Victory... but at what cost...?

On the battlefield, When Maharawal Ratan Simha and Alauddin Khilji fought in a hero battle, Gora Singh remembered Aarv's words and kept an eye on the Khilji soldiers who were surrounding the hero battlefield.

As soon as the Khilji soldiers saw that their King was losing the battle, they quickly drew their bows. This action did not escape Gora Singh's eyes as he hurriedly marched his horse in the direction of their king and managed to save their king.

When he saw Aarv coming near him, he looked at him gratefully. He knew that if Aarv had not warned him about the Hero battle, He would have been unable to protect his king.

"Thank you…"

He looked at Aarv and said sincerely. He knew that if Aarv had not provided the intel, the kingdom of Mevad would have lost their king. The respect he felt for Aarv was on a whole new level.

Maharawal Ratan Simha on the other hand looked at Gora Singh with confusion.

'Why did he thank Aarv all of a sudden…?'

He had to ask Gora Singh the reason, but now was not the appropriate timing for asking. So, maharawal Ratan Simha quickly called his subordinate to bring Gora Singh back to the fort and started focusing on the Khilji army in front of him.

While Alauddin Khilji had been captured by the Rajput forces, the news was only known to the personal army of Alauddin Khilji. The news had not reached the common soldiers of the Khilji army.

So, Maharawal Ratan Simha quickly ordered his subordinates to spread the news of Alauddin Khilji being captured.

He wanted to let the Khilji soldiers surrender themselves. Although Aarv did not approve of this decision, he did not disagree as well. He knew that asking for Alauddin Khilji was the bottom line. Any more and his image in Maharaw2al Ratan SImha's eyes will drop.

So, Aarv kept his mute when Maharawal Ratan Simha decided to take war prisoners instead of killing the Khilji soldiers. He also ordered his soldiers to take down Alauddin's war flag and replaced it with the Rajput flag.

The Rajput soldiers quickly took the orders and spread the news of the Khilji Sultan, Alauddin Khilji's capture to the entire battlefield. At first, The khilji soldiers did not believe it, and looked towards the direction where Alauddin Khilji's personal army stood.

When they saw that the Khilji war flag had been replaced by the Rajput flag, they began to believe the roumours theye were hearing about their sultan being captured by Rajputs resulting in their morale hitting rock bottom.

As they say, for a good army, their morale is the most imporatnt thing that keeps them together. As the Khilji army lost their morale, they became doubtful whether or not they will be able to survive this war or not.

As the doubt in their mind began to grow, they started to desperately fight for their livelihood. Right now they did not cared about conquering the territory of Mevad at all, all they wanted was to go back to their hometowns where their families lived.

When Maharawal Ratan Simha saw their desperate attempts to break free, he quickly smiled and ordered his subordinates,

"Quickly spread my orders… those that surrendered, Rajput army will let them go…"

From a commander's prospective, it was a really wise move. When all the Khilji soldiers who were desperate to break free from the Rajput encirclement heard the news, they quickly dropped their weapons and surrender themselves in. On the other hand, the soldiers who were loyal to Alauddin Khilji started to make a big fuss over their cowardice but they were quickly 'Pacified' by the Rajput soldiers.

With this mass surrender of almost 60,000 Khilji soldiers, the battle of Chittod was concluded with Rajput army winning the battle with a huge margine.

Maharawal Ratan SImha quickly gathered all the Rajput soldiers for a victory speech. He knew that it was a historical moment for all the Rajput tribes in the northern parts of India. He looked at the Rajput warriors in front of him who were smiling from ear to ear and said,

"Today, It is a historical even for all of the mevad… We defeated the Khilji army who were disturbing the peace of our Mevad. This event will be recorded in history so that our future generation will inspire from all of you."

"Be proud of yourselves… because you all have defeated 120,000 strong Khilji army with just 45,000. Be proud that because of your heroic deeds, Mevad will have peace and you all have earned it."

"For your heroic deeds, Chittod will held celebration and record all of your names so that the future generations will remember it…"

At the end of the speech, Maharawal Ratan Simha asked the Rajput warriors to collect the bodies of Rajput warriors who had been martyrs in the battle to give them proper funeral when they go back to the fort of Chittod.

When all the post war measured had been concluded, the Rajput warriors started to return towards their home. But when they reached near the fort, they noticed an anomaly.

The for of Chittod was very quiet. The people inside the fort did not came forward to greet the Rajput warriors. Sensing thet something was not right, Maharawal Ratan Simha quickly led his horse towards the fort of Chittod along with his trusted subordinates. When Aav saw this scene, he quickly followd behind them.

When he crossed the first door of the fort, the scene in front of him shook him to the core. In front of the door layed corpses of Khilji soldiers along with the bodies of Rajput women who were lying down with smiles on their faces. Telling the Rajput warriors that they had accomplished something.

The atmosphere of the whole Rajput army turned scilent instantly.
