The Adventure begins 2

Early morning, in front of Professor Oak laboratory, "Here is the water stone and Pokeballs."

Oak pulled out a card, "If you are out of Pokeballs, you can use it to get from any Pokecenter. This is the most I can do in term of sponsorship"

Vidal stored everything inside his bag and asked, "The Staryu I got yesterday; was there some abnormality in its behavior?"

Professor Oak smiled, "You figured it out this fast. It appeared in the pond some month ago and started fighting with Pokémon randomly. Some wins and some losses, but never stopped fighting; I hope you can take good care of it."

Vidal was finally relieved, 'So it was just some luck.'

"You don't have to worry about it."

Vidal after farewell from Professor Oak hit the road at last.

Enjoying the view of scenery and variety of Pokémon, he became more and more impressed with the world.

On his way, Vidal caught different common type Pokémon for Professor Oak, which also provides opportunity to engage in real battles with wild Pokémon.

Vidal found that, Staryu can basically defeat the common Pokémon in one move. This shows he need to engage with other trainers to get more battle experience.

Because of wandering around in the way to catch Pokémon, Vidal had to camp in the forest for the time being.

"Staryu, from tomorrow the training will begin." Looking at the starry sky Vidal said before finally falling sleep.

"Before evolving you, the main priority will be to increase your speed as much as possible."

Staryu already have learned hydro pump, if it learned surf and psychic as well I will have no problem taking some gyms.

Vidal looked around and brought a stone about 2 kg and tied it to rope and attached the rope to be pulled by staryu, "We will do the traditional training to increase strength and speed."

Training with proper weights and equipment would have been more beneficial but carrying such equipment and weights all the time will create another hassle for him. So, for the time being stones are the most accessible material for him.

Staryu started to pull the stone, but because of soft soil it was difficult for Staryu to pull for more than twenty minutes.

Vidal also stopped running.

"Let's rest for a bit."

Vidal put out Pokémon food and some snacks for himself, "I will definitely learn to make some good food for Pokémon in the future."

After repeating the same method for some time, it was almost afternoon, "Let's move forward."

Vidal didn't want to stick in one place for too long, he wanted to at least progress some distance from next city.

[Route 1]

Vidal was looking at the wooden board stuck on the ground, "Finally, I can start catching some more Pokémon."

The training for Staryu continues and Vidal was also training by its side.

The weight for Staryu has increased to 8 kg and Vidal's stamina has also increased a bit.

The craze of Indio League is more than he had thought. During his few days of stay in Route 1, many new Pokémon trainer passed by him.

Many tried to challenge him, and obviously Vidal won without a sweat. Most of the time he didn't even had to use more than one move.

Vidal was planning to evolve Staryu before taking on the first gym on Viridian city, and getting some good battle experience was also part of plan.

Two days later.

"Just give your best shot."

A huge water vortex was formed in front of Staryu which was bigger than the size of Staryu and a blast of water hit the hill side.

Bang!

"Let me check it," the hole was big enough for Vidal to crawl inside easily and the length of hole was nearly three meters.

The branches and trees for water gun practice were already broken and the overall result of the training was more than the expectation.

The only let down was not being able to learn psychic moves, but the power of other moves made up for it.

"Let's get moving."

With the almost empty bag and Staryu on his shoulder, the journey continues.

On his way Vidal caught about five Pidgey for Professor Oak, he didn't want to go overboard but he still has some favor to ask from Oak, so he need to curry favor a little bit.

On the way to Viridian city, he encountered another trainer.

"The losing trainers have to leave some Pokémon food or berries behind," a female trainer in orange jacket and a black skirt was surrounded by some new trainer.

The trainer introduced herself as trainer Quinn.

Quinn was using Ivysaur, and turn by turn the trainers were defeated. Vidal was the last person watching from the side line.

"You are the last one," Quinn pointed at Vidal, "You know the rules right."

Vidal nodded and Staryu jumped down from his shoulder.

"Let's get this over with fast. Ivysaur use Vine whip."

Vidal stayed silent.

Slap! Slap!

Staryu dodged the Whips on by one with ease. If we have to look at type advantage Vidal was on negative side but…

"Let's see. Staryu try to get closer," this was the perfect time to check the level of Staryu.

"Not so easily, Ivysaur use Poison powder and immediately follow up with razor leaf."

"Staryu, use rapid spin, full power." The spin was enough to generate gust to fend off the poison powder.

"Finish with the Hydro pump."

But something unexpected happened.

The hydro pump slammed on the face of Ivysaur, sending it flying banging on the trees.

"Shit." The strength was higher than he had thought. He can see the power of Staryu wasn't at a level of normal Pokémon.

But this wasn't time to be happy, "Hurry up to the Poke center," Vidal cried to the stunned Quinn.

Quinn immediately carried Ivysaur and ran towards Viridian city poke center followed by Vidal.

"Looks like I need to be more careful in the future," Vidal was still in the lower region of Kanto where the level of Pokémon trainer is still very low.
