It has been two days since they have been on the tavern licking their wounds. After falling asleep the first day they arrived, just then they realized how tired they were, maybe not physically, since after some good sleep they recovered, but Fuwa and Raven were mentally tired as well, surviving the shelling of the Black Port, having to walk that long distance until they were rescued by the caravan, facing off against the monsters in the wasteland, one battle after another, and nearly losing all hope was tiring. Plus each of the girls had their own personal quarrels.
But at the morning of the second day...
"Aaaah! Fuwa stupid! You wasted all out money on food!" Raven screamed panicking after discovering they had no more money left.
"What!? You were the one repeating!" Screamed Fuwa.
"I can't believe this!" Raven ran her hands through her short, black hair in frustration "We're broke! Completely broke!"
Fuwa sat cross-legged on the bed, arms crossed and glaring back at her "It's not my fault you ate three servings of roast boar!" she shot back, her voice rising "And don't forget the six rounds of ale!"
Raven whipped around, her ears twitching in irritation "You're the one who ordered the fancy stuff!"
"I was hungry!" Fuwa's voice was defensive, her cheeks flushing slightly "And I thought we deserved a reward after everything. It's not like we get to eat properly every day in this place!"
"If you keep eating like that you are going to become a pig!" Screamed Raven.
"What!? You nasty cat!"
Putting it into perspective, this last two days they had been so comfortable in the tavern that they wasted all their money eating and lazing around. But today was the day. Both of them looked at each other directly to the eye.
"Waaaaaah! We are going to the dungeon!" Finally said Raven with determination, the company of this girl was gonna turn her into a lazy cat if this kept going on.
"I can't hear you!" Said Fuwa extending a hand to Raven in a motion to stop her.
"Grrrr..." Raven gritted her teeth 'This cocky brat! I'm a bad influence on her!'
"I'm too busy winning this conversation!" Then Fuwa erupted in laughter.
For one moment Raven was annoyed, but then she laughed too, this was too stupid, she still had trouble understanding her, she had strange expressions and sometimes she talked about weird shit like 'Otome games' and other weird things. One morning she caught her sitting on the ground sitting with her legs crossed, while she was complaining about how hard it was to 'cultivate' and other weird things, that one time Raven gave her a kick in the ass and told her to grab a shovel if she wanted to cultivate some vegetables.
After the stupid moment was over, Fuwa stood up and a look of determination crossed her eyes, she had been waiting to go to the dungeon. She felt nervous, but at least she wasn't alone in this, and for what she understood, Raven had some experience.
"So what's the plan?" Said Fuwa to the cat girl.
"We are gonna clear the first level of the dungeon today" Said Raven "I wouldn't risk taking a punk like you without any experience to the second level"
"Aaaaaaye!~" Said Fuwa musically extending one arm to the skies but without being loud.
Then they were finally on the move.
On this side of the city, there wasn't the ominous aura of danger that came from the slums, Raven still felt strange, people almost seemed happy, or just going around their own business, there were obviously one or two drunks lying on the streets rambling about but everyone ignored them. Oh, and one thing Raven discovered, is how timid little Fuwa became about bathing, that was another one of the troubles of the causes they had no money, she was too damn timid and request a big bucket of sorts and hot water to bath at their room, she kicked Raven outside too.
'What a wuss' Thought Raven remembering it 'And even she asked for hot water! Damn, rich kid!'
For some reason, the girl looked so strange and yet refreshing at the same time, she picked her interest in the other world, she talked about daily baths with hot water like they were the norm, and missed something like a magical window of sort that showed images of people doing things, and she talked about mechanical horses moving on their own, such foolish things.
As they were near the dungeon, she scanned the surroundings, she was hoping to find Thorsend around, but there was no luck, she visited the store he frequented but they hadn't seen him since they separated some days ago.
'Where is he?' She thought.
In her mind, with Thorsen at the front, Fuwa doing whatever she could with her weird moves, and her covering the rear it would be a good combination to challenge the second level, but now they had to be happy just going inside since they were in trouble, and to keep the lifestyle of the rich girl Fuwa, they will have to work for it.
'Wait' Raven thought 'Why the hell I'm even paying if I'm not enjoying the hot water?'
"Raven, Raven, look!" Fuwa said with emotion pointing at the gate of the dungeon.
"Calm down damn it" Raven said "This is no more time for games, we have to be sharp there to survive, and start praying we don't get the damned swamp!"
"What Swamp?" Said Fuwa with a disgusted face.
"You will find out soon" Raven smirked.
"So it's not just a tower you have to climb to kill monsters?" Fuwa asked confused "They told me I just have to go inside and beat everything that moves then keep climbing"
"They really did send you here to die huh chosen one?"
The blue-haired girl blushed and looked to the other side. Each passing day the bandit was more sure of it, they just send her here to die, and probably summon another chosen one, or whatever they were doing.
"I bet they already are trying to summon a better idiot than you" Laughter escaped the mouth of the cat.
"What!? Are they playing a Gacha game or something?"
"Just please don't use strange words..." Asked Raven annoyed, her laughter dying in her mouth "You will catch the attention of weirdos"
"Did someone said Gacha game!?" Asked someone in the background.
"Don't you dare answer that" Said Raven pointing one finger to her companion.
Fuwa stuck out her tongue and pretended to be offended. Then after a couple of moments, Raven nodded and they stepped inside the death trap known as the dungeon. Raven had kept quiet, but since she had returned, each passing day she felt as if this cursed place called for her, whispered her in her sleep, to step forward.
<<You have entered the dungeon>>
The familiar voice spoke directly to her head, Fuwa near her seemed startled by this.
<<A group has been detected>>
<<Raven 2 lvl 2, Fuwa>>
<<Welcome >>
"Raven! Someone with a weird voice is talking to me!"
This was going to be a strange trip.
