Chapter 98 - Indigo League; Paul vs Benjamin part 2

Paul took out his Pokedex and searched for information on Raichu. Benjamin who stood opposite to Paul also did the same.

Raichu is a rodent-like Pokémon, similar to its previous evolution forms. Unlike Pichu or Pikachu, which both have yellow fur, Raichu has orange fur with two strips of brown fur on its back. It has long ears and feet, but has little stubby arms with no noticeable fingers. Additionally, its electrical sacs are yellow, unlike its previous form's red coloring. It has a plump white belly, the tips of its arms and toes are brown. The soles of its feet are tan-colored and the paw pads on the undersides are yellowish orange. Raichu also have a long, thin, black tail that ends in a large lightning bolt shape.

Raichu can generate electricity through its cheeks and electrocute its opponents. The highest amount of electricity it can discharge to take down its foes are 100,000 volts. When or not in battle a Raichu can use its long tail to grab and restrain opponents or hold and carry things. Its tail can also serve as a ground to protect itself from high voltage power.

Electivire is a strong, yellow Electric-type that resembles a yeti or Sasquatch and has two long black tails with red tips that look like LED light bulbs. It hangs around power plants to feed and gain more power.

Electivire tend to be short-tempered, aggressive Pokémon. They also often act brashly without consequences; they are known to charge headfirst into the attacks of foes while attempting to land blows of their own. generally at the cost of compromising the power grids in the local areas. Conversely, a single Electivire can also produce enough electricity to power a city if harnessed properly. When excited, Electivire will pound their chests, letting loose showers of sparks and thundering roars. Their power correlates with their heart rate, spiking tremendously during battle.

Electivire's special ability Motor Drive renders the foe's Electric attacks useless and just powers up the speed of Electivire, making it a formidable foe.

Benjamin heard about the ability of Electivire. 'Raichu's electric moves won't work against Electivire I don't have any other strong Pokémon aside from Raichu. I will just have to trust Raichu and fight. Even though Raichu electric attacks won't work, Raichu still has the highest probability of defending Electivire among my other Pokémon.' Benjamin still sweated while looking at Electivire.

Itsuki and Serena were walking back to the stadium. The look on Itsuki's face changed when he saw Electivire in the screen which was placed outside the stadium.

"Itsuki should we go back?" Serena asked after seeing Itsuki looking at the screen.

"Na, it's alright. It's just that I didn't expect Electivire to be that strong. Let's go somewhere else." Itsuki took Serena's hand and lead her to another place.

While Itsuki and Serena walked and ate ice-cream, Itsuki didn't notice that a certain person was looking at him and taking pictures of him.

"Sir our squad members has managed to enter the stadium by disguising themselves as Nurse joy clan members. We are ready to proceed with the next phase of the mission."

[Good Job. For now don't do anything. Just be on standby mode and wait for the other squads to enter the stadium. Observe and collect information on the targets. But remember that you must finish the second part of the mission before the final day of the Indigo League.]

"Itsuki never told me anything about his parents. But I think Itsuki is from an average trainer family."

Seeing her father smiling at her, Luna felt her father knew something about Itsuki's parents." Dad, do you know anything?" She asked.

"Itsuki's family is anything but average." Luna misunderstood her father's words meaning and assumed that Itsuki belonged from a poor family.

'Maybe that's why he agreed to help me when I told him about giving 10 million P$.' But recalling the expensive hotel where Luna met Itsuki and what expensive clothes he was wearing, and the behavior of Itsuki, Luna felt she was assuming the wrong thing here.

"My silly daughter, Itsuki's father is a famous scientist while his mother used to be a Pokémon trainer and a adventurer. Both of them met while traveling and fall in love. What's more shocking is the fact that, Itsuki is the young scientist in the whole world. Itsuki has worked as assistant scientist under Professor Oak. Among the scientist community both Itsuki and his father is popular and known by everyone." Luna felt the world around her was shattering into millions of pieces. Who would have thought Itsuki would also be a scientist.

The shock Luna currently felt was too much for her. If she had heard these words from someone else then Luna never would have believed it.

'That handsome boy who looked so carefree and easily gets annoyed by my words is actually a scientist.' Luna somehow felt she knew nothing about Itsuki anymore.

Cooper gave his daughter few minutes to calm down while he watched the entrance of Benjamin.

After 2 minutes, Cooper dropped another bomb with his words.

"Itsuki is the owner of Azure Industry which is in Kalos region." Cooper didn't tell his daughter the reason why Itsuki's family moved away from Kanto. Cooper felt that Itsuki should tell this to Luna.

"What?" Luna grabbed her father's hand and asked. "Dad please tell me you're joking right?" Cooper being the richest man in Kanto always kept his ears open about international news.

About 15 days ago, Cooper heard the news of a new technology built by a former bankrupt company.

It was said that the new technology will change the world and make things easy and convenient for everyone. The new technology was said to be the start of an new era. Cooper like any businessman tried to invest in the company and buy some shares of the company but the company didn't sold any shares.

It was even rumored that the old owner of the company had approached the CEO of the company to buy some shares from it.

The whole Kalos region was excited by the new technology which will replace the old ones. But strangely no one has even seen what the new technology is capable of. It was said that the company will reveal the age changing technology to the world after the Indigo League.

Luna naturally knows all this because she has been also learning under her father to succeed him in the future.

"You know, even I had the same reaction when I learned about this." Cooper if possible wanted to buy some shares but Cooper wasn't greedy. He didn't want to bring business in family matters and get shares using the relationship between Luna and Itsuki.

Meanwhile.....

"Raichu start the battle with Quick attack." Benjamin decided to attack first. Paul folded his arms on his chest and looked at Raichu. Benjamin and everyone felt strange when Paul gave no order to Electivire.

[ Paul is not giving any order to his Pokemon. What could Paul be thinking? Or is he just too confident that his Electivire won't take damage from Raichu's attack.]

Everyone couldn't understand what Paul was thinking. But just when Raichu was few meters away from Electivire,.....

"Grab Raichu."

Raichu attack rushed at Electivire at full speed and tired to knock Electivire down with quick attack but when Raichu was about to hit Electivire chest, a strong pair of hands suddenly grabbed Raichu and prevented Raichu from moving.

Without giving Benjamin any chances, Pual ordered Electivire again.

"Use Cross Chop." Electivire arms glowed in white light as Electivire threw Raichu in the air. The next second, multiple chops continued to be used on Raichu. Electivire targeted the ribs, neck and chest area of Raichu.

Chop! Chop! Chop! Chop!

Electivire was moving so fast that no one knew how many times Electivire had had hit Raichu.

Raichu then fell on the ground, in front of Electivire.

"Raichu you okay?" Benjamin tone was full of worry.

[That must have definitely hurt. Michael if you look closely enough then you can actually see that Raichu jad broken some of his ribs.]

Paul didn't care about the reaction of the audience. "Electivire finish this with Hammer arm."
