31. Hacker X

Ren Wei led RuQian towards the conference room. RuQian looked around the floor. Her office was on this floor. Usually there weren't any offices on this floor, only the conference rooms for meetings but RuQian had so many meetings to attend that she had her office shifted to this floor.

She had spent more time in her office and in the company than at her house. This place brought back a rush of memories. All the times she just slept back in her office, all the times she did not even bother to eat food, the times she had Bebe Rexha's, I'm a mess on repeat. The song was given to her by Lan Xie, she wanted RuQian to be in the right state of mind and not go back into depression. Music helped her keep a sane mind in ways she didn't expect it to be able to. So sometimes it was either this song or Rachel Platten's, Fight Song. But those songs were not even released yet, RuQian sighed.

RuQian had not even entered the conference room yet she could hear the yelling inside. When RuQian heard the whole thing, her eyes burned with rage. It had been a while since she had heard these voices. Some colluded with Su Ting in her past life.

Zhang Tech had the chance to collaborate with Mu Conglomerate, in fact she was the one who managed to snag this opportunity. When she was dealing with the paperwork on the night of her death, Su Ting had called her about the details. He wanted to know the terms Zhang Tech would offer Mu Conglomerate.

She understood that he had insider information so after declining him she investigated and found out who they were. The voices inside were of those traitors. She had to make sure they were punished for every crime they ever committed. She was sure they had already done a lot. The executives all did their work usually but it was the shareholders that were the scheming scum.

"You sure you don't have some other relations with this so called model you suddenly want to appoint chairman Zhang?"

"Right, we have never needed any model before. Why are you suddenly suggesting one?"

"How do you know this model?"

"Was it at a hotel you met?"

"ENOUGH!" Her grandfather roared. RuQian realised she should enter now, she gestured Ren Wei to announce she had arrived. Ren Wei went in and informed the chairman of RuQian's arrival. "She is here? Call her in." Ren Wei left to escort RuQian in.

When RuQian entered everyone in the room went quiet. They did know a model was coming but this woman was too beautiful. As RuQian was wearing black her skin was even more highlighted and appeared much more pale and beautiful than she normally was. Their eyes widened slightly and some of those old bastards were not even hiding their dirty stares.

Grandfather Zhang had tried to prepare himself for these kinds of behaviour when Xiao Qian had told him she wanted to become an actress but he still got very angry when these bunch of assholes stared at his granddaughter.

She indeed looked very pretty and he was reminded of his wife and daughter. Xiao Qian looked similar to his daughter and had the fiery look in her eyes as his wife. Those eyes reminded him of the determination, the zest to achieve everything in her life. He composed himself and stared down at the leering bastards.

RuQian entered and saw the looks being given to her but she did not say anything. She was the largest shareholder in this company. She had her own shares, her mother's shares and her grandmother had divided her shares into three portions, one of which was hers, the other her grandfather's, the third she did not know. She had not known even in her previous lifetime.

Because this information was confidential she could not ask her grandfather. But she trusted her grandmother to make wise choices, she was a woman who always had the big picture in mind. Her grandfather had told her that her grandmother wanted her to marry a man of her choice and that was whom she had passed the third portion of shares to.

But after everything that had happened in her past life, her grandfather knew how much she despised men. She was the same even now, this hatred was something she was not able to overcome. So her grandfather never brought up the topic of marriage but she figured he would do so in this life. She would have to fend off using a good enough reason.

Her mother had never been interested in business so RuQian figured her grandmother had not left her mother any shares for this reason. Her shares were still locked until she was old enough to receive them. She was going to be seventeen in a few days but only she, her grandfather, Su Ting, and old butler Wong knew her actual birth year.

She would only be able to access her shares after she was eighteen and her grandfather was allowed to change her age limit restriction before her eighteenth birthday if he thought she was not eligible by then. This rule was put by her grandfather who was worried Su Ting would manipulate her to take those shares. That was what she would have done in her past life, but she knew better now. Her grandfather had used this clause and changed her age restriction in her past life, she had only gotten access to her shares on her 25th birthday.

She still had to find out about her grandmother's death. She found out a hacker named 'X' was very good but she had not found any means to contact him yet. She would have to wait for him to take the bait she had placed and then she would have a chance to appeal to him to take her in as his student. The very good ones never accepted students, so she had a very slim chance but she would try her best.

RuQian went towards her grandfather, bowed to him slightly and sat down in the chair to his left when he gestured her to. RuQian figured her grandfather would not want her to let others know of their relationship that soon so she did not address him as 'grandfather', "Chairman Zhang, I hope you have been well since we have last met." RuQian gave a gentle smile.

The executives and shareholders were once again amazed by the woman. She was beautiful as it is but when she smiled she was astonishingly more so. Grandfather Zhang was impressed by this girl, she was intelligent alright. She only referred to him as chairman and not her grandfather, she was professional indeed.

"I have been well, what about you?" RuQian nodded her head slightly. Ren Wei was trying his best to control his laughter, the duo had seen each an hour ago and they were asking about each other's well being as if they had met after years. 'They are related alright. How can they act so well? Young miss did choose the correct profession, she is of course a good actress.'

The grey eyed man behind the camera also smiled slightly when he saw the duo's antics. His assistant though, looked like he would have a heart attack. Earlier the boss had only given a very soft smile but this smile was wider and was not an evil one which he was used to.

He did not know why the boss was taking an interest in this girl but he did see a few similarities. This was the way his boss also spoke, very little but always on point and a lot of times he could not even understand what he meant. This girl behaved in a very similar manner to his boss but this girl did not come off cold as his boss did, she was more warm? Approachable? He did not know the exact word to describe her. She was also usually expressionless but there was a difference between her and his boss. He could not put a finger on it but he knew well enough not to question his boss.
