440 Axel Vs Gayden
Axel had still not called Charizard and Shedinja. He was going to call them in finals. He had 2 king-rank Pokemons with him and he was very sure that Gayden didn't have 2 king-rank Pokemons.
He was battling Gayden tomorrow. The end of the Round Robin was almost here and everyone was excited. Axel just wanted to fight with Bruno and teach him a lesson. He did say that he was the one who had discovered the evolution of Crobat but he knew that the crowd had not fully believed him.
After the end of Round Robin, the finals would start after 2 weeks. So, he would have a lot of time to train his team members. Axel was very harsh on them training their bodies and activating their auras. They were soldiers previously so their bodies were muscular and they used to train. So, it was not hard for them to get used to the new routine.

His battle was the first battle. Axel and Gayden, both had 4 points. So, the winner of this battle would go to the next round. There would only be 8 contestants in the finals and finals would be a knockout round.
Gayden had only been using one Pokemon throughout the league battles. That Pokemon was Machamp.
If anyone was going to say that Machamp was an average Pokemon, Axel would smack that person's head. Machamp was a powerful Pokemon. It was around 5-6 feet tall. It had 4 hands and strong legs. It was very bulky. It was a fighting-type Pokemon and it hit hard.
However, Gayden's Machamp was a bit different. First, its height was above 6 feet. This gave it an intimidating personality. Secondly, it knew a lot about fighting.
There were fighting-type moves but these were different from fighting itself. This Machamp was well-versed in martial arts. Using these martial arts with fighting-type moves was very deadly.
Axel didn't want to take any risk and wanted to use Nidoking to finish the battle. However, Machamp had an ability called 'Guts' which would raise its attack power by 50% when it was poisoned.
Now, Nidoking could win even with such disadvantages but he didn't feel like using it.
He wanted to use Steelix but Steelix was weak to fighting type moves.
He was sure that since both of them were in king rank, they could win against this Machamp but he wanted to try something different.
He didn't want the crowd to think that he was just dominating the league battle due to his 2 king rank Pokemons. He wanted the crowd to support him.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the final day of the Round Robin and this is the first battle. Gayden vs. Axel. Who do you think would win? Will Gayden's Machamp win or does he also have a king-rank Pokemon? Will Axel win with his king-rank Pokemon or will Gayden surprise us all?
We will have to see the battle to know the answer to this question...."
The commentator went on and on and now the referee was ready too.
"Gayden, you have lost the toss. Please send out your Pokemon first.", said the referee.
Gayden nodded his head and threw out a ball in the air.
"Come out, Machamp!!!", he shouted.
Axel was 99% sure that Gayden would use Machamp but he was not 100% sure. Now he was.
He had been thinking about which Pokemon to use for his battle and had finally come to a conclusion.
"Let's do it!!!", he shouted and threw a master ball.
It was a humanoid Pokemon with a big mustache. It had a long, thin snout, narrow eyes, ear-like spikes extending from the top of its head, and an additional spike protruding from each cheek. Covering its yellow, skeletal body were brown armor-like sections over its chest, shoulders, forearms, and knees. There were three toes on each foot, each of which had a white claw. Two of the toes face forward, while one faces backward.
It was a different Pokemon this time. It was Alakazam.
"Axel had sent out a different Pokemon this time. It is Alakazam. He had only used Gogoat, Steelix and Nidoking before. This Alakazam looks like it is a pseudo-king rank Pokemon. Why would he not use Nidoking at the finals?", said the commentator.
Alakazam was the perfect counter for this battle. Machamp was weak to psychic-type attacks and Axel could use that to his advantage.
Alakazam was very powerful. It was on the verge of reaching king rank. So, it would definitely not lose to someone like Machamp.
"Let the battle begin!!!"
One of the most comfortable things about Alakazam was that he didn't have to actively instruct it in the battle. Alakazam was wise enough to fight for itself. This gave Axel a competitive advantage to Gayden cause unlike Gayden, Axel would not waste his time instructing Alakazam which gave him enough time to observe the battle with a wide view.
Gayden would also not know which moves would Alakazam use as Axel was not saying them out loud.

When the referee gave the signal for the start of the fight, Alakazam disappeared and appeared at the back of Machamp. Machamp could not comprehend what had happened.

Alakazam's Teleport has leveled up to 55. It can now teleport very fast.

This was a surprise and it was a good surprise.
Machamp was very bulky but it was also very fast. However, it was not as fast as Alakazam's teleport. When Alakazam appeared behind it, Machamp didn't know where its opponent was for a second and that was when Alakazam attacked.
Alakazam used a powerful 'Confusion' to Machamp. After crossing the threshold, 'Confusion' now had a 50% chance of confusing the target and it was a lucky day for Alakazam cause Machmap was confused.
Alakazam then used 4 moves in quick succession which basically decided the battle result.
It first used the 'Psychic domain' which would boost the speed of psychic moves and also the duration of 'Enhance'. It also used 'Disown' and then 'Enhance'. Finally, it used 'Elemental manipulation' and created spears made of electric current and started to throw it towards Machamp.

