Fiery Eyes Hides The Grief Within

But before he could examine further, the group of people had come along with their horses, wielding a sort of iron weapons, their grandeur plates were coated with crimson color, giving So Eun an image of that Deity that almost runs him over back in the Tipolo Town.

Seconds passed, the band of disciples didn't dare to make a single move, as the person who created the flames, were not shifting either. His shadow plastered the land they were standing on and dance distortedly right in front of them.

So Eun ignored his cold sweats, although having been drenched in the rain, he couldn't care less when a being is watching their every move. He couldn't fathom why the very existence of this being has a whole other level of wickedness. His demonic energy along with the heat of the flames enraged the evil spirits that were hiding in the forest.

And to define him as a ferocious ghost is to degrade the amount of evil aura he possesses within his presence itself. Effortlessly turning the quiet and somber place into a river of lava roaring atop them, merely ferocious demons couldn't even execute such an act of vileness in front of everyone, and if that is the last possible basis, then only one being can do something like this.

Who else other than the Demon King who was feared by all creatures? Han Min.

While the devastating fiery is devouring the trees, the disciples exclaimed in rejoiced because of the reinforcements, So Eun couldn't help to observe the person quietly.

The irritating sounds of the swords and armors hitting one another could not compare to the dark and placid atmosphere of the other side.

Although standing peacefully and bearing the aura of arrogance, not caring even a single bit of the enemy's pleased reactions. So Eun felt something entirely different.

Because of the flame behind him, So Eun barely managed to make out the person's appearance.

The crowd behind him eventually stopped their pointless rejoicing, acting as if they have already won the conflict. So Eun had an instinct to turn around and look.

They were all wearing the crimson defense plate, going down their horses to stand at the frontline, So Eun dismiss all his thoughts immediately and moved sideways. Making a way for them to take the lead.

Having gone to this point, So Eun remembered another Deity who was wearing the same thing too, so he looked around, hoping for Yeonbin to still be functioning after all that. Behind the marching servants, he found two people who had almost resembled each other.

He narrowed his eyebrows, not resembling one another, realistically speaking, they looked like each other!

Aside from the same armor that they're wearing, their faces are somehow identical!

The other person was rubbing the back of the other one, looking a lot more furious than Yeonbin. So Eun was surprised for a second, he recognized him, so that means that was his twin brother.

After observing them for a while, a vibrant voice resounded through the forest and to the Demon King.

"Our greatest hero, what, got bored by lying low and decided to appear out of nowhere to cause havoc? What a fvcking menace." So Eun tried to find the owner of that voice, and he couldn't believe his eyes, standing a few meters away from Han Min, in front of the lines where he previously stands, was a person clad in elegant defense plate. Its exterior was a mix of striking gold and crimson, the obvious designs were enough to set him apart from his subjects, certainly, this was the Heavenly Emperor, Yang Shen.

And the reason why he couldn't believe it himself, the Heavenly Emperor was spitting with contempt, if any common folks were to hear him spat out his resentment, the treatment towards him would be complicated.

Yang Shen didn't receive a reply, burning and falling pieces of wood were the only sounds that came from the Demon King's side.

His armed men didn't emit a single word too, standing stiffly at his side. So Eun contemplated while he observed the Demon King's face from afar.

However, after a while, So Eun noted the Heavenly Emperor's hands tightened into a fist. And after his glowering eyes didn't evoke a reaction from the Demon King. His other free hand fiercely pulled his sword from its scabbard.

"Well then, let's settle this matter in a different--" A restrained voice had cut him off instantly.

"I have one question." At that moment, the fiery seemed to flash brightly, causing some of them to take a little step back. But So Eun was completely immersed in this whole ordeal.

He caught something when the blaze flared, it fully revealed Han Min's white-paled face, his expression that So Eun couldn't describe.

He felt the chills on his spine went through and notice the servants' figure had trembled a bit.

Yang Shen was also unexpectedly silent, although So Eun can only see his back, he knew the Emperor could be burning holes at that man. Then after a while, when So Eun glanced back at Han Min again, the words were blurted out.

"I will ask you again after all these years, where is he?" Those words and tone of his voice, So Eun didn't know if anyone noticed it, but the atmosphere suddenly shifts into something indescribable.

That's when he noticed that something is off.

However, Yang Shen proceeded to scoff at him. Full of contempt; "Pfft, you can't move on, aren't you? What if I help you remember what was my answer back then?" He scowled and points his sword at Han Min.

Smirking arrogantly at him, as if he knows exactly where to hit a certain spot, he spoke;

"He died because you failed to protect him."

And in that instant, Yang Shen no longer had the mood to laugh when a silvery light flashed through and the armed servants were hurled like an object by the demonic energy, and they all hit the ground with a loud thud.

Yang Shen was instantly plunged onto one of the trees, the impact was a solid one, considering his servants flying elsewhere, and having a hard time to stand up.

Han Min's blackened sword leaves a minuscule gap between the blade and Yang Shen's neck. And almost killing him with his bloody eyes.

Yang Shen gritted his teeth because of the sudden attack and collision. He couldn't do anything but stare piercingly at him.

When the collision happened and all of them tumbled onto the ground, So Eun was no exception, and he was affected too. He coughed out and caress his chest, might be because of the sudden force, his heart had been beating rapidly. But when he saw the Demon King was close to decapitating the Emperor. He scrambled around and ought to find a Deity within this group of soldiers to help him.

However, the next time he wandered his eyes, some of them lost consciousness and mostly were trapped in the ground to never stand up, those demonic wisps of ghosts are the one who was holding them down aggressively, So Eun was all convinced this was Han Min's doing.

Yet when he looked at his condition, as if the wisps of ghosts never sense his presence, he was completely free and untouched. So Eun along with his heart beating almost abnormally had contemplated something. The scenario of him not being recognized as one of the enemies must have something to do with the ceremony. Without the Official rite of a Deity, the ghouls wouldn't depict him as an opponent.

Considering the servant's situation and no one but him was restrained, he had one thing left to do.

Thus, he tried to clutch onto the hilt of his sword and trembled.

"I've had enough of you." Han Min declared devilishly, smirking when Yang Shen tried to struggle within his grasp.

After a while, Yang Shen tried to form words out of his mouth, but abruptly stopped when he gazed his eyes away at Han Min.

At that moment, when Han Min attempted to push on his hand, another blade of a sword had inserted beneath his chin. Threatening him the same.

The silence went on as Han Min smirked, looking delighted as someone is brave enough to stop him. He slowly turned sideways to looked at the person wielding the sword.

So Eun is standing right beside them, firm on his grip on the sword, his hands no longer quivering and appeared to be stiff and reserved. He looked back at him, his heart jumped at the sight, trying to compose himself from wavering.

"Stop this." So Eun didn't expect his voice would still be steady, while he stared intently at Han Min.

However, at some point, when Han Min laid his eyes on him, So Eun saw a glimpse of emotion, he didn't know a Demon King like him would have.

His expression changed, the demonic aura suddenly weakens, the blaze flickering, and that pair of dark eyes showed a human being who is suffering in grief.
