Experiment

"There is only 1 way to find out. Let's test it on Light.", said Axel.

"Though I am confident about the heart gauge, it is still an unknown solution. I fear something might happen to Light.", remarked Mark.

"Mark, sometimes we need to run before we learn to walk. Let's test it.", said Axel and called out Alakazam.

ZOOM….

It directly teleported towards Axel. It was flying above him. Axel had told it to concentrate on 'Telekinesis' and over 40 days, it had improved a lot.

"Light, the solution is ready. Come over here and drink this.", said Axel holding a small bottle of the solution.

Alakazam used its 'Telekinesis' on the bottle and the bottle flew towards it, opened its cork, and then it started to drink the solution without any hesitation. Alakazam trusted Axel too much.

Axel sighed after watching this. It was supposed to be the most intellectual Pokemon on its rooster as it was Alakazam. Alakazam's brain could outperform a supercomputer and it could memorize anything. It also never forgets anything. But it had not asked any questions about the solution.

Axel was happy that it trusted him so much but it should also learn to have a questioning mind.

"Light, now sit and use 'Calm mind'. Try to meditate.", said Axel.

Alakazam seemed to be in a lot of pain. Its closed eyes were wavering, its shoulders were hunched and its mouth looked like it was gritting its teeth from the inside.

It took about half an hour when it started to relax and then Axel heard a notification from the system.

-----

[Ding!

Light has digested the solution. The Shadow element is adapting and becoming a part of Light.]

----

This was interesting. The shadow element was tied to a Pokemon's life force. So it could not be removed. The solution made Alakazam adapt more to the shadow element.

Axel sighed in relief because this meant that Alakazam was not in danger.

"How do you feel now?", asked Axel.

'The pain is less. I feel different, a little comfortable.', replied Alakazam.

Axel nodded his head and Mark started to measure Alakazam with the heart gauge.

"The heart gauge shows improvement in Light. I think that we finally made the solution. Congrats Axel."

"Congrats to you too Mark. So now only some research papers and we are ready to submit it to the league.", said Axel.

"It is not easy."

"What do you mean? Didn't we do the same thing before?"

"Yes, but this time the situation is a different cause of the heart gauge."

"Oh yes, you are right.", said Axel with a disappointed look. He needed the money now. He had used 2 billion Poke dollars on Never-melt-ice, 2 billion Poke dollars on Dratini, 1 billion Poke dollars on materials for the solution, and 1 billion Poke dollars on forest land.

That was a total of 6 billion Poke dollars. He had earned 5 billion Poke dollars from the Eeveelution and 2 billion Poke dollars from the battle with the Hoenn team. He only had 1 billion Poke dollars left.

1 billion Poke dollar may seem like a lot but looking at the rate of spending he would run out of it soon.

What Mark said about the heart scale was true. They gauged the status of Alakazam from the heart gauge and then made the solution. But the concentration of shadow element would be different with every Pokemon.

So, the concentration of the materials in the solution would be different for every Pokemon. This would take a lot of trial and error before they publish an actual paper to the league.

"Can't we just publish the first solution of Alakazam and then work out with the rest in the future?", asked Axel.

"That would be a foolish move, Axel. If the formula of the successful solution is published, other researchers would know about it. So, they could complete the work before us."

Mark was right about it. Axel didn't have time to waste another month on the solution so he made a deal with Mark which he happily accepted it.

"After we publish this, we should patent 'Heart gauge'. The money from the patent would be divided in half. I would give 50% of my share to the Venu family. In return, you would complete the solution and papers."

This was his deal.

They could also patent the solution but both of them thought otherwise. Unlike evolutions, they could patent the solution but doing so would give them 2 disadvantages.

There would be no reward from the league.

It would take a lot of time to earn the money as shadow Pokemon are very rare to find.

They wanted to patent the 'heart gauge' cause it would be readily bought by researchers for more research on the shadow Pokemon.

###

After 20 days,

Mark and Axel were ready to leave Hakone City. His mother was in tears seeing her son leaving her sight.

During those 10 days, Alakazam was already cured of his shadow status. It didn't feel any pain now.

"I feel so different. I feel like flying in the cloud." It had said. Axel noticed that Alakazam was now more active and more powerful. It was like a short dam full of energy had burst inside of its body.

Its stats and moves mastery started to increase rapidly which shocked him to the core. The increase was very high, to say the least, and it was not stopping. If Alakazam would continue to increase its stats and moves mastery at the current rate, it would reach pseudo-king rank in 2 weeks.

He then looked at Alakazam's stats:
