Chapter 8:- The Past

Third person perspective:-

"What do you mean we were bestowed something by the biblical god, i thought we were just a minor family, albeit an ancient one, in the camps under the heaven faction in the great war between the three factions. And what does this have to do with my aura being special, as whatever it is that the god bestowed to my family, it sure isn't with me." Asked ajax in a slight troubled expression, realizing his parent's current unknown condition came from something he and most probably his parents had no knowledge about. 

As, if his parents really were in the known about this, then they would have been ready as something like that, would obviously be coveted by most of the supernatural factions regardless of who they were. Just take the excaliber as an example, even in the broken state, with several pieces, they are still considered as some of the most powerful swords in the world, and are coveted by even divine pantheons.

So given that they were not prepared for the possible attack on their home, and assuming they were not foolish enough to believe that no one will attack them in their home, then the most likely outcomes to infer from this is that either they underestimated the value of the 'supposed' gift from god, or they weren't in the known of its existence

"Why do you assume that the gift was something to be physically owned?, as a matter of fact even if you didn't possessed it, the ring on your finger has sparse traces of its aura similar to you, which would have still made it obvious to others that your family were in the possession of 'it' or were the closest to someone who had 'it'." replied freya, putting the wine glass down for the first time since the conversation started, leaning forward, putting both of her hands on the counter, which emphasized her chest even more, even giving a glimpse of her cleavage through the silver evening gown she was wearing.

"To explain to you, how your aura is special, you have to first understand how auras work. You see aura is a physical manifestation of one's will, power, spiritual essence. Its an essential part of an individual. Basically, you can also call it the magical dna of a person. Freya said, continuing.

"So like a magical imprint?, i assume it is also how different supernatural factions investigate about any criminal's hand in a crime?, by looking for the remnant imprint of their aura left in the crime scene to determine their connection with the crime?" Ajax asked intrigued.

"That's weirdly specific, but yes it is a sound analogy, one's aura is left on a place for a long duration even after their departure from the said place, though it can be erased or controlled to not be left behind if he/she has proper control on their powers, but that is for another time."

"As you must already know Kuoh Town has been the center of Supernatural hubbub for quite a few recent years, due to which the city is covered with numerous imprints of aura of different beings that were ever here or used magic here, which had mixed with each other and formed a 'net' like structure which connects each of their aura's to their respective owners, creating a passive barrier of sorts which sends an instinctual signal to the owners of the aura, when someone 'special' or 'powerful' enters the town." Answered freya.

"So like a bubble made up of magical aura, which is kind of the watered down version of magical trace, the only difference is that it sends a passive signal like a premonition of sorts?" asked Ajax, his inner child's wonder for magic rearing its head.

 "You could say that, now normally the aura dissipates as mana returns to the nature, but because of the intermixing of so many different auras, it ended up making this 'net'. Truly a unique situation." said freya with an amused smile on her face.

"But my aura is masked by my family ring, their is no chance of my aura leaking, so how would the net even discover me?" asked ajax perplexed, "Does your ring mask your aura when you consciously use magic?" asked freya in turn.

Frowning, "Why would i consciously broadcast my aura, that would be foolish of me, i am not even using my family's name in school so that i won't get discovered" Ajax replied

"Not you, but a certain aspect of your aura, which brings me to the gift that the biblical god gave your family" said freya, putting both of her hands under her chin and locking eyes with ajax.

"Do you know about the two heavenly dragons, The Red Dragon emperor and the White Dragon Emperor?" asked freya, continuing, "yes" replied Ajax. "Then do you know why they are called the two Heavenly Dragons?" asked freya again

"Wasn't that just a title given to them, due to them being the strongest after the two dragon gods?" said ajax, looking unsure. "While its true that it is a title given to them, but the reason for it is something else" freya continued, "The reason they are called that, is because of the principles of dominion and supremacy that they stole from the Biblical God, when they attacked heaven.".

"ok but what does that have to do with...", Ajax asked, "Let me finish", freya cutting off, " During the war of the three factions, their came a time where both the fallen angels and devils felt that in order for them to win, they have to cull the numbers of angel, as the no. of high ranking angels surpassed that of both of them. So they teamed up and started killing angels while leading them into unfavorable situations. In one of the similar situations, archangel Gabriel was cornered by the devil Asmodeus and the fallen angel cadre Kokabiel, since all the other strong angels were busy dealing with other enemies, and the god of bible's whereabout unknown at that point, archangel Michael was in a dilemma on how to save his beloved sister. That's when two human brothers who had recently started gaining fame due to their undefeated streak, whenever they fought together, volunteered to go support the archangel gabriel against the devil Asmodeus and the fallen angel cadre"

"Grateful for their assistance, and wanting to further help them so that they can better support his sister, Michael gave both of the brothers something which would help them against their adversaries. As the older brother was a skilled spearman, he lent him the True Longinus which was given to him by the Biblical God incase of emergency, and as for the younger brother, since he was born with the affinity towards the light element, the archangel gave him his blessing which allowed the human to use light better than most angels, and at the same time gave him a feather of his wings imbued with his power, which the younger brother could break and deliver a blow equivalent to the strength of the archangel." Freya continued, seeing as Ajax was immersed in the story.

