It's been a week since I started going back to school.
I went ahead and decided to stay at the warehouse for the weekends. I want to have a proper relationship with a newcomer.
"Here Milly"
"What… what's this?"
"It's for your ears"
I have an earpiece, I bought it off Bluelights and it's an artifact that can hide certain body parts or either alter them.
"it's a [Body Mask]"
[Body Mask] Just simply hides a part of the body one doesn't want others to see. And of course, I need to convince Milly that letting others see her long ears would bring trouble. And it also comes in a variety of shapes, one I have right now is shaped like a flower earpiece.
"Eh?"
"You want to go outside right?"
Milly nodded enthusiastically, and then I placed the earpiece on Milly.
"People would get curious with your ears so think of them like they're the same as mine"
I pointed at my ear.
"Why?"
"People naturally get curious Milly, and not a lot of them are good"
She nodded weakly, and then her ear started being wobbly in my eyes, I blinked a few times and it looked like a human ear.
"Huh"
"i-is it good?"
"Yeah"
I patted her head and Milly somehow looked at me innocently with a smile. I don't want myself to be a caretaker alright? Why are kids flocking to me?!
"ah— also"
I took out my Tinted sunglasses and let Milly wear them.
She looks cool, yup.
…
Did I take my time around the warehouse, why? Simply because I didn't expect Viperpool to work so fast.
I already have some people on my ass. I can't risk more time, they're trying to recover as much as possible. I took some of their unregistered artifacts but I didn't take it all, after all, I didn't loot everything beyond the other doors.
"so… I guess it's time"
I locked the door gate after leaving the Warehouse, Anna should have a spare key.
Right now I don't have to hold back, since it's the weekend we're free to do what we want. I'm not bound by the curfew thanks to the headmaster.
I took out my gun immediately out of Arsenal and aimed at the roof of a building, I heard a thud immediately after.
"Tsk"
Yeah, they're not being discreet anymore. They're fully looking at me in the open.
"You all are the same as that woman clad in black"
I was talking about the bus chase. The same woman that can merge with the shadows.
Five of them appeared before me. I thought they would at least talk but one was already moving at me with killing intent. Holding the dagger and all.
"On sight"
Yeah, they're moving fast even in this state of mine, but not fast enough that I can't dodge them.
They're certainly higher ranked than me but in all honesty, with all of my utilities and abilities, they would be dying a dog's death.
Of course, the Utilities and abilities are also useless if not used properly but the ones using them are me you know?
—Bang! Bang!
"The reports didn't lie! This kid!"
Four of them backed off but the 5th one wasn't so fortunate. He backed off but five bullets were already catching up to him and if he moved it would be useless too as I already shot bullets that would dig in his head and joints if he were to move there.
"..!"
He plopped dead after being shot at, every single bullet was aimed at his joints and head after all.
"seems like you wanted to scream his name but couldn't? Or is it the fact you can't?"
I looked at them with my cold eyes. They don't seem bothered, so I decided to shake them up a bit.
"Black ops? Right? Which unit are you?"
I saw one of them shake, that's enough for me. I decided to go check everything about viperpool after I got kidnapped. Of course, I need every bit of information.
I made a prediction. One where they would fall. And I needed that to be correct.
I am simply the cause.
"Not speaking?"
"Okay, okay then. Keep your regrets to yourselves"
The gun I pulled out are pistols, but then I quickly put them back on Arsenal and took out better ones
I took out Revolvers, the design is very futuristic, and possibly the last of its kind. After all, this is the last to be manufactured, I then aimed at the remaining ones.
"What makes you think—"
Four of them in total, one woman and the rest are men. I just killed the woman. The others' eyes are fixated on me.
In all honesty, my fighting prowess is just [-E] Rank. My whole potential is pretty much decided by the weapon I use. Right now I'm a [A] Rank threat with these guns. Especially how the bullets are made, they're made for extermination
–thud
Ah, the woman's body finally fell. That's how fast things are going on.
One man had already dashed towards me, one was trying to stop him and the other was going too but I felt like he was cursing the one who dashed.
I moved a bit so the man who dashed just brushed past me
"So is that woman your lover? What a bad choice"
Words of mockery came out of my mouth.
"Shut up!"
The man was agitated, I started to question if these people are actually from the black ops. Yeah, I don't think they are.
"Black… ops huh… black ops. Not in every unit would they act like this"
I started aiming at them, this revolver just doesn't shoot out bullets it shoots mana-infused bullets. Those have more muzzle velocity than the normal ones, in other words, they're faster.
But they're not any less lethal, taking them head-on would cause injuries.
"Just who are you?!"
