Synopsis

And when the world ends, remember, that we've been together. ----- After Yana suddenly disappeared, leaving behind the cold and unapproachable Luka she finally managed to thaw, she reaped the consequences 5 years later. As a now CEO, Luka swore to do the very same thing Yana did to him prior: Make her life hell (spoil her) Annoy her (dote on her) And most of all- Chase after her While all Yana wants to do is to run away from him! "I'll buy the whole orphanage, give all the kids the best life so don't worry about them, come into my arms. You're mine and I'm yours." "No." "All the flowers, give them to me. I'll take care of them, so you don't have to. Now, come into my arms." "...No." "I'll become the king of the entertainment industry so-" "Stop! Please just stop chasing me!" But then- The world ended and they both... They both stood on different sides. As enemies. A desperate war for survival started but it wasn't until then when he asked her, "Who are you really?" In a battle of supremacy, in a fight for sanity what will precede? "I'll protect you even if storms trap me, even if I have to walk through the bloodiest battlefields, even if I have to pry open hell with my bare hands, I'll protect you, so wait for me." But the truth is, a dark secret lies behind Yana- "I don't need you to protect me. Protect your own life because you'll die." 'They show no mercy, this crooked world doesn't, so follow me to the end until we see them all burn.' ------------- Disclaimer: This will have profanities and foul language This is not a typical CEO story, as it later on will be more action-based! It will start out as a light-hearted and fun story but will get darker in the second half. The beginning can be considered a big prologue until the time skip and this story is rather slow paced. It's also a slow burn romance, so please don't expect the FL and ML to immediately get together! Cold FL x Clingy ML Picture does not belong do me. Credit to the artist.

Chapter 1Who is he again?

Seven years ago. City M. Country C.

On a bright sunny day, on the campus where masses of students poured into the uni buildings, creating a stream like fishes swimming in one direction, a pair of sneakers dashed across followed by a pair of pretty sandals.

The first years came back from their summer holidays, their vibrant smiles and excitement still held the naivety and vigour the seniors once had, but as dust flew up and wind stormed past their figures, they perplexed turned around to find the source.

Intimidated yet awed they watched, silently praying for the guy that was chased relentlessly by a beautiful girl.

Round eyes with long lashes, a beautiful curved nose and luscious lips gave off a seductive look yet innocence radiated from the bright eyes of the girl. Her long black hair bounced behind her and her charm instantly captured everyone she passed.

Even though her features were elegant and tempting, none of it was present in her actions, instead, she was bubbly and cute, a mix that was deadly to both males and females.

Yet this beautiful girl in her skirt and blouse ran after a guy who could barely keep his trousers above his two bottom cheeks.

His roaring voice turned to pleading, "It was a mistake! Stop chasing me! The professor eventually forgets! The geezer isn't even mad, so why the hell are you?"

Yana didn't answer. Her eyes fixated on him and she sprinted faster. The guy felt doom looming over him and said his last prayers.

Why the hell are these delicate girls so damn fast? Where the hell did all of their strength come from?

"Dammit, my pants!" were his last infamous words before Yana caught up to him and made him subject to unforgettable memories.

The moment Yana was only one metre away from him, she jumped, flew in an arc and tackled the guy onto the ground.

Her feet landed on his back and his face hit the ground.

"Perfect," with a brilliant smile, Yana dusted her clothes as she got off the guy.

Her hair flying behind her, she viewed her masterpiece. Flat as a pancake her fellow uni mate laid on the ground.

"You didn't need to run away, this could've been solved peacefully," Yana shrugged her shoulders as the guy sat up and rubbed his face.

"Peacefully my ass, you used me as your stomping target."

"Everyone needs in-real-life practice," Yana smiled again.

The guy was unfazed by her beauty, instead, her words almost drove him insane. She was after all doing it on purpose!

With each step Yana closed in on him, desperation rose in his pitiful body and he held his hands up, "At least let me pull my pants up!"

Yana looked below his stomach and her smile grew wider.

"There's nothing, so don't worry about flashing."

BAM.

Not only was his dignity destroyed in front of everyone but his manhood suffered a death blow as well.

The uni beauty was too vicious. This wasn't a beauty! This was a pure helper of the devil!