"Thanking the archangel, the brothers rushed to support the archangel Gabriel, and soon a huge fight started between the archangel Gabriel supported by the two brothers and the Devil Asmodeus and The fallen angel cadre Kokabiel. As the they gradually overwhelmed their opponents and seeing their plan fail, Kokabiel abandoned the Satan on his own accord and fled. Now left alone and cornered, the satan tried what he was most known for on The archangel Gabriel, Seduction."

"The archangel, as innocent as she was, started falling, which was what Asmodeus wanted, and seeing the archangel's once pristine white wings, turn black, the brothers hesitated for a moment, unsure on how to proceed, and that was all the time the Satan needed to escape. Realizing that their enemy escaped, the brothers rushed towards the writhing Archangel, but the process of her falling had already started, not knowing what to do, the younger took out the feather imbued with Michael's power, and used it to slow down the process of her falling, which fortunately worked in their favor, as it bought them time, time enough for the Biblical God to come and save his daughter from falling."

"But wouldn't that be going against his own rules for the Biblical God, as if he could save one from falling, then why not prevent the others from falling?, I mean i am pretty sure he could peer in the future, so why not save his other children, before they showed signs of falling"? asked Ajax, interrupting.

"The Biblical God was a peculiar one, you would have to ask that question to him or his angels, i am afraid i do not have an answer for your question, only speculations of my own" Freya answered, shrugging. "I see, sorry for interrupting, please continue" Said Ajax apologetically.

"Ahh where was i?, yes, after saving his daughter, the god finally turned his attention towards the brothers, who were kneeling in front of him. The God, pleased with them for saving his daughter and at the same time impressed with their prowess, asked them both a question, and told them that depending on their answer, he will reward them accordingly, for their bravery."

"Now what was asked is only known to those who were present there, but after getting answers from both of the brothers, The God did something that will forever alter the course of destiny for both of the brothers. The elder one, whose name was Adriel, was bestowed the principle of 'Perfection' and the younger one who was called Ellijah was bestowed with the principle of 'Excellency'.

"With the addition of these principles the brothers were unstoppable, with perfection Adriel's mastery of spears was second only to the Murugan, who is another aspect of the Hindu God of War Kartikeya. As for Ellijah, he was the one most annoying to deal with, with excellency their was no weakness that he had left behind for himself, the only way to defeat him was to overpower him. But it was when they fought together, that was when they became a nightmare. Imagine fighting a combination of what you excel in and what you are bad at at the same time, just that your opponent has no flaws and don't make mistakes in a fight."

"These two brothers eventually would go on to establish..." Freya says, "The Ansaldo family" Ajax finishing for her.

Nodding, "Alongside Arthur Pendragon, his knights of round table, and other talented warriors rising in different corners of the world, it truly was the golden age of Humanity. Naturally, seeing the brothers getting stronger and gaining fame, many beings started paying attention to them, many had ideas to get rid of them, for they feared what the brothers could achieve if given enough time, but still they let them be, as individually, they could still be dealt with. But the problem came after the death of the brothers, when one of their descendent coincidently was born with both of the principles. And as it always have been with Humanity, listening the stories of his forefathers and having every resources imaginable at his fingertips, the boy grew to be arrogant.

"One day, the boy met a Hindu Sage, who was travelling the world for knowledge, the sage had a beautiful peacock as his companion. The boy having never seen a peacock as beautiful as this before, wanted to possess it. The boy went towards the sage, offered him money, gold ,food in exchange for the bird. But the sage declined saying nothing in this world would make me give up this peacock. The boy got enraged, having never been denied of anything in his life, went anf tried to forcefully capture the bird."

"The sage got enraged, and cursed the boy and any of his future descendants, who would be born with these principles, will loose their ability to loose magic, and from then the decline of your family started." Freya finally finishing up, and again picking up the glass of wine.

Bowing at her in gratitude, " i thank you very much for the valuable history lesson, you are really wise lady Freya" said Ajax thanking her.

"Well, that's how mimir told the story to odin in the past, i was just present there and listened." freya said shrugging and continuing to sip on her wine.

"Oh, said Ajax not knowing how to react, " but that wasn't my reason for telling the story of the descendant to you, do you know why i told you that story?, i could've stopped at the brother's demise"? freya asked raising her eyebrows at him.

"Yes, that i got lucky, since i am most likely born with both of the principles" answered Ajax, "indeed, i do not know how you healed your magic circuits, nor will i ask. But with you the curse is finally broken, and with you inheriting both of the principles, you will sooner or later thrust in the spotlight, so my question is can you take it?" Freya asked smirking.

Ajax smirking back at her, " ofcourse, infact i prefer it this way, otherwise it won't be fun"

A/N:- well here is it, i was really excited as well as nervous about it, as i don't know if you guys will like this. Though do give me suggestion , ideas regarding the abilities i should give the mc, though nothing too op please.
