Elize stared out of her window, leaning back onto the rocking chair. Her mansion still felt the same, but there was an emptiness inside her that she was trying so hard to overcome every single day. Winter had passed, spring had come and gone, and she had finished her first year at the academy.
The summer sun was blazing high in the sky, beating down on the evergreen trees of the forest behind the mansion with an intensity unseen before. But still, she couldn't forget him after all these months. How could she, when she worried constantly for the man who she hadn't met ever since their parting in the feary kingdom?
Elize wished to know how he was doing. But there was no one to tell her of it. Aerin hadn't returned to the academy as well that semester, making her imagination push random possibilities at her. She couldn't bring herself to ask Legolas or Irina for help. She knew that that was like going down a rabbit-hole.