On the other side, Yana was extremely happy. She pulled the guy by the ear behind her and basked in all the admiring gazes she didn't notice.

For her good deed she's just done now, the professor promised her the VIP menu in the cafeteria. The most revered item in all universities across the country.

Anything any gourmet lover could imagine was available. Only the top of the top students were weekly granted this opportunity, yet here Yana was.

She only needed to grab this troublemaker and her ticket to tastebud heaven was secured!

How great was life? Unbelievably! What could top this? Nothing!

Even at the thought, Yana had to hold back her drool and a light chuckle escaped her lips.

Yet this pleasant laugh in everyone else's ears only sent the guy further down the seven layers of hell.

Yana cautiously pulled the guy behind her and he just gave up, sliding on the ground with a blank expression.

Yana hummed, "Will you ever do it again?"

"No… no ma'am please forgive me," having received a pentakill, the guy lost all of his will to live. He didn't even bother pulling up his trousers, after all, there wasn't even anything to see!

"The prof decides what to do with you, I'm only the… executioner," Yana knew this made the guy even more despair, "I've to thank you for being my lucky scapegoat."

"Devil..." the guy mumbled as he was brought back to the professor's office.

A beautiful hole was punched into the wall underneath the window and the corpse of a broken trophy laid on the ground.

The professor, a male in his 40s, nodded at Yana.

"Tim," the professor's low voice made Tim shrink in size, "I'm sorry prof, It's just...just… my foot accidentally hit-"

"You were trying to karate my precious trophy into oblivion because I didn't believe your insane karate skills. Good, I've seen it and the impact it makes," everyone stared at the gaping hole in the wall.

"It's quite breezy though," Yana defended Tim all of a sudden.

Yana wasn't wrong. A really nice breeze aired out of the hot room from the hole.

The professor gave her a look and then sized Tim up, "What's with your appearance? Can't you even pull up your trousers?"

The angry voice made Tim squeal. Yana didn't want to admit but she was slightly amused.

"Yes, sir," Tim meekly complied.

"My job's done here, the voucher?" Yana playfully held her hand out.

"Here," the professor handed her the golden coupon and Tim widened his eyes, "You sold me off for this?"

Yana's beautiful eyes twinkled and she said, "Adios," before she left the room, skipping down the hallway.

The most desired possession was hers!

City M was a famous city in the country, known for its prestigious university and it was home to many companies and conglomerates. It was an A-tier city in which anyone who possessed wits, talent and a silver tongue could rise.

However, lately, throughout the world, uneasy tumults have been rising and politics was adored as never before and was a battlefield for the power-hungry.

Various governments have responded to the tension between the countries with a tremendous increase in military strength, incessantly pumping money into the army.

The result was creating new weapons, powerful enough to wipe out almost an entire country.

It was akin to a nuclear bomb but was more evolved yet as if magic was placed, its after-effects were less deadly and so the nuclear winter could be prevented.

However, this was only in theory, such a dangerous weapon, fortunately, hasn't been used yet.

The billboards across all cities relentlessly displayed ongoing news and updated meticulously the status of the world. Nothing was more important than politics. A world in which everyone strived to become a politician.

And the prestigious university in City M was the number one place to study for the up and coming politicians. Despite the heavy media exposure of unsettling news, the public unfazed continued their daily lives. They trusted their governments to make the right decisions.

Just as the students in the uni cafeteria talked about parties and relationships, it showed no one truly took the news seriously.

The university in City M was the biggest in the country and housed seven colleges that were spread across the large campus. Next to each college were two dorms for students.

From the classrooms to the hallways everything about the university was modern and posh. The cafeteria made up the whole ground floor and was completely surrounded by windows, letting the bright light flood the place.

The door to the cafeteria opened and with a gentle smile in everyone's eyes, Yana stepped through heading straight to the counter.

Her beauty was unparalleled and her energy unrivalled. Cheerful, fun and beloved were the words that hung around her and made everyone want to get closer to her.

Not noticing their stares, Yana handed the cafeteria lady her golden voucher. Her smile was brilliant and her happiness showed through. This was the uni's beauty.

Yet running up to her and crushing Yana in a bear hug was a tall girl with a slender figure. Another round of awe-inspiring looks followed.

Mia with her top model looks and her sultry eyes was the target of affection of many males. The university's idol. Her brown hair flowed effortlessly over her shoulders and the dress she wore highlighted her body.

