Meeting The Student Council

After spending a few days with his family, Karl and Dimitry took the family private plane to Spitsbergen, an island in the Arctic Ocean thought to hold many mysteries from the greatest gate breakout in history, which occurred a century ago. During that occurrence, the Espers Academy thrived, and it was this incident that established the Espers Academy as the most prominent school on the planet, a school that every esper desired to attend. On the island, there was an airport, and different planes with each family or clan emblem could be seen at the airport, Dimitry's eyes couldn't get enough of it. Because it was an esper school, the rules and setting were different from those of a wealthy child's school. Escorts or bodyguards were not permitted, and in the Esper's academy, it is not about wealth or nobility, but about the strong, who always ends up being a person of high standing, but in this Esper's school, there were still many strong people who had no blood of nobility in them. A driver drove Karl and Dimitry straight to the academy; before they left, the uniform was brought to them and both of them had changed; all the way, Dimitry grumbled about how he wasn't an Esper, until Black stepped out to explain. He was also surprised to see Black, but Black determined on his own that it was safe to show himself because he knew Dimitry would be stuck by Karl's side for a long time. They both got at the school, and the structure was insane; Karl had never seen anything like it; everything was glass, and it was an exceptionally tall building.

The chauffeur dropped them off and bowed as they drove away; from the car park, it was simple to find their way because they noticed other students wearing the same uniforms as them travelling in the same direction. The boys donned maroon shorts, a white shirt, and a black coat with a maroon neck, while the girls wore the same look but with a coat.

They all entered the hall where all the students sat and waited; it was a vast hall with over a hundred new students, just the population of newly accepted pupils. Entry into the academy was low compared to other academies due to its high demand.

Esper's academy was known to have a population of five hundred seniors and juniors combined, it was a small number compared to the ratio of the world that was because not everyone could go to the Esper's academy, they were other academy that trained espers too but Esper's academy stood out because it was the first academy created by the first generation of espers and because of the incident a hundred years ago. However, their admittance rate was very low; only the finest of the best were allowed, unless such a person was petitioned by a clan leader; competition within the school was fierce, and some avoided it due to the costs.

Karl looked around, the sight of many faces piqued his interest, and he was excited about all the fun he would have from now on. "ho-ho... so all these kids are espers," he exclaimed excitedly to himself.

Dimitry just kept to himself; there were so many things he couldn't believe, but the one that perplexed him the most was that he had never in his life wrongly believed he would be attending such a famous institution. He wished his family had lived to witness this day; he wondered how they would react; his siblings would most likely ask him to put them in his bag.

A queue of students arrived on the stage in front of the hall, they were all wearing long trousers compared to the newly admitted, except for the girls who were still wearing skirts, but the first thing to notice was that they all had some kind of millitary ceremonial uniform, a navy-blue short-neck suit and a black trousers, that had one navy-blue stripes on it, but apart from the navy blue.

Others wore a maroon colored shit, a green colored shirt, a grey colored shirt, a black colored shirt, and only two people wore a white-colored shirt, they all wore black trousers or skirts and the color of the stripes on their trouser was the color of the shirt they wore, the girls wore no stripes on their skirts, it was all black, and they all wore a black coat with a maroon colored neck on the dress. They were definitely a stunning sight to behold, looking sophisticated and attractive. Karl thought to himself, "...They look like kings and queens."

Not just Karl, but everyone definitely felt the same way about the students on stage.

.

A man climbed the stage, an old man but tall and well built, his hair was grey, as were his short beards and mustache, and his hair was packed to the back, giving him a unique yet mysterious style, but he was perceived as cool primarily because of his height and eyes, yes, he had a white eyeball compared to many others. The man stood in front of the pupils on the stage, a pulpit rose from the floor, and he cleared his throat as he tapped the pulpit's small microphone. "Hum... good morning, students, and welcome to The Esper's Academy. My name is Heinz Winter... also known as the winter soldier."

All of the students murmured when he stated 'the winter soldier,' but Karl was the only one who had no understanding of what was going on; he softly pushed Dimitry with his shoulder and whispered, "Hey hey, what is the winter soldier?" "What?...you've never heard of the Winter Soldier?" Dimitry was taken aback. "I don't think he's that big a deal; if he was, I would have known," Karl said triumphantly. "Are you serious? You don't know the man who led an army to explore and learn more about Antarctic peninsula but was the only one to return alive?"

"... Isn't he supposed to be a failure? If a man can't even return from a simple exploration with his troops, what good can such a man be in the long run? I'm still baffled as to why this dude is so popular." Karl replied to Dimitry, who was staring at him with a stunned face, "You are unbelievable." "...It's because you don't know anything about Antartica," Dimitry explained.

"Is it more than just a location?" Karl inquired.

"Hell is an understatement when it comes to Antartica," Dimitry remarked, his gaze fixed on the man speaking.

Karl was left to ponder a sentence that he had feared for the first time in his life: '...hell is an understatement...how deadly can this place be, that people consider it an achievement for a soldier to return alive without his army...hm I'm interested'

"...this academy is a school that exists to create pillars: espers, and hunters that will protect not just nations but the world in general, this may be new to you guys but your seniors here already know that our way with the gates is only a pretext of the real war, a war between dimensions, a war of worlds... so we are training you all to be extremely strong no matter what power exists inside of all of you, so that you can all fully utilize your areas of expertise. We want you all to be outstanding espers and hunters capable of defeating the tower, regardless of your rank. So don't expect it to be an easy ride from now on; some of you will give up; of course, you are free to leave the school at any time; and the school can also expel you if you disobey the regulations. Yes, we have rules because we are not training tools or killers; we are training heroes, and heroes are developed and trained by order. Many of you are familiar with the names of rankers; espers and hunters who have graduated from our program and are still pillars of their respective nations and clans today. I urge you to brace yourselves for the next six years. It won't be easy, but it will be enjoyable." The man finished and exited the stage, the students applauded him immediately and did not stop until one of the two students in a white shirt moved to the front of the others, very close to the pulpit, he bent the microphone towards himself and began to speak, elegance rang from his voice, his black hair was neatly packed with some curls, his eyes were deep and unreadable. "My name is Titus Gellius Catulus, and I am the council president," he added, taking a step back.

The other person in white, a girl, stepped forward, her short blonde hair enthralled the crowd but not more than the elegance of her lips as they moved and the arrow of love her gaze shot at the newly admitted student, she was a beauty worth arguing about, "My name is Nova Allyson, I'm the council's vice president, and to my right here is the treasurer..."

A tall, skinny guy in rectangular glasses wearing a green suit walked out and bowed slightly to the throng, "Ethan O'brien," he said as he moved back to the line, and the next person behind him, wearing a maroon suit, came out, "Noelle Phillidor, the student council secretary," he said.

In that order, they each gave a quick introduction of themselves. Following that, the vice president of the student council gave a brief speech to enlighten the students on the purpose of the council, which in a nutshell was to maintain perfect and required sanity among all students. Following that, all newly admitted students were discharged and sent to class on their first day.
