87 The Last of us II

Jacob hesitated as he thought over his decision. Picking a legacy skill meant finalizing his build so he had to choose wisely. A player could only choose one legacy skill, mix and match with the various other skills they could obtain as they leveled meant that no two players were truly the same. This was a major perk that Pathfinder provided to players, complete freedom, and diversity.

Mirrored Agony seemed like a fun skill to learn, but it was single targeted. Therefore, he tossed it out of the window leaving him with both Twilight and Hour of Dawn.

Both skills were team-oriented and could easily turn the tide of a battle. One increased his allies' defense and gave them the power of zealous warriors, while the other one damaged enemies and healed allies.

At this point in time, it came down to his own preference. Both were fantastic, and he could adjust his skills accordingly later on.

Jacob decided. Twilight it was.

[Learned Twilight.]

[Twilight: Conquer a barrier around the user, dealing holy damage to all enemies inside while healing all allies.]

The instant he agreed to learn the skill, he also knew exactly how to release it. The downside would be the mana cost as it would drain him within minutes.

Currently, he did not use much of his mana if any. The only time he would use it is when he healed himself or someone else. So far, he only healed himself that one time and never used the skill again.

Jacob was eager to try the skill out but held himself back. Now was not the idealist of times to do so but he could much later.

When everything passed, he would have to head to the temple and obtain the skills he desired. Self-learning was a long process and the earlier he got started the better. Not to mention he did not see a way to learn the Inquisitor skills, which more than likely meant he had to learn them by himself - the same way he had to with priest skills.

It might be easier to learn the skills for that class than the priest, due to inquisitor not being popular. He'd have to check with Leah to see if they had any pamphlets available.

Still, Jacob might be considered an exalted being in the eyes of the church. He essentially had three holy classes with a high affinity in the light attribute. But, he was not too worried about it at this time.

"Lord, you have a guest waiting for you."

Amber said as she approached Jacob from behind.

Jacob did not know it was her who came to him until she spoke, but he could sense her as she walked in his direction from the mansion. His perception had increased. More so than before when he only noticed subtle changes in the environment.

Jacob's brows furrowed. He was not expecting anyone.

"It is a priest."

Amber told him. She almost hesitated to speak when she entered his presence. Although she knew he was her Lord, she felt that he had changed. But how could that be when nothing out of the ordinary happened?

There were only two people who came to his mind, he wondered which one of them it was. There were no dealings made that could be completed right now, so why were they here?

Jacob simply nodded.

Grabbing a nearby white towel, he wiped the sweat from his face after he sheathed the short sword in his hand. Then he followed behind Amber, allowing her to lead him to the priest.

It did not take long for him to see the veiled woman in white. Judging from the shape and size, he assumed it to be Amelia. She was not even inside the mansion instead she was standing on the porch tapping her left foot vigorously.

Her eyes must have caught sight of him because she scurried over to him swiftly.

"Lord!"

She said in an anxious tone as she did a quick bow.

Jacob did not have time to reply as Amelia preceded to talk.

"Your fiancee is hurt badly, I fear that something bad has happened to her family. She asks that you come meet her."

Amelia hurried and said.

Jacob was silent for a moment.

"What happened?"

"She did not tell me, but her situation is similar to yours. Her guard managed to being her to our temple and urged us to heal her. His wounds were serious but he would not be treated until she was first. After Leah started the process he passed out. That is all I know so far."

Amelia explained to Jacob.

Jacob was unsure of what had occurred, but Lord Frost should have been able to take care of it. At least that was the way he carried himself in Jacob's eyes.

He had to admit, his interest was piqued.

His eyes turned towards Amber.

"Ready the two horses, and tell Jack to meet me by the gate."

"Yes Lord."

Amber nodded then bowed before she left.

"Is there something on my face Amelia?"

Jacob questioned the female priest as he could feel her staring at him. Although he could not see her eyes, he could sense where they were looking.

Amelia shook her head two times.

"No... I just feel something different."

Amelia spoke the truth. She did feel something was different about the young lord in front of her. It was as if she was being drawn towards him, but not due to his charm. It was something else, something that she could not see. Yet, Amelia felt this warmth emitting from Jacob's body that she wanted to be close to.
