She paused. Lloyd was trying to guilt her into staying, and it was working.
"No buts Elize," Lloyd said, raising her face to him by her chin. "We'll have plenty of time to ourselves when we get out of here. I'm not going anywhere." He smiled mischievously.
"That's not what I meant." Elize quickly replied, looking away.
She could feel the heat rise in her cheeks. She suddenly felt anxious at his proximity. Why was he trying to make it difficult for her when she was finally warming up to him? She thought nervously. She didn't want him to know how her heart was beating fast at this moment. He couldn't know until she was sure of her feelings. And in order to do that, she had to know why it hurt every time she started thinking about the wolf who was supposed to be her mate. Wasn't it supposed to be easy of someone was her mate? Why was her heart confused then?
