed the regular racial value of a pseudo-legendary. Well, her water moves suffered in return, but we were working on a combo move that combined Sunny Day and Rain Dance that I was calling Summer Rain.

Unfortunately, the project was still in the cradle, so she could not use it. On the other side, Krookodile started a Sandstorm, but as usual, the two weather moves did not conflict, so both succeeded in their endeavor.

'Cotton Spore', told her and Jade released a lot of Cotton Spores into the Sandstorm, reducing Krookodile's speed after he came into contact with a sufficient amount of the spores.

She also released a lot of Leech Seeds, which were thrown all over the field thanks to the Sandstorm, waiting for Krookodile to trigger them. Luckily, one or two landed directly on Krookodile who was rushing towards Jade, forcing it to stop to get rid of the grown Leech Seeds.

It burned them by literally putting its hands on fire using Fire Punch and grabbing them before ripping them off once they were scorched. Following that, Krookodile stomped on the ground and caused an Earthquake, but it failed to reach Jade who caused an Earthquake of her own to stop Krookodile's Earthquake from hurting her.

However, while the tremors might have failed to hurt Jade, they did trigger most of the Leech Seed around the battlefield prematurely, effectively neutralizing them for Krookodile. It resumed its rush after that, but Jade did not plan to simply wait for its arrival.

'Stop it with Magical Leaf', came from me and she began releasing one volley of Magical Leaf after the other. Krookodile blocked them with Dragon Pulse while destroying the ones that made it through with Dragon Claw.

Still, it forced Krookodile to slow down, and it only managed to use a Torment after the fourth round of Magical Leaf, but Jade simply began alternating between Swift and Magical Leaf. Krookodile released a howl of frustration when she did that.

Yet, it stubbornly kept destroying both the Swift and the Magical Leaf, while approaching Jade step by step. Once it was close enough it released Sand Tombs, trying to force Jade into a quicksand-like sand pit.

'Cover it with water', I asked of her, and Jade countered the pits by releasing a quick Surf, that briefly covered the pit in water. At that moment, I knew that she was planning to use Splash to hurl herself out of the area.

'Use a strong Splash and flood the field' I told her telepathically so that she could rise out of the Sandstorm.

Once she was in the air, tens of meters above the battlefield and the Sandstorm, she invested quite a bit of her energy into a Surf, in part to counter the effect of her Sunny Day, before she released an enormous wave of water downwards.

The wave swept away the Sandstorm, effectively settling and canceling it. Not only that, but the now Muddy Water also crashed into Krookodile, who tried to hide with Dig. Sadly for him, he got pushed out of his hole by the crash of the water with the ground and had to endure the move the hard way.

Meanwhile, Jade, who was following the wave down, thanks to good old gravity, used the absence of the Sandstorm and the boost from Sunny Day to fire a full-power Solar Beam at Krookodile. It tried to block the beam with a Protect, and succeed since the shield only broke after she stopped her Solar Beam.

However, at that point, she was already above him, and had a Solar Blade ready for the moment she crashed into Krookodile. Krookodile did its best to block the Solar Balde with Outrage, and it worked out, it blocked the Solar Blade.

'Wood Hammer and then Horn Leech' I ordered to tide over Outrage. Jade used Wood Hammer to block the second Outrage. She blocked the third one with Horn Leech, and thankfully Krookodile fell into confusion after that, since she lost that last exchange and got hurt while defending.

She quickly made use of the time she got thanks to Krookodile's confusion to use Synthesis, which thanks to Sunny Day, brought her back to near full health.

'Solar Beam', I said to take advantage of its confusion, and she swiftly fired a Solar Beam at Krookodile. Unfortunately, it got lucky and managed to block the Solar Beam with a Hyper Beam despite its confusion. Still, this led to it being immobilized for a short time

'Lullaby', Jade rushed at it at her Chlorophyll boosted top speed when I said that. Once she was close enough for the next step she stopped a fused Grass Whistle to lull Krookodile to sleep.

Its immobilized, as well as confused state, helped her with that, and Krookodile fell fully asleep within less than 20 seconds. Once it was fast asleep, she tagged it with a few Leech Seed before healing herself to full health with Giga Drain.

Only after that did she fire a final Solar Beam at the fidgeting Krookodile, knocking it out before it could wake up. The referee declared Krookodile unable to battle and Jade the winner.

Dio recalled his unconscious croc and put its Pokeball away, while I did the same with Jade after praising her. We then pulled out our next Pokemon and released them after the referee gave the signal once we confirmed that we were ready.

On my side, Gaia made her appearance in all her queenly glory, while on Dio's side a Swampert made its appearance. At that moment, all I was thinking while the crowd was cheering was shit, that's a pretty bad match-up, but it got much worse once it began its opening move.

My only thought at that point was f*ck since Swampert revealed that it was at the (low) gold stage, which turned Gaia's battle from really hard to hell mode. Still, neither Gaia nor I had any intention to give up.

I could feel that Gaia was fired up and ready to tackle the seemingly impossible odds. She released a roar of challenge and defiance which she tied nicely into her opening act.