Multiple short explosions happened. It could not use multiple spears to attack with ease. It could also do that very fast. It didn't want Machamp to come over its confused status when it was spasming those attacks so it was trying to do everything very quickly.
When the first round of 'Elemental manipulation' finished, Axel said,
"Light, don't waste any time. Use 'Rain dance', 'Thunder', and then 'Elemental manipulation'."
'Rain dance' was a new move it had recently learned. It had learned this move for only 1 reason and that was for the accuracy and power of thunder. As of right now, 'Rain dance' could only improve the accuracy of 'Thunder' but it might also be able to improve the power of 'Thunder' when it reaches level 40 and above.
This was the most powerful move combination of Alakazam. Since it was using the 'Psychic domain', the psychic moves were very fast. It was 50% more powerful than before due to 'Enhance' and 'Machamp' was feeling weaker due to 'Disown'.
This made the next attacking move very powerful and effective. First, Alakazam started to move in a weird way and the sky darkened. The sky started to roar with lightning and rain started to pour in the stadium.
Alakazam then readied its thunder spears again and threw the spears towards Machamp. The thunder came from the sky and struck those thunder spears.
The thunder spears became even more violent and powerful after being struck by thunder. It was as if they had been reborn again.
BBBBOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!
A huge explosion occurred and the crowd stopped talking. They were already surprised when Alakazam used a pre-domain move. The explosion was massive it was sure that Machamp would not stand again in this battle.
The dust and debris cleared and everyone could see that Machamp had fainted on the ground. It was many injuries and wounds on its body. It was seriously injured.
It was a pseudo-king rank Pokemon and it could not do anything against another pseudo-king rank Pokemon. This showed how seriously powerful Alakazam was. Power didn't only mean it in a traditional sense. But its power to analyze the opponent, time its attack, and its battle strategy was very good. That was the reason why Machamp could not even use a single attack on it.
It had improved a lot and he hoped that it would rank up soon.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Axel Blaze is going to the Finals!!!"
The crowd gave a loud cheer. They still could not believe the power of Axel's Alakazam. As per them, it could not be considered as a pseudo-king rank Pokemon. It should be a king-rank Pokemon and yet it was not.
Gayden could not describe what he was feeling. He was basically humiliated. If Axel had used a king-rank Pokemon and defeated him like that, he could have understood, the crowd would have understood.
But Axel just owned him and this battle with a pseudo-king rank Pokemon.
After the fight, Gayden didn't want to show his face to anyone. Slowly he had started to hate Axel. He knew that Axel was wrong cause it was a league battle. But he just could not help himself hating Axel to the core.
Meanwhile, Hector, Sam, and Troy had come to see Axel's battle and they were surprised beyond words. They knew that Alakazam was a strong Pokemon. But this strong?
Their belief to follow Axel grew and the other team members also felt the same.
Axel had now cemented his position as one of the strongest contestants for this league battle.

Lance and Bruno also won their battles and they were also going to the finals. The battle lineups for the final were not yet announced. Axel wanted to fight with Bruno as fast as he could. He had around 2 weeks and now he was going to call Shedinja and Charizard for the finals.
He wanted to see how powerful they had truly become.

Axel was now heavily concentrating on training his team members. Alon had finally ranked up Krookodile to pseudo-king rank. Dornton was still training his Pokemon to rank up to pseudo-king rank and Axel believed that it would not take so much time to fulfill all the conditions for the league to give them the title.
It was only 2 weeks before the start of the final and he didn't want to train his Pokemons. He wanted them to rest. He did tell Pokemons like Tauros, Absol, Pidgeot; those who would not participate in the league battle to train.
However, he didn't want those who might participate in the league battle to train right now.
Axel was also finally able to contact Red.
"I am sorry Axel. But I am very busy right now and Oak called me before the meeting time. Now, I know that you can win this league battle. There is no doubt about it.
I feel that Bruno might give you a challenge though.", said Red over the phone call.
"Yes, I also think the same. Do you think that he had a king rank Pokemon?", asked Axel.
"I don't know but he might be. His body is very strong. Not as strong as you but I could see that he had focused on training his body and aura powers. He must have a very good teacher. So, he might have a king-rank Pokemon but I can tell you one thing for certain. Except for him, none of the final contestants has a king-rank Pokemon."

"Yes, I am very sure."
"Any last advice?"
"I have got 2 of them in fact."

"First of all, don't use any Pokemons that you have not used in a gym battle or league battles till now."
"Oh yes, I completely forgot about it."
"Yes, I thought that you would. There are some leagues in other regions, that would not let you use the Pokemon that you had used in other regions's gym battles and league battles. So be careful about it cause you have plenty of options."
"And the second advice?"
"Be very careful and conserve the energy. I believe something big is going to happen during the league battle."
"What is going to happen?"
"I don't know. They won't tell me. Since I have recently given up being a Pokemon master, most of them are very upset with me. So, I don't have a good a good relationship with them. So, they won't tell me.
Even Oak would not tell me but I can see in their faces that something very bad is going to happen.

"If something bad is going to happen, I think that league is aware of it. Would they not stop the league battle at that point in time?", asked Axel.