"Heard you were taking up a guy," her deep voice hit anyone deep in their cores. She grinned as she hit Yana in the sides.

Yet the way Mia talked was more tomboyish than feminine.

"Worth it," Yana pointed at the golden coupon the lady held and Mia's grin instantly dropped.

If Yana was like the bright sunlight charming everyone, Mia was the dark night lulling everyone. They seemed to be polar opposites but no one got along better than them.

In a uni full of politics majors, Yana was one of the rare ones who studied economics. Even Mia was studying politics.

"Alright, get off your high horse," Mia rolled her eyes, "Do you think as the student ambassador you can just bloody chase a guy like a poor chicken around a campus? Think about your reputation."

"Does it matter? Tim obviously enjoyed it," Yana's eyes were fixated on the tray before her that was slowly filled until her eyes lit up and she shook Mia like a bamboo stick being clung onto by a panda.

"You see that? My dear? You see that? That's what I mean by worth it. I'll gladly throw my reputation down the toilet for this beautiful A5 wagyu, look at the marbling, look at the-" Yana's mouth was covered by Mia.

"You're drooling, stop it," after Mia removed her hand, she disgustingly wiped it off on Yana's blouse.

Yet Yana didn't care, she was too enamoured at the beauty in front of her. Handling the tray like it was her newborn child, Yana walked towards the seating places. Anticipating gazes followed her hoping she would choose to sit next to them.

Yet Yana blindly sat down somewhere without realising until she looked up and met a pair of cold and indifferent eyes. A shiver ran down her spine and almost numbed her legs.

The person who sat before her was the only one at the table in the cafeteria brimming with students.

His relentless stare followed Yana as she wanted to say something but Mia pulled her away, "Are you crazy? You bloody know not to get close to him!"

"Why?" Yana's soft question made the male in front of her raise his eyebrows.

"Who is he again?" the next made everyone around them choke on their food.

After all of this time, how could she not know?

A.d.d.i.c.t.i.n.g and Compelling! Absolute hidden Gem. Beautifully written story and fascinating, unique premise. High quality webnovel. Dazzling genuine five stars for Author's style of writing as I found myself repeatedly amazed at how rich and beautiful her writing is. MatchaMilk is so great with her choice of words and her style in structuring sentences. Her writing is top notch and quite poetic, the way the scenes are told is exquisite. Especially the dialogue writing, one could feel the characters through their interaction which is written in fresh and unique style. I find the writing here is up to professional standard as throughout the story you will find little to no mistake in grammar. This book is extremely comfortable to read, way above most of Webnovels. Writing wise, story wise, characters wise, female lead wise, male lead wise, world building wise, All rightly deserve perfect five stars. The way author pictured and explained things is great. Story development has been great so far, the pace is good, the anticipation and guessing keeps me at the edge every time. The story is filled with emotions and feelings that are portrayed well. I find the female and male lead, Yana and Luka are great and deep written characters, perfectly complement each other. As a person, they're nowhere near perfect, with many flaws, but that's the very reason why they're great written characters, having a lot of room for development. Yana is such an independent and strong woman, with a dark secret which she perfectly hide deep within while Luka, at first, is a cold and uncaring guy, that slowly changing through the prologue of the story into a loving and quite clingy partner. I couldn't wait to read further about them. I've read a lot of Webnovels and this book is among top list that I could find myself so immerse with the story. This author is really talented and creative writer. Very promising book. Believe me I'm not trying to be cheesy here but it's my honest review for this book as I genuinely like this book. My appreciation for great quality book. The bad: It's hard to find flaw in this book really, as this book is almost flawless. From writing, story, premise, characters and everything is great. It's hard to be objective when this book is my very cup of tea. However, I got bad omen regarding the direction of the story is heading, knowing the future in the prologue and the hints that author keeps on dropping. A lot of suspense and thrill should be expected. And the last, it's shame to say but the level of writing in this book (for me personally as a writer) is kinda discouraging. I mean, writing wise, this book is simply great. I wish I could write like this someday, well don't mind me. Overall, It's truly great reading experience. It's honest review from me. I wish you could write this book to the very end, such a very nice story. Anyway, best luck to you MatchaMilk!
