"Don't worry," chirps Sugar, "let's ask Robin. She knows a lot about Pokémon and can help us choose."
"Good idea," Monet agrees, pleased with her sister's suggestion.
"Take your time and try to decide in the next couple of days," Dak advises before heading to the Mystery Hatchery branch in Water 7 to find Bon Clay, who has been managing the store.
"What's up?" Bon Clay knows there's more work to be done as soon as Dak appears.
"Put up a sign out front: 'Pokémon Performance Match coming soon. Tickets 10,000 Berries each, includes a trip to the mysterious Pokémon Island where the Mystery Hatchery's ace Pokémon will demonstrate their power.' Make sure to include an image of Sceptile," Dak instructs, planning to promote the event locally in Water 7.
The 10,000 Berries ticket price is affordable for those who can buy Pokémon eggs, targeting local trainers-to-be, as well as members of the Navy and the Whitebeard Pirates.
These novice trainers, unfamiliar with Pokémon, are crucial for Dak to complete his main quest as their awe at the Pokémon's powers will fulfill the 'spectacular' requirement of the quest.
Conversely, while the first battle might surprise the powerful individuals from the Navy and Whitebeard Pirates, it's unlikely to impress them as 'spectacular.'
Only the later battle will shock them—not just spectacular, but downright terrifying.
However, that battle, no matter how fierce, cannot help Dak complete his main quest, as Sceptile and Darkrai are too old.
