Chapter six

Dion Brisbane, heir to the dukedomship of Suffolk and Emilia Warwick, first born child and only daughter of the Earl of Buckingham.

Both walked stealthfully towards the Burke home, they had both agreed on sneaking into the Burke house; first to see if Sarah Burke was in no real danger, and second, to search for any clue that might help them with the case. They hadn't walked for long when the sounds of a shovel hitting the ground was heard, they stopped immediately, moving cautiously they both walked towards it.

On arriving at the scene, they were both shocked to see what they saw;

Tilda, was vigorously digging the ground with her small hands, a body wrapped in black linen lay right beside her, void of life.....

The mere sight of it would hunt them for years to come. Dion felt sick to his core.

Who would suspect a little girl doing such a despicable thing.!!

Without warning Emilia stepped out of her hiding spot before he could stop her, slowly approaching the girl with caution.

Tilda? Is that you love?

Tilda jumped back immediately, a bit surprised but ready, pointing a knife at Emilia.

Whoah! easy there love, let's talk hmmm?

No! what do you know?!! you're assuming I killed her aren't you!!

That must be the maid that tipped us about the graveyard.

Emilia thought sadly.

No love, I don't, truly I don't think you're the one.

Really? you don't?? Why don't you think so?

she asked pointing the knife back at Emilia.

Because I Know you're not that kind of person, I Know you're being manipulated by someone, just like your sister, Tony right?

At this the knife slowly slipped out of her hands and fell to the ground; she crumbled to the floor crying bitterly. Emilia went to her side, drew her close up to her chest and embraced her as she cried calling out her sister's name. Dion watched silently from afar - whoever the culprit was must be a monster to be able to hurt a girl this bad,

he thought.

Minutes later they were heading towards the Burke house with one goal in mind; to get the killer rightfully punished for what they've done!!

Tilda told them everything she and her late sister and the slaves in the Burke had been going through at the hands of their mistress, Sarah Burke!! The woman is a monster,

Emilia thought.

She had been forcing Tony and Tilda to imperaonate her two daughters whom she already killed, forced them to report anybody that gossiped about the Burke family do she could get rid of them and left them with the gruesome task of burying their bodies.

Tony, the twin sister, had been forced to commit suicide when she couldn't take it anymore.

When they asked her why they hadn't tried escaping, she said anyone who tried escaping would just disappear, they would later find the fellows body tied up in the basement; dead!!

Surely enough, the dead body Tilda was about to bury was Mrs Jakes, the maid that talked to them.

Dion? she called

What is it? he answered.

Sarah Burke probably has somebody assisting her in all this right?

Yes, cause she possibly can't be doing all this alone.

Can we handle two killers alone?

Don't worry, I'll protect you.

It's not that dummy, only GOD can protect me,......... and I meant I don't want anything to happen to you.

Oh, he said.

He stopped, held her still and drew her close.

Whoah!

Well Emily, in case I don't make it out alive, I want you to know that I forgive you, infact I was never really angry with you in the first place. I was just afraid I had lost you forever, moreover, I want you to know that I...........

Stop! she halted him.

What's wrong?

Wait till all this is over, then we'll talk about this, okay?

Okay,

he said.
