As soon as John got into the house he walked towards the table. When he saw the table he looked at the person sitting on it. He had short black hair and black facial hair. He had a lean look to his body but had bags under his eyes.
"Hello dad"
"Hello John. How was the walk today?"
"It was like normal. There was nothing to really see but I was finally allowed up onto that walls and was able to see outside them."
"Oh! the guards rarely let anyone near the top of the wall."
"They said it couldn't hurt to see the outside world once before my possible journey."
"Oh what was it like?"
"It was very anticlimactic. There were no Pokémon that I could see but I still got to look into the outside of the wall."

3 years later
---------------------------
"Hello children. There is no need to be afraid as we are all equal here. Now before the test goes underway, would anyone like to volunteer to become a Pokémon trainer?" Said the instructor.
For about 10 seconds there was nothing. Not even a whisper. Then suddenly there was a kid that put his hand up. Now who else would it be other than our very own MC, John.
"I wish to volunteer to become a Pokémon trainer." Said John with confidence.
There was a round of whispers for around 10 seconds before the instructor raised his hand. After he did that everyone went quiet.
'Finally after 3 years someone actually volunteered to become a Pokémon trainer.' Thought the instructor.
"good good. Please come up to the stage and stand to my left volunteer."
John started to walk through the crowd and finally got to the stage after about 1 minute. As soon as he got up the stairs he immediately walked over to the left side to the instructor.
"Now do we have anymore volunteers?."
Once again there was silence until the instructor waved his had. After he did that 3 sets of double doors opened to the side he waved to.
"Now children, please enter those doors in and orderly fashion and wait to be assigned a seat to do the test." After the instructor said that, he watched them enter the door until almost no one was left. He then turned towards John.
"What is your name son!"
"My name is John Liezel instructor."
"I will get someone to book a device for you to call your parents with and tell them that you volunteered."
"Thankyou instructor."
"Now follow me newbie." We walked for around 1 minute until we came to a big building coloured red and white.
"This is the Pokémon League headquarters, This is where we go to get our levels upgraded and this is where you will get your starter Pokémon. Though you will have to wait about 3 hours before you can even pick one so go in and have a look at what Pokémon there are. You have 3 hours to decide which Pokémon you want so choose wisely."
After he finished saying that he walked into the building and went straight to the front desk. There was a girl with blue hair tied back into a pony tail working on her computer there. As soon as she looked up she noticed the instructor and said in a smile.
"Ah hello Robert. What can I do for you today?"
"This child has volunteered to become a trainer. Please let him use one of the computers in here and also let him see the starter Pokémon."
"Sure. I will handle that immediately." She said while getting out of her chair and walked towards the computers.
"What are you doing newbie? you should be following her, not staring into space."
"Ah yes instructor" After the warning from the instructor, John ran after the girl and after catching up, walked right behind her.
"Ah children these days. I guess I better report this to my superiors." said the instructor while holding his hand over his forehead.