"Why are you asking? Don't you already know?"
I started shooting, they would dodge at this close range trying to gain more as time passed. There are only two now so….
I started focusing on one mainly so I could isolate the other, I've been fighting 1 vs many ever since I could aim a gun.
"A-are you an E Rank?!"
"Does rank matter?"
The one I've been aiming for died after having all of his joints shot and a shot to the head immediately after.
"Of course it does—!"
"Yeah, only slightly. It only dictates fights that could be won if fought on the same level"
He started running.
"but what's on paper and putting it into practice are two different things"
The strongest beast I've ever encountered is the Black-headed gorilla, it was a [D+] beast. I almost died back then when my lung was punctured by my rib.
But I won, how? Simply, I used strategies.
—Bang! Bang! Bang!
Shots after shots after shots, it seems like I have infinite ammo stored in a single gun. The man I am aiming for is simply dodging left and right.
But I'm not just firing randomly, I'm aiming at his joints and head, adjusting the target location where he could move.
If he ever tried running away he'd be dead.
So I kept shooting, till finally, I saw blood burst out of his shoulder. He didn't show the slighted discomfort, not a single reaction, he just kept dodging.
"I have 1,500 bullets for this gun so let's keep continuing this"
The bullets get reloaded automatically on the revolver, I don't have to pull out the cylinder and reload it manually as bullets just appear on the cylinder itself. With that, I could keep firing without restraint.
"ugh!"
The man suddenly slumped down.
"Losing blood already?"
"n… no wonder he wants you dead"
"who? Your boss?"
"..."
You all already failed the qualification to be black ops, so these people are probably just assassins greenhorns.
I shot him in the head no longer prolonging his death and immediately unmasked every single one who was killed.
"huh…"
Since they're dead and are corpses now I placed them in my storage, it would probably be taboo. But I don't care right now.
I went to an empty alleyway and dumped all of their bodies in one place, all their bodies lined up.
I sighed, sorry to tell you this. But I'm a quick learner, I was already assassinated once in the very same street, do you think I'll make no countermeasures after that?
'OS show the file'
OS showed me the information I bought. It's one of the entrances of Bluelights, or specifically one of its entry points. One of the public out there involves warp gates.
Though it has more security due to past incidents, the number of people that can use it is limited. Even though it's very safe to use and has no actual limits to it.
Bluelights use the same warp gates to travel to the actual place, even though Bluelights exact location is unknown, since I'm the author I very well know where it is….
It's underground, below New Woodlock.
Now, I bought information on where some of these entry points are, since Bluelights has entry points everywhere on the human domain I can easily access it if I know where it is.
[Saturday, 11:00 pm]
I walked to this very tight alleyway, it may lead nowhere to other people but not really, at the dead end there is a manhole to the sewers.
I walked towards the dead-end of the alleyway and walked towards the singular manhole that everyone could see.
Stomping on it thrice I heard a voice on the other side.
"My men are working down here"
"Did they bring some light?"
"Yes, and it shines bright"
"Is it the color Blue?"
"No, it would be hard to see with that"
I then stomped twice. Then the manhole opened. Just the same with any other entry points, passwords are needed, even though I have a black card I still have to do it since the guard here doesn't know and it's for safety measures.
As the lid was lifted off I climbed down the ladder down the sewer. There is a man there just sitting down on a chair, probably the guy earlier.
I then showed my black card to him. In which he raised both brows and stood up.
"this way"
He walked before me, there were several doors on the wall side of the sewer line but we went to the door laced with gold. Huh, VIP I guess.
–Clink
The door opened and a warp gate just lay before me, it lets out a bluish glow and it exudes some kind of aura that I can't understand.
I walked towards it, if I'm not wrong I just have to prepare myself, this is my first time going in so I might incur some kind of motion sickness from the other side.
By then I'll just have to think it through.
From my earpiece storage, I grabbed a mask, one that of masquerades, and I also prepared a trenchcoat and a khaki trench coat.
I closed my eyes and walked in, after a moment of silence I arrived at the other side.
I felt noise but it was considerably muffled, I tried to open my eyes, my vision and it was hazy and… wavy? No, that's not the worst part. I almost puked. But I didn't.
I waited for a few seconds and I'm finally back to normal. I stayed still standing there for a moment but now I started moving. Just like a train terminal the warp gates are lined side to side, the room has about 3 warp gates. All laced with gold.
And when I left the room there were other rooms, presumably another room for warp gates.
I left the place from the long hall, at the end of the hall, light exuded, so I know I'm already at the Marketplace.
It's almost midnight, this kind of light isn't obvious from the sun. As I went out just as I described in my novel it was exactly like the shopping district. With an array of shops and vendors, it's pretty much easy to navigate.
