23 laps turned to 27 laps then 30 laps, 45 laps, and so on…. 

Axel's stats started to rise rapidly. Every day he was beating his previous self and going a little further. The family also bought some medical herbs to soak his whole body. This improved his recovery and he was able to achieve even more.

His Pokemon were not sitting idly. Seeing that their trainer was working so hard, they also gave their all. Specially Pidgeot. It was the weakest of all and it wanted to reach rare rank as fast as it could and finally after 12 days of continuous training.

It had powered up. 'Wing attack' and 'Aerial ace' had leveled up to 40 and Axel was not surprised by this. It trained on those attacks most of the time.

Wing attack : The wings are shaper and deadlier. It now looked like a miniature version of a sword blade.

Aerial ace : Its beak has been strengthened and the air pressure from the attack is more powerful than before.

The changes in 'Wing attack' was similar to Charizard's 'Wing attack'. It had become powerful and Axel was happy with it. Axel may not be able to use Pidgeot during the league battles as it was only a rare rank Pokemon now but he would use it in other regions and by that time, it would make a name for itself.

Axel came near it and patted its head saying that it had done a good job.

"Now, take rest for 2 days and get used to your new power. I will have to change your training plans now. You would also learn a new move. I have already made a plan for it."

Pidgeot was very happy that it had ranked up and hearing that it was going to learn a new move, it was ecstatic. It started to fly around Axel crying happily. 

Tauros and Absol were also going to evolve. Their rank-up condition was to learn a new move and they were trying to learn it. 

Axel could feel that Tauros was very near to learning its new move and Absol was also not far.

Days went on and after the end of the 20th day of training, Axel had finally completed 100 laps without fainting but now he had no energy to stand up.

"Congratulations! You have completed your first part of the training.", said Red clapping his hands.

His agility, and intellect were now nearing 200 and his strength had also improved a lot. The highest increase was his aura which was 210. It had finally crossed 200 mark. His health was on the now 980, just short of reaching 1000.

Some of his aura skills had also improved by a bit. He didn't know that was was even possible.

Even though his stats had increased by nearly 50%, he felt that he was twice as strong. 

"Take a rest for today and from tomorrow, you will first complete the 100 laps and then start your sword practice.", said Red.

"I have to do it tomorrow too? But I completed it today."

"Axel, I called that a warm-up for a reason. It is to make your body ready for training. So, you will complete the warm-up, rest for an hour, and start your sword practice.", said Red.

He didn't know how he was going to train after running 100 laps.

Next day,

Axel realized something very important. The training of swords was progressing at an astonishing rate. The moves and stances that he could not do before were easy for him.

He felt that he could swing the sword all day now. If he didn't have to do the warm-up, he could literally swing the sword all day.

'Is this the benefit of the warm-up exercise?', he thought.

"So, are you confident that you can master the manual in 10 days?", asked Red.

"Yes, I feel that I can grasp the manual more clearly now and can perform some steps that I could not before. I think I will be fine.", said Axel.

"That is why I told you to run so much. Running is one of the few exercises that trains your whole body and now your body is stronger and also in harmony. It would be easier for you to master this manual now. You have 10 days, don't slack off."

He thought that Tauros would be the first one to rank up but it seemed like Absol had a sort of enlightenment and it took over.

Ranking up from rare rank to Elemental rank was special for every Pokemon. It was like a dam that had just been broken. The process of ranking up took 6 minutes and it had finally ranked up.

It didn't act on the rush from its evolution. It took some time to close its eyes and concentrate but it was fine after that. After fighting with wild Pokemon, its mental stability had also improved.

Axel was surprised to see that 'The world of darkness' was a passive move. Axel had trained it hoping it would be a passive move but learning a passive move was very difficult.

Stage I: Any dark-type attacks used by Absol would have a 10% chance of causing blindness, shock, or confusion to the target.

A 10% chance was not a huge thing but it would develop with time. The dark type of Absol was different from the darkness of Shedinja. Absol's dark type dealt with causing multiple status moves to the target which would lower their battle powers.

Shedinja's darkness… even Axel didn't know much about it. He had talked to Shedinja and Gengar a few days before. Gengar said that it was training very well and it was a genius. Gengar refused to tell him what it was training on. It told Axel that it would be a big surprise. 

Charizard was also training very hard. Axel had told it to concentrate on 'Ancient power' however, it had still not leveled up to 40. 

Steelix was also in the same situation. It also had not been able to level up 'Ancient power' to 40. Mamoswine had also taken a long time to do it so Axel was not anxious.

Most of his Pokemons had mastered their abilities and some of them had even created their pre-domain. The fights with Red's Pokemon and their training tips had immensely helped his Pokemons.

Sparing with Red's Pokemons was a blessing to Axel's Pokemon. They would only gain from this fight and not lose anything.

A red and white light covered all of Tauros and it started to rank up. Axel was very expectant of Tauros as it was a powerful normal and fighting-type Pokemon. 

After 5 minutes, the glow vanished and…

Tauros roared in excitement. It started huff and puff and started to ram the trees near it, cleanly slicing it off. It went on a rampage until it was confused and then it sat to recover.

Grind: A very fast charge-type attack. It is almost impossible to miss when the user is fighting with a Pokemon of the same rank.

When Axel thought of a powerful fighting type powers, many names came to his mind. Goku from Dragon Ball Z, Might Guy and Rock Lee from Naruto, Saitama from Saitama, and many more. 

However, all of these names were from the fantasy world and they were very unreal to replicate. Might Guy and Rock Lee from Naruto could be replicated but Tauros was not a bipedal Pokemon. 

So, he wanted it to be fast and deadly. One of the deadliest things about Tauros was its powerful charge and that was what he would capitalize on. 

That gave rise to 'Grind'. An extremely fast attack that was almost impossible to miss if Tauros was fighting with a Pokemon of the same rank. 

Learning Grind was not easy. 

For Tauros to learn Grind, it had to level up 'Thrash' to level 40 and learn and level up 'Stomp' to level 45.

Thrash (Lvl 40) : The chance of getting confused is decreased by 50%

Stomp (Lvl 45) : Increase the intensity and speed of the Pokemon.

One of the main disadvantages of charging type attack was the speed of the attack. The speed would be so high that even the user would be confused. That was what happened during 'Thrash'. 

'Thrash' was a powerful attack but that also made the user confused. Axel didn't want the same to happen in this new move. So, Axel trained Tauros in such a way that it would not be confused while using 'Thrash'. 

He didn't get the desired result, but a 50% decrease was still something. Axel then told Tauros to apply the same concept on its new move. 

'Stomp' was to increase its speed. Unfortunately, Tauros would not learn any moves that would increase its speed like 'Agility'. So, Axel had to compromise. 

The original function of 'Stomp' was to stomp the enemy with its big foot. When Axel told Tauros to learn the move and when it showed it to Axel, he realized that it could also be used to increase the speed of Tauros.

Tauros would move its hooves in such a way that it would increase the speed while using 'Stomp'. 

After doing all this, it was finally able to learn the move 'Grind'. 'Grind' was not as powerful as 'Thrash' but it was the fastest move of Tauros. If 'Grind' were to further level up above 40, it might be its ultimate move in the future. 

Axel told it to rest and adjust to its new rank for 2 days and then he would think up a new plan for it.

A few more days passed and only 1 day was left before the completion of 1 month of training.

Axel was swinging the sword with all his might and power. Only 1 day was left and he needed to master the manual. 

He would spar with Red for 2 hours and then continue his training. Red didn't prefer to use swords but he had some knowledge about it. Even though he didn't train in swords regularly, his knowledge was far higher than Axel's. This was the difference between them.
