TURNING SIXTEEN

I'm turning sixteen today and I'm basically an adult now. By the way my name is Maria and I'm an avowed priestess of Athena the goddess of beauty. I'm pretty much a lovable kid but Athena doesn't like me much, that explains why she got me this ugly dress for my birthday, just so I won't be rude or disobedient I have to wear it everyday from now.

I overheard that the god Poseidon was coming to Olympia today and I am very excited about it.

Sure I didn't get to do all the stuff other kids my age get to do, but being a priestess is also cool, atleast that's what the older priestess told me. Although I didn't get to choose this life. Just like the word avowed means I was vowed to the goddess when I was a baby and Olympia has being my only home ever since.

To no suprise Athena served me extra duties and chores just so I won't get to go for Poseidon's arrivals. "Am I happy about it no, but as the job description states Athena wishes is my command.

The only thing that keeps me sane is my love for flowers, everyday I go to the river garden to pick flowers and hum beautiful songs, this song is the only memory I have of my mother whose name I don't even remember. But recently I've had a feeling that my every movement was being watch and u'd probably think it's Zeus the creator but I know it's something else. I tried talking to the older priestess but that say it my far fetched stories .