It's an underground City just below New Woodlock. It looks exactly what a city would look like above ground.
I looked around till I found a red-looking cube in the distance, I walked towards it and as I knew it it was the money exchange center.
Bluelights physical market has its currency. To avoid being scammed. Well, it happened too much and chaos ensued so you can pretty much guess why.
There was a line in the red building so I just lined up and waited. It was a fast process and since I have millions in my pocket I exchanged it for 200,000C for now.
There are conversion rates, 100C is 1 green point, 500C is 1 Redpoint, and 1000 is one Bluepoint.
So I have about 200 Blue Points right now. Not in the form of coins, they have a separate bank account in Bluelights, it's not age-restricted because it's an app.
And you just scan a QR code so the money goes in and money goes out.
It's a simple economic system.
Anyways, after I've done all that, I'm going to find the broker I've wanted to meet. This one thrives by gaining information from individuals that can kill you, not might, CAN.
I walked around the streets for a while till I encountered a Boulevard, perfect I just have to find it.
I walked around the benches till I finally found it, a chair with a blue spot. I sat down directly on the blue spot and looked around.
Until my eyes stopped at the red pole sticking out of the buildings. It was hidden behind buildings that you'll only see if you looked for it.
I then raised my thumb for a thumbs up and then I felt a presence sit beside me.
"Hello there Customer."
This man before me is the Taxi Broker, what I did earlier is their complicated way to say that I want their services, and it's only referral too, so it would be hard knowing them.
"I want a ride near the bridge just below the River of Styx"
I spoke with a voice of indifference.
"Whose ride are we getting?"
"The man operating Viperpool"
"..."
"in that case, I think it already arrived—"
Just as he was about to reach for something under his coat I spoke again.
"I want the Subordinates, Properties Schedule, and Businesses of that man, all of those information"
There are a lot of procedures for this Taxi Broker, well I don't mind, the 'Bridge just below the river of Styx' is just me telling how difficult this job is.
"I see."
"Then the arrival would be a week from now on"
"Much appreciated"
I gave him 50 Blue points as a down payment and left on my own, now that Information that I need is good.
I went ahead and looked for a specific shop. One that specializes in bullets, my Arsenal has about 20,000 item space. The catalog goes like this.
===
[{D}Arsenal][Passive]
–Storage space for Guns, throwables, potions, ammo, and Melee weapons.
►Items stored [1,555/20,000]
└Guns: 14
└Throwables: 123
└Potions: 327
└Ammo: 1089
└Melee: 2
===
I need to replenish my throwables and Ammo. I need more as of what I'm planning for the future, one where Ezekiel and Elizian could walk scoff free.
I'm already targeted by the Mafia so let's just stay in that, I'll have the Mafia target me so as not to make Nexus look my way. There's a lot of human conflict in the human domain. I'll just have to choose one to participate in.
And it's too early for me to get under Nexus's radar. Too early, maybe when I'm 17 I could manage it.
As I walked down the streets I finally saw a shop that fitted my standards. The weapons are displayed in an array just by the window so that everyone could see them.
their custom-built as one with an eye for guns like me could tell. I know there are other shops out there but by my gut feeling, it's telling me to go inside, so I decided not to ignore this feeling and walked right in.
"Welcome customer."
A rough raspy voice welcomed me, the man on the counter had black hair and black eyes, but somehow he seemed familiar.
His beard is thick enough to cover his neck and I could notice a few scars on his face too.
"Uh... Sir, do you have any bullets for a Magnum—"
"A .357?"
"Y-yes"
I was caught off guard by how fast he asked, well it's not like it's bad so I continued talking.
"One for an Assault rifle, and a Sniper rifle"
"So a 5.56 and a 7.62? FMJ or not?"
"No, just casual."
"Magic infused?"
"Yes"
He walked off the counter and went through the door beyond the counter. After several minutes he came back with a box.
"How many are you getting?"
"Uhm.. Above 500"
"..."
He looked me straight in the eyes and sighed
"That's a whole stock mind you"
"Oh…"
"Is your budget enough?"
"How much is it?"
"1,500 Blue points"
Fifteen hundred blue points, or one million and five hundred thousand, that's a lot but I can manage it.
"I didn't convert enough. But I can just go back here again"
"Alright"
I left the store and started walking back to the red building near the warp gates. I was given about 1,800 bullets when I was in Naia but I didn't know that it would be this expensive.
I know that it was expensive but not to this extent.
Now that I think about it. I only said 500 in one type of bullet. So… ugh it's probably a different price.
So I went ahead and converted 3 million just to be safe
