Chapter 14

Eve's POV

"To hear her reason as to why she was overworking herself, that is for me to know because I am, after all, in charge of keeping her here" malamyang sagot ni Ate Cash kaya naman nanatili parin akong naka-bow sa mga elders

"Stop being overly protective, Cashmiere! This insolent child shouldn't move past the boundary! We all know she's the daught---" nanigas ako saka pumikit

"I don't give a damn on which family she came from!" sigaw ni Ate Cashmiere para pigilan ang elder sa gusto niyang sabihin kaya naman napasarado ako ng kamao ko

"I'm the Headmistress! There was no need for the elders to call the council and feed her with scolding! She's not a prisoner now, she's my student!" sigaw ni Ate Cash kaya naman walang nakasagot pero dinig na dinig parin ang mga bulungan at pakikipagsalisihan ng mga matatanda

Pati ako ay hindi nakagalaw sa kinaroroonan ko dahil sa tono ng pananalita niya. Her powerful voice and tone was enough to shut everyone up.

Of course, she's Tito Pisce's daughter.

Hindi ako nagreak nang lapitan ako ni Sir Lucas saka ako pinatayo ng maayos at kinoveran ng blanket ang katawan kong halatang nanginginig.

Nanginginig sa inis at galit.

"Headmistress, please calm down. The council have arrived," sabi ni Sir Lucas pero nanatili lang ang mga mata ko na nakatingin sa lupa

"Headmistress," hindi ako sumagot nang marinig ko ang boses na 'yon

It sounded a bit like... Timothy.

"Sir Tom, I didn't expect for you to come. The Headquarters must be confused for your sudden visit here," bati ni Ate Cash

"As the head of the Council and as your adviser, I had to. The information I've received from your student was more than enough reason for me to come," sagot nang lalaking kinakausap ni Ate Cash

He had a sense of power and authority in his voice. I haven't met him before but I'm sure he's someone I shouldn't try to mess with.

Why? Because I feel like he has a leash on Ate Cash.

"Your student's information was so simple, I never got to finish my meeting with the government and immediately came running here. 'There's an outsider trying to get inside. S Class Underground Agent, Splinter'" sabi ni Sir Tom dahilan kung bakit nakarinig ako ng napakaraming-gasp

"Splinter?! That underground criminal?!"

"Just what on earth is he up to?!"

"Tell me you're joking, Tomas!"

"Child, answer this instant! What are you trying to tell Tomas!?"

Nanatili lang akong nakatingin sa lupa habag pinapakinggan ang mga sinasabi ng mga elders.

"Annoying old-geezers" malamig kong bulong na halatang narinig ni Sir Lucas dahilan kung bakit niya ako hinawakan sa balikat at medyo binigyan ito nang force kaya naman nagpigil ako ng tawa

"My mission was about the disappearances of strong men and women in the village I came from. But while I was observing, I saw Splinter. I dared to follow him, but as they gradually came closer to their destination, I saw two things" sagot ko

Nang nanatili lang silang tahimik at nakikinig sa akin ay huminga ako ng malalim saka pinagpatuloy ang report ko.

"Three dead agents and the Headquarters. Splinter was already memorizing everything about the three agents. Everyone probably knows all about this S-Class Criminal. He can copy a person's physique, memories and even their personalities. When they were about to start to get close to the Headquarters, agents were already going out for their daily patrol. So when they retreated, I immediately returned to the school to report to my master" sagot ko leaving everyone's expressions dark and sullen.

"Elders, she just fainted through working so hard just to get this information. Even if you cannot give a little sympathy, much less an apology, you should be thanking the child," sagot ni Sir Tomas kaya naman napatitig ako sakanya

"The trial ends here," dagdag ni Ate Cash at agad niya akong tinignan

"Follow me," sabi niya kaya naman agad akong tumango at sumunod sa kung saan siya pumunta habang nakasunod naman sila Sir Lucas at Sir Law sa likuran ko

Tahimik lang kaming apat hanggang sa makarating kami sa destinasyon namin, the Headmistress' office.

Agad na tinanggal ni Ate Cash ang coat niya saka ito tinapon sa sofa at tumungo sa table saka umupo sa upuan niya. Napahawak siya sa gitna ng mga kilay niya as an attempt in trying to calm down by massaging her temples.

"Nahimatay ka lang, ganito na ang reaksyon nila, Eve. Ano bang gagawin ko kung uulit pa 'to? Hindi mo ba inaalagaan ang sarili mo? Anong dahilan kung bakit kita nilagay sa team ni Timothy? For your privacy and for you to be able to focus on yourself, right? Ano bang dahilan?" tanong niya kaya naman bumugtong hininga ako

"My body's growing immunity for sleeping pills and it gets harder to sleep each and every night. Kaya kong hindi matulog for about three weeks pero tao parin ako, my senses shut down the moment I saw something that threatens my lost memories" sagot ko kaya naman natahimik si Ate Cash ng ilang segundo

"Was it triggered by those vessels that were filled with liquid chemicals and wiring?" tanong niya at tumango na ako

Nagsimula siyang mag-isip kaya naman hindi na ako sumagot.

"I see. I'll make sure to find something or someone to help you on your sleeping disorder. As for those vessels, it will be transferred immediately" sagot niya saka niya tinignan si Sir Law kaya naman agad na tumango si Sir Law

"It will be transferred on a different facility right away, headmistress" sagot ni Sir Law saka siya umalis

"As a healer, you do know that your body's very important, don't you?" tanong ni Sir Lucas kaya naman tumango na ako

"You know, it's very ironic how you heal people's ailments when you can't even take care of yourself," dagdag ni Sir Law kaya naman napa-make face nalang ako

Old geezers.

"Tell me about it. Sige pa, pagalitan mo pa. Alam niyo ba nung binuhat ko siya eh gaan gaan? Feeling ko nga konting hangin lang eh maililipad na siya," napatingin kami nila Ate Cash at Sir Lucas kay Page na bagong dating lang kaya naman hinarap ko na siya't agad na nagpamewang

"I heard you brought me to the clinic. Well, yeah, I should be grateful, Sir Page" sarcastic kong pagpapasalamat kay Page kaya naman nilapitan niya ako't agad ding nag-crossed arms

"What a fantastic way to say thank you, Eve. As usual, you're still so obnoxious," sagot niya

"Fine fine. You're my hero. Wohoo" natawa siya nang sabihin ko 'yon

"Crazy woman. You better thank Timothy too. He was actually the one who caught you and made sure you were okay. And when I said thank, I meant thank him PROPERLY," sagot niya while emphasizing 'properly' kaya naman nabigla ako

"Timothy caught me? Really?" tanong ko kaya naman tumango siya

"He has a deep sense of responsibility. So he watches his team very clearly," sagot naman ni Ate Cash kaya naman napaisip nalang ako't tumahimik

Well, I guess he has fast reflexes to be able to catch a sudden form falling.
